Matt Gilks is off to Scunny, we're getting some kid on loan for the season instead. Solid keeper will do well for them.

Bristol Rovers' Peter Hartley linked with Blackpool, who have also signed defender Curtis Tilt.

Very dangerous in the opposition penalty area, but also quite dangerous in his own. Good with ball infront of him but in trouble if he has to move. Sweeney came in from Stoke last season and was far superior, he's not good enough if we want to push up the league but did a job. Would be ecstatic if we got a fee.

If it's Ivan Toney i'll cry, wish we could have him back.

Rumoured to be close to signing Liam Lindsay from Partick Thistle, 21 year old centre back who got into the SPL team of the season, seems like he could be a great signing, hope it happens

We're after a striker. The Madden talk has gone quiet but we're "battling" for Paul Taylor and James Vaughan.

Hadn't seen Vaughan mentioned and Taylor's scoring record is awful. Although we might be getting a couple of strikers hopefully we get a good combination

If Pompey could make a signing, that would be great..

We share your pain.

We currently have over £1m from fees received burning a hole in our pocket.

Still nothing.

To me it seems like a few clubs per league making a splash whereas the rest are just plodding and letting the fees go down a little. We're due to be bringing in an estimate of 10 according to our manager and it's just the one so far.

We probably need about 7 players even if all our out of contracters re-sign, which they won't.

I think we will make signings but it's just boring really. Need a lift after Wembley.

Yep, we're in the same position.

McArdle due to go to Scunny.
Marshall wants a move down south.
McMahon chasing the most lucrative deal - Bolton bound.
Lost Meredith already and Darby already.

Non of which are expected to resign.

So we'll need;

RB
LB
CB x2

Wingers - x2
CM - x3

Strikers - x2

That's 11 players. Thing is, we're aiming for younger players, and nothing is ever a certainty with that approach to recruitment.

There's no reason why we can't win the league next year, but a lot of pressure is on Abbott in bringing this talent to the table - and then hoping they perform.

Risky business.

We will also be bringing in around 9 or so players, just like last season we've had another (but smaller) exodus of players with a few still having question marks about whether they stay on.

We need:
1x GK (2/3x if Liam Roberts leaves)
2x CB (3x if Matt Preston leaves)
2x CM (3x if Adam Chambers leaves)
2x Attacking midfielder/winger (3x if Oztumer leaves)
1x Striker

And on our budget (which is rumoured to have been cut by Bonser), with our manager being a bit crap, and with one of the best players in the division in Oztumer rumoured to be off this summer, we could be in for a real difficult season. We're going to have to recruit really, really well.

Am no getting offended pal, just calling bullshit. You're right that I don't know much about the Wigan team, which is why I don't deliver meaningless verdicts on whether our own team is better.

But the point you took issue with wasn't about Wigan. It was about Appleton. And I reckon I know at least 10% of what you do about Appleton.

As already said, we can all come back to see the excuses you make when they appoint someone else.
And after all this, Appleton's leaving your small club not even to manage another club - to be assistant at one.

Our CEO is cited in the local rag saying that the opinion of his colleagues at the EFLs jolly last week in Portugal was that it is very quiet this summer. That only about 20 deals have been made in League 1, and one of the reasons is that the agents have been too optimistic in what they want.

What's Mark Marshall like?

What's Mark Marshall like?

Quick, exciting and our POTY.

However, inconsistent - hence why he plays in L1.

I'd like to keep him, but I don't think he's worth chucking mega money at.

Charlton are confident of his signature, so I can't see him going anywhere else.

Looks like Madden might still be a thing. Sign him up DC.

Where have you heard about any interest in Madden or Vaughan, Aber? Would be delighted if we are, obviously, but I haven't seen anything credible about pursuing either player and don't think we'd fork out anywhere near as much as Bury want for Vaughan.

I think the Vaughan stuff is just people knowing we've put in bids for a few and getting carried away. The Madden stuff is interesting though, lot of talk ( admittedly social media) that he's coming ( or at least we want him).

Oh fuck off please say you're not getting him. He's by far our best player and I'd be gutted if we lost him, he's way too good for us.

Lots of people at our end saying we've put a bid in for him.

Well I haven't seen any mention regards Vaughan or Madden either Social media or anything else. Regards Paul Taylor -- A big fat No.

Hopefully we will reject it as we really need to keep him if we want a chance of going up next season.

He sounds good so I hope you don't...

Seems we've opened up the purse strings a bit this summer.

Where? I've seen nothing about Madden or Vaughan, you're more likely to resign Luke James.

We've signed Matt Gilks on a free from Wigan. Seems a solid signing but he is getting on a bit. Hopefully McArdle to come soon but it's all gone a bit quiet on that front.

Having heard anything about Madden to Bristol Rovers but I wouldn't care too much if he left. If it means more game time for Van Veen then i'll be happy.
