Wilder has ruled out Tafazolli although forum rumours reckon we're still interested just not coughing up the wages he wants.

Ricky Holmes & Adam Smith from Northampton have been mentioned. Smith if Long goes which judging by Wilders interview he will and I for one would far rather have Smith.

Ricky Holmes is a quality player at League Two level, definitely worth a gamble in League One.

Fleetwood will be hoping this Jamie Vardy to Arsenal deal goes through, they are due a 25% of the fee.

:eyes:

Holy fecking shit! So, from their initial small fee that they bought him from Halifax for, they will have probably earned the full £1.7m from selling him to Leicester. Now, they look set to rake in an extra £5.5m if the rumoured £22m release clause fee is accurate.

I'm glad Fleetwood and Pilley have caught a break financially. That club really needs the money, good to see.:lac:

Wow money like that for Fleetwood could transform them, I know they aren't short of a bob or two but that can improve infrastructure and make them more sustainable long term.

To be fair they've signed our main weakness within our squad last season
Could Walsall and Vale fans explain how McGivern managed to get 23 Northern Ireland caps??? has he just deteriated or is it a case of poor man management and being played in the wrong position?

As an example we tried Connor Goldson at right back under Turner who then shipped him out on loan to Cheltenham due to poor performances, when he returned Goldson was put in his rightful CB position by MM for the 2014/15 season and he now is forging a successful career at Brighton!

I think most of his Irish caps were at leftback, so of course we played him as a centreback. Dunno where Walsall played him.

Shrewsbury are splashing the cash on average players.

Leitch Smith is quite good technically and on the ball, but he offers no pace, strength or aerial ability. All key attributes for a striker.

After fighting relegation last season, having average players and achieving a mid table finish would probably be great for Shrewsbury fans.

Duffy has double figure Wales caps... No idea how but both were far weaker a few seasons back.

Beyond explanation.

Reputation possibly, given he was at Manchester City? No idea what they saw in him either, was absolutely dreadful for us. Slow, defensively vulnerable and doesn't offer much in an attacking sense (played as a left back). Astounded at the fact he keeps finding league clubs.

From our ex-players that are there I wouldn't take any of them back (even if some of our deluded fans think Matt Tootle is Franco Baresi reborn).

Could see Shrewsbury struggling again next season if AJLS is their main striker and Sarcevic plays regularly. Fair play to them for trying to get their business done asap though.

We're set to sign midfielder Duane Holmes after he was released from Huddersfield.

Peterborough have signed left-back Andrew Hughes, who has penned a two-year contract, after spending nearly 10 years with Newport County, where he made over 150 appearances.

Is he any good?

Genuinely know nothing of him.

Disappointed you beat us to Tafazolli's signature, sounds like a good player and an area we're really lacking in.

With all respect to Northern Ireland and i hope they have a cracking Euros, there is a Fleetwood player in the squad along with tripe who play in Scotland.
The fact McGivern has 23 caps means nothing really.
I feel he was played out of position for us, if he is centre half he is terrible, as a left back not so bad, though this is disputed by both Walsall and Bristol City fans

Now we've got another tall, ball playing centre half we can get rid of that lanky streak of piss Ricardo Santos.

Feel free to take him.

Is that Carthorse Neill Collins still at Blades ? was on loan to us about 15 months ago and then remarkably seemed a fixture in your side last season?

Ryan Taffazoli signs from Mansfield on a 3 year deal. We're really bolstering our defensive options.

So far this summer we've signed:

Hayden White (Bolton)
Andrew Hughes (Newport)
Ryan Taffazoli (Mansfield)

McCann has confirmed we will be signing another left back, but I think its pretty nailed on Baldwin and Taffazoli will be our centre backs next year.

We payed up his contract towards the end of last season, he's playing in America now

Taffazoli is a top signing.

Just a genuinely good, solid centre half who can play as well.

Sad to see him go, especially on a free as we have developed him well, but wish him all the best - he'll undoubtedly be a success for Peterborough.

Great signing for posh, a true professional and wish him well for the future. Cracking player and extremely dominant in the air.
