I'm surprised no-one in this league has taken a punt on John Akinde if I'm honest, he seems to come on a bundle in the last few years.

Could be the sort of player that we look to sign I guess. I suspect for the Gregory money we might get 2 or even 3 Akinde type players so can spread our bets a bit.

As shown by his time here in the Championship, he was bloody awful. Signed a new deal at Barnet this summer though, glad it's worked out for him.

We've signed Kevin Toner on loan from Villa to January. Really highly rated apparently and started 2 or 3 Premier League matches for them which certainly would have been good experience for him.

He's a left sided centre back but we'll need to use him as a left back as Rico is still out injured it seems.

Anyone is better than what we currently have defensively, so hopefully he's a decent signing.

With his potential, age and length of contract I'd want at least £1.5m + 25% of the next sell-on, plus various installments for promotion, goals, appearances for England at youth > first team level etc.

He has literally just turned 19 years old and has made 42 appearances, with 4 years left on his deal, plenty of admirers and loads of scouts interested. Club could have some sort of transfer battle on their hands at any given point in the next 2-3 years, so we would be stupid to sell right now, especially on the cheap.

Needed a LB after selling Holmes-Dennis in the week so pleased we moved quickly and think we could have done a lot worse than Chicksen.

He'll primarily be back-up so think he'll be fine for that. Free agent and only on a one-year contract so relatively risk-free.
