Town have turned down a £500k bid from an unnamed Championship club for Nicky Ajose, apparently. I'd hope for a little more than that but, in all honesty, I think that's getting close to his true value.

Scunthorpe supposedly have enquired about Wes Burns. Would be absolutely gutted if we lost him.

Decent opening offer, at least we know Power won't give in to bids below what the club feels our players are worth.

A sceptical source on twitter is saying that out of contract Sam Mantom is in talks with Barnsley.

Wouldn't be too upset if he left. I like him but his form in the second half of the season has been very poor. He has scored a couple of goals but that is about it. His all round game is like the opposite of Romaine Sawyers, who has an excellent all round game but lacks an end product. Sam seemingly has the end product but his all round game since Christmas has been non existent. Definitely not up to the championship though!

Not really bothered if Mantom leaves to be honest, no longer the player he was before injuries. Decent stat/goal return this season but he isn't a big loss. For example, you take Chambers out the side and we are exposed, keep Chambers in with someone else next to him and we don't look THAT much worse a side. I'd sooner Mantom left so we could fit Morris into our system somewhere to be honest.

In for Chuks Aneke apparently, don't really know much about him. Sounded promising a few years ago but obviously isn't up to much now.

An MK blog on twitter seems to think there's been 2 completed signings for MK.

A reliable source on UTS has posted that a number of league 1 clubs, including Coventry City, are interested in Sam Mantom. He wants a new challenge.

Smurf been in contact with Billy Knott

He's had 7-8 offers according to our local rag - it'll need to be a good sum.

I think he'll move further south, personally.

Ryan McGivern and AJ Leitch-Smith both confirmed on two year deals.

Jayson Leutwiler signs a new two year contract having been out of contract at the end of last season.

Leitch-Smith looks a good signing goals wise. Something clearly isn't all good at Vale Park. McGivern however, is absolutely shit. God knows how he continues to get contracts at this level.

Leitch-Smith isn,t that good. He scored in bursts against fodder like Maidenhead, Blackpool and at the time a struggling Barnsley. Don,t think he scored against anyone decent and 12 goals flattered him.( 2 goals in his last 13 games )

Of the 3 Shrews have signed the biggest loss in unquestionably Dodds. It is only next season when we are 6 - 10 goals shy in midfield will folk realise he was actually a decent player.

McGivern is turd though. But maybe just maybe in his defence had Page had the balls to drop the ' untouchable ' Dicko then we may well of got ourselves a left back who could cross a decent ball. If he plays centre half he is moments away from the next mess up.

AJLS could go either way. Either the man who had a decent half season or the Yeovil man. McGivern is an odd one though.

In terms of all good at Vale Park we released McGivern and AJ wanted a six fold pay increase so not fussed that we've lost him if his atitude was that.

There is a theory going around that Smurf has engineered a lot of this. Wanted to sack Page after the Exeter debacle but potential new owners wanted him to stay, now off the market he offered a lot of the squad big pay cuts knowing Page would keep the majority like last season.

Smurf doesn't seem bothered to lose Page/Players and all of a sudden in the national press with a United link up and a coach from the worlds top clubs (Real and Inter) odds on favourite for the managers job.

I expect the talk of budget cuts will disappear if Morais signs as boss.

Possibly use Occys wage to tempt him, lot will depend on the link up with the Special One and Jose Morais.

Knott's not worth breaking the bank over, of course Vale know what he's about but he doesn't keep the ball enough - hard to justify pushing the boat out for that fact. As said, expect him to go down south.

Leitch-Smith can probably be considered to be a slight upgrade on the departing Akpa-Akpro.

Another decent striker still looks to be needed. Although the situation regarding James Collins remains unclear, but a fully firing Collins would be a big asset for Town next season.

However, scoring goals wasn't really that much of a problem last season overall, although admittedly much of that could be said to be down to Sullay Kaikai's influence.

A major issue last season was leaking far too many goals and, unfortunately, the signings in that department so far don't give me reason to think there will be the necessary major improvement required. A fully fit Knight-Percival, if he signs the new contract on offer, could bring about an improvement in our defensive performances though.

Was superb for us 3 years ago, such a talented football. Bit fragile mentally though I think. Use him properly in a number 10 role and get support around him and he'll flourish. Would be a great signing for you guys I think.

Being linked with Caolan Lavery

Be a good signing for you, he'll score goals in League One. Been a bit of a wasted 2 years for him after looking so promising when breaking through, mainly down to a long term injury and us signing the likes of Hooper and Forrestieri he's barely featured.

Sounds good, problem is if he is still good. 3 years is a long time and he has seemingly dropped off the radar. Think we would be looking at him to play as a 10. Reeves is injured too much and we need someone quality to step in for him.

Is Lavery out of contract? We had him all but signed years ago when he was at Ipswich but we couldn't agree the compo and it fell through

Yeah, seems to have just floated about short-term loan spells.
We had him in for a bit not long after Parkinson took over, so 5 years ish ago now, seems like he would've been a good signing at the time but we were in L2 and couldn't afford what Ipswich were asking. Wouldn't surprise me if we were interested again, he could do well as a second striker for us

Yeah once he's settled at a club in League One I reckon he'll do really well, even in his short loan spells every club has wanted him back.

Strange one really, he's not had the best of times in Belgium. 4 goals in 41 games when he was arguably one of the better midfielders in League One in 2013-14 and a huge reason in why we were able to stay up.

Be interesting to see how playing in Belgium has changed his all-round game. I would've loved him back with us but I accept there's no chance of him dropping to League Two. League One is his level and if he produces the quality he once did last time in England, I have no doubt he'll succeed in the Championship one day.
