I liked Pogs but he's not all that great. Wouldn't pin all my hopes on him keeping Crawley up.

Fair enough, I always got the impression your fans loved him, decent goal record for a big man as well.

He's one of those players that is rated by other teams' fans more than his own for the simple fact you've got 24 clubs in the division, he probably ripped apart about 6 or 7 at one stage once and so their fans have that small sample, the other clubs thought he was shite but listen to the 6 or 7 clubs and assume he had an off-day and the Crewe fans are sat there like 'he's good sometimes but generally a bit shit the other times'.

Yeah fair point that, I was the same with Baldock. Fans of other clubs thought he was quality, when in reality it took him 4 good chances to put 1 away. Can't fault his movement which is probably Premier League standard, but bloody hell he was infuriating at times. Might sound strange because he scored 25, but he should've got more

He was liked because he did a funny dance after he scored. He was/is an over rated headless chicken. I don't think he ever really ripped anyone apart.

He is such a strange player. Scores goals despite having very little natural finishing ability. He also suffers from not having a proper position. Struggled for us every time he played upfront, had similar consistency issues when played out wide. As with most players at this level I suspect, on his day he can be excellent, but those days are few and far between. But he is lucky, which isn't a bad thing. A number of his goals came via deflections or lucky circumstances. That being said, I would haven't said no to bringing him back, but I suspect his antics in the summer burnt those bridges.

One the one hand, I have to laugh at him, because he forced his way out of us for all the wrong reasons and now 7 months later, he is back in league one and at a club smaller and lower down the table than us, which says a lot. But on the other, he served us well when he was here. Tried his best, had a 1 in 3 record and got us a bit of profit. Crawley fans will love him as he is a character, but whether he can score enough to keep Crawley in the survival hunt I'm not sure.

Respect to Davis for telling him to sod off. Would have been easy to take him back to quickly replace Uche (not that Pogba was ever able to do the job Uche does).

There's no doubting Crawley fans will like him as he's a character, works hard and runs a lot but as JJ said, he's lucky striker, gets the odd tap in or rebound off his arse which flatters his goalscoring stats. Not sure how we (apparently) got six figures for him but probably deserved it for the way in which he left.

Mathieu Manshit's contract cancelled, must be his 4th contract in a row that was cancelled halfway through.

Looked uninterested in his time here.

I think he wasn't given a fair crack - against Sheff Utd he looked like the player I know he could be.

Maybe not a proper one but he had chances and was dire 90% of the time. My cynical side says the Blades cameo was down to the TV cameras.

It's been revealed that we turned down an offer of £1.2million for Kasim in January.

Jack Collison has been training with us, and was at our game last night.

Hell of a signing if we keep him fit, but that's a big if.

More than likely. I suppose we're seeing how he copes with training but I can't imagine he's able to keep fit.

Thomas and Santos have both returned to Derby. I doubt either will make the grade there, Santos especially, who was woeful.

The only game I saw him play for us he looked solid enough. He did only last 40 minutes before pulling a hammy though.

Lincoln defender Adam Newton on loan at Notts? Meant to be fairly highly rated isn't he?

http://www.lincoln.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=39781&posts=1

Sean Newton?! He's quality, really good...but he's a left-back and he's injured (unless he's just 'injured'). Which would be weird because Adams is too good for us to worry about replacing him. Unless we play Newts on the wing but then he's basically the same sort of player as Hayhurst.

We're interested in him, I know that much and his contract is up in the summer. But as I said when I found out we were interested in him...I don't really understand why when we have Adams as first-choice and Cranston as back-up.

Shame he's not a right-sided player as I'd have him here in a heartbeat if he was.

He's genuinely injured to be fair. His ankle was like a balloon after Saturday's match (taken off at HT having injured it the week before against Dover).

I said this on him the other day when a Luton fan also asked as they're really keen.

Depends what you want in your full back.

If you're after a very good attacking LB who is better going forwards than backwards, with a good set piece on him, a good crosser from open play, who has 40 odd assists to his name in 18 months then you've got the right chap.

If you want a LB to first and foremost be able to defend, doesn't leave you open on the left hand side because of how involved he gets going forward and struggles against pace, Newton's not the one for you.

You'll also stifle his game if you play with a winger in front of him. If he had more pace, he'd get away with not being great defensively and be able to recover and on the same point, he'd probably not be in the Conference either.

I see Notts have signed Sean Newton from Lincoln, that's a great signing, big step up but he's good enough. Played for us not long ago and was brilliant, great delivery, up and down the wing all game and gets in double figures for assists.

Sounds like Jordan Cranston going in the opposite direction - pretty good LB for conference level
