Twitter rumour from an Oldham Chronicle journalist that Dale, Shrews and Orient all chasing James Wilson.

The penny eventually dropped on our forum that it wasn't the Man U forward who was on loan at Hull last year, but rather the big defender from Latics. :ffs:.

Seems to be right sided, so would fit the bill for us, but suspect the other two may be offering more dosh...

Every bit of business we have done so far will no doubt be funded by the inevitable sale of Gudmundsson once he returns from the euros and the possible sales of the likes of Lookman.

Lewis Alessandra has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent, and joined Hartlepool.

Not sure what went wrong at Dale for him, hardly played but looked reasonably useful when he did.
Should hopefully do a good job for Pools.

Prone to injury these days then?

Another one from the academy we let go years ago and could return.

We were supposedly interested in him this morning so that's blown that one away pretty quickly.

Yes mate very injury prone, he aas pretty decent when he first signed and got a run of games, problem was he couldn't stay fit so just got the odd game here and there which any player would struggle to impress with. If he does stay fit then in League One he'd be class.

We have signed 18 year old George Dobson on loan from West Ham for the season.

Back up for Adam Chambers and he seems like a top prospect.

No clue on anything about him, but it's clear that Whitney is taking note of Barnsley - loaning players from the Premier League, who this season, cannot be recalled. That and the fact he will have a turnaround of about 12 players, he knows the earlier it's done the better they can attempt to form a team.

Nicky Law signed on a two year deal erm !!!! Don't quite know what to make of that.

Not unhappy, he seems solid. Was decent with us in L2 and can't imagine he's got worse in Scotland. Also knows McCall well. I can't really see him getting us into the play-offs though and also I'd wonder where he will play. If he's playing in the centre then seems a bit redundant to sack Knott off and get Law in as his replacement, is there that much difference?

Nathan Clarke is much the same, can get embarrassed with his pace but seemed largely solid. Neither of them are on the same level as Burke, Cullen and Evans though so we will be a worse team unless we raid the loan markets and get lucky. Or actually sign some decent players...

didn't you saddlers have a bit of a whinge about what Barnsley did with their loans last season?

I wasn't bothered about Barnsley having so many players that are loan players, it was the fact they had so many in the starting XI. I think the regulations should be changed on that front. Squad is fine, but you should be allowed, 2 - 3 tops in the playing XI. When it's 5 or 6, you aren't yourselves, you are half a loan team.

We have agreed a fee (yes a fee!) with a club abroad for a striker due to sign tomorrow, along with 2 Monaco lads who have been delayed until tomorrow due to lack of flights from Nice after the England game... so around 6 or 7 new signings expected tomorrow.

Likely to include Kiko and Tavares.

I don't recall seeing anything that said the striker was from abroad. Did I miss that bit?
Feeling more than optimistic if Smurf lands the 2 Portuguese players.

Apparently we've turned down a bid from Posh for Jake Reeves.

I understood he was a Monaco player.

Quite happy with law, decent player and only 28, happy with Clarke signing up for another year also.

Still, obviously we need a lot more.

Who is he and where does he play?

Former Spuds and Brentford yoof. Broke into Brentford's first team (just) then signed for Swindon. Been with us since January 2015 with a short loan previously.

He's a midfielder and a pocket dynamo, well up in the list for player of the season last season.

Jake Reeves was well thought of at Town but just couldn't break into the first team regularly. I think we offered him a contract but due to lack of games he moved on. Irritatingly he was a million times better than our current Centre midfielder Anton Rodgers (who must have naked pictures of our manager on his phone or something). He's a busy, tidy little player with bags of energy.

Smurf tweets are so full of riddles! Tomorrow may be interesting though!

I may be accused of being a sad case, but given the lack of anything at all happening at Swindon I find myself logging in to see which of these foreign players are going to sign for Vale! Specifically the Monaco players, I'm quite intrigued to see if the lad that scored 16 in the French league last season is going to be lining up in League 1 next season!

Josh Wright has signed for another two years.
Happy with that.
I know 'Wall fans didn't rate him but he played 41 games for us last season and was first class.
Excellent in that deep lying holding role.
Midfield almost done, just centre halfs, cover at full back and strikers needed now.

We've got George green down at training, one of our ex youth products that moved to Everton then fucked it all up, currently contracted to Burnley.

So are we at the moment! All arriving today with up to 8 set to sign over the next three days according to Smurf.

Not a signing as such but we've brought in Chris Lucketti as our assistant manager from Fleetwood.

Looks like we're trying to sign Nathaniel Knight-Percival from Shrewsbury. Don't know much about him, is it contract up or will it involve a fee? If we do get him it would be another gap filled in the side - Wilson is not screwing around
