Done is an overrated fraud anyway.

Funny how Robinson will be around next week talking about his shoe-string budget again though.

He'll be moaning about injuries instead this time - specifically the fact that David Martin and Dele Alli are out.

Blockbuster signing for us, we've brought in Paul Rachubka after he was released by Oldham last month.

Means we'll likely send Ross Etheridge back to Derby after his loan finishes and get another striker in.

More. I joke a bit about Alli, he's still a fraud and nowhere near as good as people think but he'll be a solid Championship player at least - maybe reach the dizzy heights of being a Livermore/Shelvey type outer fringes England player at best. Most likely be the midfield version of James Vaughan.

Steady keeper for this level.

Nothing spectacular but solid enough.

He is susceptible to long rangers though!

He won't even play unless Garrett gets injured. Basically just means we can send the Derby keeper back and bring a striker in.

We've signed Paddy McCourt on loan. One of our more interesting signings at least, he's one of those talented fuck-up types right. Good but also probably a nobhead and/or overweight

Tom Kennedy has signed on for his fourth (!) stint at Rochdale, while 27th choice centre-back Sean McGinty has been shipped out to Aldershot on loan.

Not technically our player but as he's with us on loan at the moment...

Most likely bollocks. I reckon he'll sign for us come the summer.

I think he'll almost certainly leave us in the summer, but will almost certainly have better options than Gillingham available to him due to his good form. It'd be interesting if we get relegated though, as he would be a proven scorer at this level and we'd have to be mad to let him go for nothing. As I understand it, should we offer him a deal, anyone who wanted to take him would have to pay Compo as he is under 23.

Under 24* and yeah, Gills would have no chance of he keeps his form up, even if he doesn't they might not.

To be fair, has he done anything of note anywhere else?

We have a decent wedge of money behind us now so this close season should see some investment in the squad. I'd be very disappointed if we didn't at least try to get him, and he seems to enjoy it with us. Sometimes the club just fits, like it did with Cody McDonald - bugger all for every other league side he's played for yet lethal for us.

Had a good loan spell at Torquay in league 2 and seems to have been well liked wherever he has been, but more for workrate than for goals scored. I've actually met the bloke a couple of times and got to say he's a thoroughly likable kid. Seems to genuinely appreciate having a job most people would love and desperately wants to do well.

Not saying that he wouldn't be keen on Gills if that's the only offer, but realistically if a bigger club makes him an offer I'd expect him to take it. I doubt he'll keep up his current form for the rest of the season anyway but bigger heads may already have been turned...

Marquis will join Gillingham permanently in the summer, no doubts about that. He won't join Brum or Wednesday for the same reason he wouldn't sign a new contract if we offered it -- he can't be guaranteed first team football l.

Coventry have worked out that Jamie Jones is shit and haven't renewed his loan deal.

Hopefully we can send him back out to Elgin City or something.

Grayson also said he doesn't expect to make any loan signings, I hope he's fucking bluffing.

If your player wants to sit with our fans, we can't stop him.
You can certainly stop your club from trying to turn our players' heads. Your last exploit at poaching one of our players didn't exactly go well did it?

We can certainly stop him having a long term football career - only half a season into a 3 year contract. Stick him in the reserves and rot. Could spectacularly backfire on him with Ferguson being sacked over the weekend.

Although supposedly a fee of £150,000 up front with clauses taking it up to £300,000 has been agreed.

Apparently gills have opened negotiations with Marquis about making his move permanent. Also offered Cody Mcdonald a new contract. Would be fantastic to tie both these up for next season.

If that's true then it's excellent news. With the majority of our better/more exciting players signed up already for next season, these two would be a massive lift.

I Agree that it would be great to sign these two up as soon as.
The biggest two signings for me though would be to keep hold of Dack and Egan in the summer.
I would be amazed if they are both with us this time next year.

Agreed, but I think a squad with a core of Egan, Dack, Cody and Marquis is good enough to trouble the play-offs next year, particularly so if we can get Ehmer back to pair with Egan.

I know for fact Grayson has had Marquis looked at in the last month.

What's the crack with his Millwall contract, is he on a free in the summer?

His contract with Millwall is up at the end of the season.
Holloway has already said he doesn't want him back. That, of course, may change of Holloway gets the bullet.
At this stage he would be a free agent at the end of the season. It is possible that Millwall may offer him a new contract just so that they would get compensation for him, as he is under 24.
