We're trying to settle Paul Anderson contract, and if we manage this, we're likely to bring in another two today.

With the signing of McNulty confirmed, we're expected to sign a LW and another striker. Possibly Lloyd Isgrove and another.

Is he fit? Could see us being interested in him

We're reportedly bringing in Richard Smallwood on loan from Rotherham today.

We signed him on big wages last year - (rumoured to be £8kpw) he joined us late in the Pre-season, and wasn't fit. We started poorly and I think he was brought back too soon, subsequently, he broke his leg, of which ruled him out for the majority of the season and in truth, was no fault of his own.

He's had a full pre-season this time round, but has failed to impress. Hes fit now, I believe, but hasn't had much game time.

We are supposedly replacing Rico Henry with Scott Laird...

Don't know what to think about that.
Laird was ok for us at the start of last season but Townsend came in and is 5000x better than him. Laird has also put on loads of weight over summer and looks absolutely shite. We rested Townsend last night and instead of playing Laird we played a youth player which suggests Laird is on his way out.

Well there is no way in hell he would get that here but is certainly the type of player Phil would go for and we could do with someone on the right.

My Preston supporting mate ranted to me one night a few years back that Laird was the best left back in League 1, but no idea how good he is now. Probably not very.

£1.5-£2m is the fee I've seen mentioned for Henry with a package full of addons.

Agreed. He won't find another salary like that in L1, given the year he has had.

He'll almost certainly head South, and L1 is probably his level.

Strange how things change so quickly in football - from scoring in Championship play-off semis to not being deemed good enough in L1 - when he had numerous offers from Champ clubs before we tabled a bid.

I'm sure he'll rediscover his form, but sadly that won't be with us.

Being linked with Louis Thompson again from Norwich aswell as James Henry. Would be pleased if we could get both of those in.

Also Burnley's Fredrick Ulvestad who I know literally nothing about but we need bodies, so why not!?

Calvert-Lewin to Everton for 1.4m. I'd have snatched their hands off at the 1m they offered a while back.

From the same town as me and went school with my sister so kept an eye on his career. Just been injured consistently which has held him back so a shame really as a talented player.

Sean Murray, Republic of Ireland under 21 international midfielder from Watford. Strange as we have lots of midfielders.

He was excellent for us for the first half of last season but 1.4 million does seem very steep. Think you have done well to get that price for him if it goes through.

Quality player at this level. No pace, but good delivery and Jackett turned him into a hard worker which made him twice the player he had been.

We were linked with him last season in The Championship and I was disappointed it didn't happen so if we manage it now i'll be double happy, think Bolton are also interested though.

Connor Brown and Jake Cassidy out with the possibility of one more coming in according to our local rag.
to add to this, we will only be adding another if we get rid of Brown and Cassidy, which is looking unlikely.

Keith Keane on loan from Cambridge. If he can stay fit, I'm reasonably pleased with this, as he provides much needed defensive cover and can slot in midfield.

Chesterfield have offered us Ebanks-Blake on a free but we are still other targets (Simpson)

Fully expect us to announce Ebanks-Blake circa 10.30

Not half as pleased as we are - mainly because of his wages. Hope he can "do a job" for you and we can re-visit his options in January.

Is that only your third signing of the window??? I thought we were pretty fucked this year but it seems like things arent much better at Dale.

Yes and no.

You lot have had to replace most of your team this summer. We ended up retaining 14 of last year's squad, so obviously needed to sign less than you.

We've signed nine, by my reckoning. Logan, McGahey, Canavan, Davies and (hopefully) Keane are first team quality, while Joe Thompson provides willing, if limited, cover for the injured Peter Vincenti. Odelusi (loan from Wigan) hasn't shown much yet, but looks big and fast. Rathbone has been injured since pre season, whilst Reuben Noble-Lazarus is also, unsurprisingly, back on the sick list (released after two injury-prone seasons, then inexplicably offered another year).

Baily Cargill of Bournemouth linked with a loan move. Left sided centre back. Spent the last few seasons on various loan deals it would seem.

Ask Coventry about him as he was there for half of last season. He's a lanky lad and he's been quite prone to injuries so far in his career. England U20/U21 international and he's made his fair share of first team appearances for us, but just needs consistent games every week somewhere.
