Honestly, he works hard but just wasn't good enough. He would have no impact on games whatsoever and missed any great chances that might fall his way. Very, very surprised he is staying in League One.

Fuller will give you one hundred percent but has lost pace is often out of position and is prone to an error.

Can't fault Fuller's commitment or his past service but his time was up at this level at least a season ago. Curzon Ashton's non-league forward line were making a mug out of him 18 months ago. Makes impressive last-ditch tackles to get himself out of trouble because he's in the wrong place but really hope for your sake he's not your first choice.

Solid enough player at that level. Very sideways but holds possession well. Normal role is starting on the left side of midfield and drifting inside.

I'm glad we didn't renew his contact, not sure he's up to League 1 level anymore.

Not much more to add, never really did anything in a Charlton shirt but then didn't get much game time. I would say League One is certainly too high a level for him.

The most sideways player in the world, must have a 100% pass completion because he only ever passes five yards to the person next to him. We’ve had him a few times over the years but his forward drives and through balls are a thing of the past and nowadays he’s just too safe - he will keep you the ball he just won’t do anything with it to trouble the opposition, saying that he‘s easily good enough for L2.

I liked him on his day, at times he passed it safe to often however. But there were a fair few times that opposition fans said "the bald one" was our best player, when he actually picked the ball up an ran at players he was very good at it. More ability than Dieng who's stayed in League 1, but if you can't get a club then that's how it goes. I was expecting McCall to take over at Donny and him to follow, I bet he was as well.

Think he'll do well for you.

Got mentioned a couple of times when Cullen was screening the back four and Vincelot was surging forward in 2016-17 and he was allowed to basically meander through games with zero responsibility. He’s looked well out of his depth this year.

That's when I meant 16/17. This year not as good, but still thought he was better than Vincelot, Dieng and Reeves when he played, and he was out on the left which isn't his natural position. Well out of his depth is ott.

The guy has been in and out of the team, played far fewer minutes and asked to play different roles including much more defensive ones yet has more goals than Law who was undroppable under McCall and is supposed to be an attacking player. Ultimately Law was ineffectual and lost his protection when Cullen went. I don’t rate Reeves and not sure what happened to Vincelot this season so can’t argue with them two.

For someone of his ability he should have done a lot more and is why he was named a crab by some of our fans, but some have short memories he was one of our better players in 16/17 a season where we played some of the best football in the league and got to a playoff final, granted less so this season but Law was not alone most were shite Dieng included. I don't buy the Dieng didn't play enough, first season he played plenty but got dropped for Vincelot once McArdle came back into defence, for me he just doesn't have the technical ability to be in a top end midfield or the mobility. Managers get paid to make the decisions on who should and shouldn't play, if Dieng didn't get picked it was his job to show the manager he was wrong, which I never saw personally when he did play.

Regarding transfer news, Wyke has been linked with Bolton, Wigan and Preston hope that is resolved quickly.

Yes he's a good player but as has been said elsewhere he had a lot of niggles last season and his fitness had to be carefully managed to get him on the pitch often enough.

He is consistent with a good end product in terms of goals and assists and works hard for team. He's a very bright chap and should be good around the club.

I notice Bristol Rovers haven't given any details of how long his contract is. Town offered him 2 years on improved terms so I'm thinking you must have at least matched that.

I think Town had to offer him 2 years or he wouldn't have considered staying but at 31 I'm not sure I would have liked to have had him under contract for another 2 years. His best years may now be behind him, or soon behind him so how much he can continue to be an influence for Bristol Rovers beyond say this season has to be questionable.

As with Brown and Ogogo going to Coventry this looks like another player cashing in on a very good season and the chance to sign a more lucrative contract elsewhere towards the end of their career. You can't blame them for that.

Managers get paid to make decisions and ultimately a decent league one side have signed Dieng and a Law’s dropped to league two! No point arguing about it anymore anyway, wish them both well.

It's a shame to see a few of last season's team moving on but it was always on the cards they would.

This season is likely be one of transition. New manager and backroom staff and some exciting new faces to bedded in. I particularly like the look of Okenabirhie. We still have much of last season's team in place though, notably the back four, so there is no real need for concern as things stand. A new goalkeeper will obviously be a key signing but there are plenty available, particularly on loan deals.

Of course were we to lose Toto Nsiala or Jon Nolan that might put a different complexion on things. I think the club might consider decent offers for Toto as he's nearer the end of his contract but I'm not sure anyone will match the club's asking price for Nolan and we don't need to sell.

The way that Hurst and Doig left to join Ipswich left a very bad taste in the mouth for me and they soured the memory of an excellent season with their actions. Personally I hope they fall flat on their faces at Ipswich and it is a dismal failure for them,

I'm not sure if triallists fits into this thread.

Town are in Spain this week for a pre-season training camp and have three triallists with them.

Nick Townsend, a goalkeeper who was released by Barnsley this summer and Jake Kean, an experienced goalkeeper who was most recently with Sheffield Wednesday.

Devonte Redmond, a young midfield player just released by Man Utd who had a spell on loan at Scunthorpe last season. He looks technically gifted based on Man Utd under-21 video footage but whether he could transfer that into the hustle and bustle of League 1 is difficult to say.

Pretty much agree with you, although regarding Hurst and Doig, my issue is more with Ipswich who went out of their way informing the Ipswich media of their intentions whilst staying officially quiet. It was the worst kept secret and there can be no doubt it impacted the last 6 weeks of the season. For that reason I too send Ipswich bad Karma...….

It will be interesting to see who is next seasons "Shrewsbury"...

Regarding contracts we don't announce them anymore (not since DC came in) so we don't get people swarming in on players & media buzzing about players' contracts expiring. (I guess thats why anyway). We also don't give longer than 2 years (only 1 player has a 5 year contract who's our young Welsh International CB who came through our ranks) so perhaps it was the money? Which again I must say i'm surprised considering how DC bangs on about not having enough money and having a bottom 6 playing budget.

Lets see, so far we've made some good signings then in Upson (MK Dons), Matthews (Bournemouth), Rodman (Shrewsbury) & Widdrington (Pompey - for the academy). We still need 2 strikers and a LB (striker signing this week apparently).

Seems very promising, scored 22 goals last season in the Scottish Championship in a league winning side - has previously played in the Scottish Prem too.

Sunderland were strongly rumoured to sign him but I guess he wanted to play for a big club

Callum Reilly signs a permanent contract with us, two-year deal. Think we're basically done for signings now. Maybe a couple of loanees to bulk out the squad, but barring an injury-filled pre-season we could easily start our first game with a squad made out of what we already have, and it's only just the start of July. Pleased with this!
