He was loved when he played here. His last minute winner at Northampton repeatedly stirs up emotions.

What are your views on being linked with Steve Evans as your new manager and Mansfield not allowing an approach for him?

I don't like him as a person but as a lower league manager you can't argue with his record. I'd rather someone like Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink or Alan Archibald from Patrick Thistle but I think Evans would be a sensible appointment. Power and Evans are good mates seemingly

Mansfield clearly want to keep him so we'll just have to wait and see how this pans out.

I'd agree with that, horrible person but has been successful in the lower leagues. I don't think he'll accept Power's interfering and want control of recruitment which may kibosh it.

Well I hope that you are sitting down as Power has come out and said the new manager will have 100% control of recruitment if you can believe that!

It does seem that Power is learning from his mistakes made over the last couple of seasons, but the proof of the pudding is in the tasting so we'll see!

Sam Morsy in talks with "a number of Championship clubs". Fair play to him, he deserves his move after proving himself and trying to keep us up when it was easier for him to jump ship. Would wager that all the usual lower league poaching vultures are interested so Barnsley, Brentford and Bristol City, maybe Preston. Sheff Utd as well must be interested.

We have signed goalkeeper Scott Shearer after his release by Mansfield.

Eastwood played every single minute of every single game last season and I would be surprised if that doesn't happen again but having an experienced back up goal keeper will allow our two youth goalkeepers to go out on loan for first team experience.

Even he basically acknowledged in the Oxford Mail report that he is coming in as a bench warmer.

You better hope for your sake that he is just a back up because he's shite. I would fetch another keeper to be on the safe side because if Eastwood gets injured your screwed.

Eastwood was one of the worst keepers we've had whilst I've been watching City, he still gets jokes made about him on the forums. He was a youth loan from Huddersfield at the time and there were rumours it was in the deal that he had to play no matter how shite he was. Will be interested to see if he's improved, I'm guessing he must have.

Wes Thomas looked alright for us tbf plus he was never fully fit, solid signing for this league, Eastwood on the other hand his laughable

Forgive me if I trust our scouting system over this thread.

Stephen Dawson has signed for Bury.

Not only a pay-rise, but a 3yr deal!!

Bloody hell.

Can't help but think those buckets will be out again shortly.

Absolutely massive loss for us, stupid we'd let him go and not just offer him a longer deal. Best of luck to him.

Ummm
We are either deep in the hole (yes I know we are) or the Peter Lim / Peel Holding roomers are actually true.
Well chuffed with this signing but a tad nervous non the less.

Hmmmm..

A good signing yes, but one that raises more questions regarding our finances.

Firstly a 3 year deal for a 31 year old, is that wise? Add that to 33 year old Jermaine Beckford getting a 2 year deal.

Wages, how are we affording them on an average gate over the last 3 years of 3,700/3,800?

The usual prodedure is bankrolling AKA Scunthorpe, but we have had numerous unpaid bills and CCJ's against us in the past. So if money is so plentiful why don't we have any when it comes to the tax man?

Just how wealthy is Stewart Day/ how prosperous is his business? He has close ties to Peel Holdings, a local company worth billions, but I doubt they would get involved in a football club?

He also wants a new stadium.... again with what money??

One things for sure there will be no buckets out this time, a few pennies aren't gonna clear millions of debt.

I'm sorry to say but I agree with the Rotherham fan. I don't generally remember many goalies that play against us but ( 4th Div ) he scored one of the worst ever own goals I have ever seen. Came out to catch ball from a corner and fisted it into his own net. Then we only went and signed him -- Bloody useless cost us many points.

Pompey letting two of their best players go on a free.. Enda Stevens and Michael Doyle, doh!
When Derek Adams was asked the best player we played against this season, he said Enda Stevens. I am shocked you let them both go, or are they after a better deal elsewhere?

Hopefully a dyslexic chairman doesn't end up signing Edna Stevens:emb:

Two League One clubs have made enquiries about Ben Pringle, imagine one of them is Rotherham.

Very Likely now Beckford has signed. Clarke has told a few contracted players to find news clubs. I imagine he's one of them.

Edit: Ben Williams to you lot too

Hope so because we would have virtually the same midfield what got us promoted the last time (3 years older though) with Frecklington and Smallwood but apart from Agard on the right.

Our manager Paul Warne gets on well with Pringle so it wouldn't surprise me if they have been in contact with each other before we make an enquiry.
