Know nothing about Bury's finances but in the past, some of their signings have left me baffled. This year however they have made some good signings and will be interesting to see if they have the steam for a long season. Will they be able to play Vaughan and Beckford most weeks? If so, they will certainly score goals.
Baffles me every year mate.
6foot4 Newcastle striker coming on a years loan and with youg Miller (almost as many goals per min as Vaughn last year) along with Tom Harker coming up (very highly rated kid) we should have enough firepower even when the 2 main boys are out.
Who knows, it looks very good on paper. Just a shame we have sold another of our young guns to Southampton in Will Ferry, would have loved to see him in the first team.

Rob Harker? - sounds very promising, I hope he gets a few games might be tempted to go to a JPT game if he plays. Been on trial at Chelsea I believe.

So far we've signed Peter Whittingham, Richie Smallwood, Bradley Dack and Ben Gladwin so the midfield is properly bolstered now and has been upgraded from last year since the likes of Guthrie and Akpan have left. Big Tone has done well so far and for the first time in some time I feel quite optimistic for the upcoming season. Just need a couple of defenders and some extra firepower and I'll be super happy!

After the amount of shit you've talked, having your team nearly break records for worst Football League season ever, while you fucking hid for months, you have no right to contradict anyone about football ever again.

Nearly breaking records? Not worth mentioning if it didn't happen is it?

I didn't hide for months either. I made it clear why I wouldn't be on the championship forum at the time. So before you trying giving it the big un, find out the full story son.

Sorry again but I went To Rovrum 50 year ago, considering a job transfer. South Anston and Wickersley I think were just 2 of the districts I looked at. I decided against a move when I noticed the birds flying backwards so they got no muck in their eyes. In any case, I can't take someone who calls himself after a tub of lard seriously.

Brilliant. You're banter is just brilliant.

Fucking Loz from bratfud hahahaha

Steve Evans you mean? A man you could never beat, still bitter?

Airport(sort of) and at least 11 train stations I can think of in the Bradford district. *kisses guns* Get to know, beat that tin pots.
Oh if we are going to the district we must have about 10 stations

We've been linked with barely anyone and still want around nine or so signings. Very slow going and not sure when to start worrying, with pre-season just around the corner.

I expect it to kick off this week. Lumley, Madden, Sweeney, Wheeler to start with :)

Tony McMahon seemingly set to resign after interest from Preston and Blackburn failed to come to anything

Goalkeeper David Martin has travelled to Ireland with the squad today.

Expect him to probably sign in the next week or so.

Thats the best reply you've given. At least you've got your wummin spirit back. Was beginning to think you can wum but can't take it. For what it's worth, I like all Yorkshire teams to do well and can see you being 1 of 16 teams currently eyeing the top 6. The division looks that tight again.

You know this league much better than I, who are the teams that are not one of the 16?

Looking at the sides in the league this year, I think the difference in quality between those at the top and bottom of the league will be quite small. Every club has pretty much the same financial clout now Sheffield United and Bolton have left us. Any team is capable of the top 6 this year I think.

I'm guessing he'll be brought in to replace Cullen, big shoes to fill but at least his goal scoring record can't be any worse. Be interesting to hear wombles comments on him, to gauge what sort of player he his, and whether or not he's any good.

Reeves doesn't score goals. We use him to sit in front of the defence and get things moving and then recycle the ball when we're on the attack. And he's very good at that, and at working very hard to chase the ball and opponents down. Not afraid to put his foot in when he needs to either. Downsides are that he gives the ball away too easily with daft passes and he's a bit lightweight physically. He'd be the first name I'd put on our teamsheet and £150K is a ridiculous figure for what you'd get, but it sounds like he has a release clause for that or a bit more. He's not the best in the division but he's the best midfielder we've got and won't look out of place in a promotion-chasing side.

If he did this sort of thing more often, he'd be worth a lot more (5m30s in).

Sounds very much like a Cullen player then who only scored 1 which he shinned from a yard out in 18 months with us, although Cullen very rarely gave the ball away. But he'd cost a lot more than £150k so I'd be happy with this signing personally, especially if people who watch him every week think he's worth a lot more.

I'll leave that to others but I look at Plymouth as one of the 16. Their history, support and I think we wanted to sign Carey. Don't think they will finish top 6 but like Oxford and Bristol last year will equip themselves to build for the year after.

We keep hearing how the divisions above us have improved and how shit this div is but I actually think that the standard here has also improved. Teams are so close to each other that they often cancel each other out.

Cheers, I was not really after whether we were in your bottom of the table, though I agree we should be mid-table at best. But just not knowing the teams I was interested in who might be at the bottom end. Reading this forum it looks like the Gills might be in trouble. It is also possible that Rotherham could be in trouble, simply because they did so badly last year. Sometimes the rot sets in and it hard to turn things around, and this has happened before - it did to us. SERNWA please don't bother giving me any invective, this is merely an observation that such imploding has happened before with sides off the pace in the higher division.

Rovrum will have some good players for this div but probably not as many as S makes out/ If Fecklington can regain his fitness and form, he will be one of the best mids.

Indeed they do. My point is not about the quality of the players, just the observation that sometimes doing so poorly demoralises the team and they heavily underperform in the lower division. I am not saying this will happen, but Rotherham are in a unique position.

Not players but Lee Bowyer has been confirmed as new assistant manager and Johnnie Jackson is first team player/coach.

Delighted with both.

Bollocks, you hid away and came back when you thought you might have a slim chance of staying up, but soon fucked off again afterwards, you just used the fact everyone thought you were a bellend as an excuse to not post on there.

Seems you're not making any friends down here either, not really hard to see why though is it...

I still haven't decided if your thick as fuck or on a massive wind up.

I posted a thread about why I was leaving due to the hypocrisy on this forum. Best thing is most agreed with me at the time. When you say 'everybody' you mean the yokels and all the sad acts who need this forum to make friends.

I don't need the internet to make friends. Do you really think I care about what some no mark from Bristol or a geek from Leamington Spa thinks of me?

Which commanding, experienced CB's are still available?

Whilst our ethos is to focus more towards youth, of which is been very evident so far, McCall has confirmed that I'll be a different story in defence.

McMahon looks to be signing, so that's RB covered, but I believe we still need another 2 CB's. Knight-Percival and Killgallon already tied down. But the latter, albeit solid, is injury prone, and Percy does have laps in concentration.

2 more signing next week.
