Luongo and Gladwin to Villa for £3.5M according to the Telegraph.

Are these lads actually good enough to play first team premier league football? Villa won't spend much/anything this summer unless Benteke goes at which point, they'd need certified quality to replace him. Although they are a massive club, they've barely spent £3m a transfer window recently.

Good question. Luongo probably is, even if he hasn't played particularly well recently. Gladwin has the potential to be a Championship/Premier League player but I'm not sure he's at that standard yet.

Luongo is I'd say, Villa signed Ashley Westwood and he hasn't done too badly and he was nowhere near the player Luongo has been at this level.

I'd be surprised to see Gladwin make the jump that quickly though, he was tremendous against us at Meadow Lane but every other time I've seen him on TV he's not been anywhere near as good as he was that day.

To be fair, we sold Ashley Westwood after promotion from League Two to them for just under £1m and he's been a regular in their team pretty much ever since. Look at Ryan Mason, good loan spell at Swindon, now a regular for Spurs. Jack Grealish, good loan spell at Notts County, now a regular at the Villa.

Did you not watch him in the play off semi final 2nd leg?

Yeah, I just wanted to throw the question out there. Villa have been notoriously tight since Lerner put the club up for sale. Some of their signings in the last few years have been absolutely awful on a low budget. The question is, if Sherwood wants to take them away from their 6th consecutive relegation battle (something a club that size shouldn't be anywhere near) are these young, canny kind of lower league lads with potential really going to cut the mustard to push on..when they are only spending a small amount. Westwood features quite frequently, but is he really a thorn in the oppositions side? He doesn't stop Villa's defence being very leaky and he doesn't get over the halfway line to create anything. He's young so could improve, but I'm not sure I'd be spending whatever limited budget I had on player that may or may not do the job.

What about Nathan Byrne? Will he leave this summer? Over a couple of TV games and the games vs Walsall, he has been the most threatening and stylish Swindon player. Could be a long hard summer for the Swindon fans to take.

Byrne is out of contract but thankfully we have a year option on him which we will presumably take up (if we haven't already). He's another that's bound to attract interest though.

We could potentially lose Luongo, Foderingham, Williams, Byrne, Kasim and Gladwin this Summer, along with Stephens, Turnbull, Toffolo, Louis Thompson and Ricketts returning to their parent clubs. That's 11 of the 14 players who featured yesterday.

They signed a lot of over the hill, Prem dross the summer just gone though. Senderos, Kieran Richardson, Joe Cole for example, and they didn't do anything really.

Apart from his two early goals I don't think his general play was too impressive.

Parkinson stating that he wants Tony McMahon on a perm deal. Negotiations are underway -

Very versatile player, who played in midfield in the latter stages of last season.

Would be a decent signing, and is without question an improvement on Jason Kennedy and Matty Dolan.

Judging by what our journalists have tweeted tonight, the revolving door has opened.

Gladwin will be a villa player by the end of the week.

Rumours that Cooper will be gone imminently too, it never gets boring being a Swindon fan!

Can see Williams taking charge, being 'matey' will Lee Power. Cooper will have another club before long... If his contract is allowed to expire.

For the good of the club, this would be the best option for the club in my opinion. It is clear as day that Power, Williams and Standing run the show whilst Cooper is just the Yes Man. Williams has an excellent reputation in the game and if kept at assistant level, will outgrow Swindon, to keep someone of his ability at the club it may be time to make him manager.

If Cooper goes then maybe its time for Williams to prove all the praise he gets is well deserved.

I'd be happy to accept him if the rumours come to pass. Although the club would undoubtedly be berated by the not so knowledgeable for taking the cheap option, much like when Cooper was appointed.

Still a class act at League One, you could buy worse at that.

200k is not small money for this league. You'd need some resale value, no matter how good the player is.

Fuck me some transfer activity at Gresty Road before August!!!

We're understood to have had talks with Greg Leigh and an experienced CB whose got a choice to sign for us or another L1 club, so we all know where he'll end up.

This CB played in the Championship last season too.

Swindon Town have recieved 3 'substancial' bids for Massimo Luongo and Lee power (Swindon chairman) expects to see him gone before next Week. Very very likely to go to villa.

Huddersfield have stated they are interested in a left back, which rules them out of signing Nathan Byrne.

Bristol City have said they are NOT interested in Nathan Byrne, yaser kasim or wes foderingham

Wes Foderingham looks likely to leave however which his contract ending this year and no new contract talks looks to be scheduled with Swindon.

We've signed Ryan Jackson from Newport. Right back who can play wing back too. It's a position we need strengthening, so promising - can't say I know anything of him though.
