Are Port Vale essentially going down the Notts County route of signing exotic sounding players in a bid to appear slightly less tedious? It really worked for them...

I don't really think the club cares about being less tedious to fans of other clubs, but it certainly appears to be trying to be less tedious to our own fans. Years and years of signing average to shit L1/L2 (and even non-league) players and not really progressing anywhere becomes a bit tiresome. At least we can say we have had a go at something different this season whether it pays off or not

I wasn't really referring to other clubs, obviously Gills and Vale have been pretty inseparable for the last few years so I've got to know a few of yours, and as you say, they've been getting a little bored with the lack of....anything. It's worth a go, but Notts County should be a warning.

I disagree, Notts County should never be taken notice of :bg1:

The latter obviously
Well with all these foriegn goons signing you've at least got 11 players to put on the field so you're already ahead of us in that respect.

Does it now mean that Oldham haven't a manager and any players after another left today

Paul Taylor is training with us again.

Hasn't played football since April 2015.

Apparently signing shortly...

GK: Conor Ripley (Boro loan)
FB: Josh Law (Motherwell)
FB: Danny Lafferty (Burnley)
CB: David Ferguson (Blackpool capt.)
CB: Peter Clarke (Bury)
CB: Aaron Hughes
CM: Ryan Flynn
ST: Lee Erwin (Leeds)

And some mystery Portuguese bloke that was "outstanding" in training.

Id be very disappointed if we let you have Clarke tbh.

Tom Bradshaw to Rotherham looking likely now. Tom's mom Sally is now following Rotherham United on twitter and it is looking like we delayed one of our signings today till Monday to soften the blow. Still speculation at this point though however.

What's he like?
He only played one game here since he come back last season and he scored. Keep him fit will be a great signing for this league as all the other league 1 clubs he's played for will agree with.

Fleck is a good player in league one, I'm dubious as to if he can make the step up in the championship should you get promoted.

Trying to get him off the wage bill?

Supposedly Jose Baxter is training with us again.

It's possible but Peter was one of our best players last season and I think we'll both be battling at the same end of the table. Just think we'd be helping you and putting us at a major disadvantage.

Oldham Althetic have signed Josh Law from Motherwell on a 5 year deal.

Josh is a solid player who gives his all on the pitch He can play in a number of positions in midfielder and defence.

Be interesting how he gets on in the League 1. He is well capable of League 2 but it will be interesting to see if he can cope with the step up.

We have released Jake Wright. Would be a good signing for any League 2 team.

Could be us. We signed Blackpools GK coach, Steve Banks, last week.

Wouldn't be a bad signing wouldn't Colin Doyle, IMO.
