He's our star player. The best we've had in years since the championship in terms of quality and winnings games on individual moments. We aren't saying he's better than any midfielder in this league, he's just OUR best player
That's fair enough, my comment was just a bit of tongue in cheek really, because of how excited you lot were getting. Judging by the follow up comments I wasn't the only one who saw it like that, anyway looking forward to seeing him now he's got a lot to live up to.

Difficult concept for some to grasp it seems.

Some of the players he's being compared to in here hardly get the pulse racing either, do they?

Is it me or are more clubs actually spending money on players this summer? Is there more money for clubs to spend at this level now?

One of a few good posts from you lads and I certainly get where you are coming from. Oxford and Bristol did well last year as did we in our first season back. No reason why you, Pompey and Donny can't kick on now. All decent clubs and dare I say it but all 5 of you have the potential to be bigger than someone like Rovrum. Where's that bluddy tin at?

Pompey are a far bigger club than Rotherham, any of their fans deny that and their deluded.

Agree, Pompey and Blackburn are the biggest in this division. I was simply lumping together 5 teams who have only recently come back up.

Exactly, well said, nobody is touting him as the next Messi or even the best midfielder in the league, he was just a big player for US last season and we're delighted because it looked like he was gone and we'd need to find some kind of replacement.

I doubt anybody of an Argyle perspective could even really say how Carey will do in this league when he hasn't ever played in this league and we don't know what the standard will be having just been promoted.

We've signed striker Conor Wilkinson, been on loan at this level a bit, any ideas?

Our fans or other teams?

Actually, just checked. Yeah, both.

We're followed by 85% dickheads to be fair.

Yeah generally. Just read the replies to your club post announcing the signing.

I know Twitter isn't the best medium to judge by but jeeze.

Posh sign Michael Doughty and Jack Marriott, from QPR and Luton respectively, for undisclosed fees.

Im pretty excited by the Doughty signing. Its been a long time since we signed a central midfielder who has played over 100 league games across the Championship and League 1.

Marriott was seemingly Luton's 4th choice striker going into next season but will be given times he's still young.
Got to say we've played a blinder getting £450,000 for a player being reduced to 4th choice, albeit one with a lot of potential.

We are the same size in terms of support, we probably have the potential to have a higher fan base seeing as we aren't the arse hole of Sheffield unlike yourselves

We are excited not because he is the best thing since sliced bread, but we nearly all thought we had lost the best creative player we have had since Akos Buzaky. If for months you thought you were going to lose the best player you have had for years, and he decided to stay for whatever reason, would you not raise a small hurrah? At the very least. That's all we are doing.

I don't know how I'd feel as our best players usually piss of when they get a better offer, as you would when it's your career.

We've always been that little bit bigger than Donny imo, we have historically slightly bigger crowds and spent more times in higher divisions and we have a better head to head record as well. We have sold nearly 6000 season tickets this season and i doubt Donny are even close to that atm.

Has for Pompy only an idiot would think we're bigger than them, they're a way bigger club than us.

Having seen who has left and who has come in so far, the 6/4 quote on us going down must be an absolute steal.

Carey been spoke about as if he's Messi.

Can't wait to see him go toe to toe with Lee Frecklington and Joe Newell. Fresh and fully fit for the first time in 18 months.

See if he lives up to the hype then.
They'll have Carey, you'll have Commons - battle of the best attacking midfielder in League One, I'll be sure to attend both of your fixtures.
