That said, his goalscoring record with Watford is decent but still that kind of money is staggering.

Billy Bodin has signed a new deal at rovers. Fantastic news for us, was unplayable in our promotion run in.

I liked Bodin at Swindon, always looked like he was going to be decent. Glad he seems to have found his feet.
He's had some horrible luck with injuries the last few years and he was only on a short term with us but he made the difference. He comes across as a nice lad so I'm glad he's staying.

And he's guaranteed to score in at least one of our 2 games next season. It always seems to happen!

Well that is what happens when you have millions to spend or coming in - isn't the rush to sell.

Plus he is our captain/main scorer/English and somebody who actually wants to be here (well maybe Deeney would like a crack at a higher level but I cannot see him making a fuss about it)

We've signed Rhys Bennett, released by Rochdale... Any good Dale fans?
I was a bit surprised he was released by us, thought he was worth another year.

He's a pretty good player, and with a fair amount of skill, who suffered last season with injuries. Another problem is that he never made any position his own. He can play right back, centre back or midfield, but has never had a settled run.

If he stays injury free and finds a settled position in your team he'll be an asset. Certainly not out of place in a promotion seeking L2 side.

Good luck to him, never let us down.

George Long has signed a new 2 year deal. Hopefully that doesn't rule out any move for Adam Smith, doesn't sound like it should going off Wilders 'not guaranteed a start' comments as we have no other senior Gk at the club currently.

Paul Digby the latest center-back to be named in the Sheffield United annual of potential CB signings.

The football world has literally gone absolutely barmy. 20 million pounds for Troy fucking Deeney!
He reminds me of a latter-day Stan Collymore - probably minus the penchant for dogging.

£20m is more than double his worth

collymore was on a different planet to deeney in terms of ability. They're not comparable unless you're making loose comparisons of their play styles.

Jon Whitney said that he wants to bring Jordy Hiwula back to the club as Huddersfield has been said to be open to selling him.

I though they spent big money to bring him in from City but actually it was only £150k, this makes signing him a lot more realistic for us as I doubt they would want any decent sized bid for him.

Smith is fantastic but still prone to mistakes due to his inexperience. I would have thought you would have wanted an experienced GK alongside Long.

In other news we have signed Paddy Kenny as our Goalkeeping Coach, however due to the new loan rules he is also registered as a player just in case.

Orient apparently in for Liam Kelly, Oldham's captain. Don't think we've ever signed anyone from Oldham who wasn't shit.

He's a good player. Would be surprised if he dropped down to L2 level. Signed here whilst in the Championship, swapped him with them for Korey Smith when we were in L1.

Wouldn't make sense for him to leave Oldham to drop down a division, he's more than capable L1 level.

3 teams have offered our captain Carl Dickinson a better contract offer than we have. One is thought to be Notts County, no idea on the others.

Yes he's a young excellent left back unfortunate to be in the same squad as Meredith, I would prefer us to sell Meredith and use the funds to strengthen elsewhere and have Leigh first choice.

We have given our out of contract players until Modnay the 20th to sign contracts or tell the club they are officially leaving. So it's a make or break week or so for us.

Romaine Sawyers, Jason Demetriou, Sam Mantom and Milan Lalkovic are gone, I'm beginning to get a little bit concerned that Forde and Cook won't sign either, not that either are MASSIVE losses, but there's potential with Forde but I have a feeling Cook may take a higher contract in League 2 to ensure he gets more game time. I don't think we will have offered him the same financial terms as he had when he first arrived back and correctly so.

To date we've been linked with George McLennan (LB) of Cheltenham and Tom Davies (CB) of Accrington. I can barely contain my excitement...

Even some half-arsed rumour would do. We've signed the non-league's best midfielder (allegedly) and that's it.

Not even a rumour of anyone going. Tbf, it's the same for most clubs at the mo.
