Marquis is an odd one.
Can't knock what he has done over the past couple of seasons but he was OK, nothing more, nothing less for us.
Most Millwall fans thought he was gash.

He did nothing before he came to us but 3 seasons of 20+ goals puts your value up

That's a bit untrue. He was very good for us in the half a season he was with the club - scored 8 in 21 which was a pretty good hit rate considering his career to that point. Unfortunately his form was so good that Millwall triggered a clause in his contract to keep him on an extra year rather than be out of contract so we could sign him, only to sell him to Donny a year later.

Completely agree with Joe, he was alright for us. The Wall fans hated him though

Two of our trialists tonight seem to be RB Michael Harriman (ex-Wycombe) and LB Tyler Garrett (ex-Doncaster).

It looks like Ben Woodburn is going on loan to Oxford. A real kick in the nuts for us as we were seriously interested and are really short of options up front. The difference in the contributions to his wages can't have been great and it shows we don't get any freebies from our wonderful Merseyside neighbours.

A very good signing for Oxford.

Which is exactly what I said, he was OK for us.
Has clearly done well since leaving us though

Harriman is quality if you can get him, I think we only let him go because we could no longer afford him.

Anyway. Having been on loan to us twice already, Miwwaww's Fred Onyedinma just signed permanently on a 3-year deal, whilst defender Jason McCarthy goes the other way.

Probably as good a deal as we could realistically have hoped for.

About time we had some good news. Looking forward to seeing if we can help him start fulfilling his potential.

Tyler Garrett meh!
Given we have Toffolo and an interest in Coker (still), I'm inclined to think he was here just for some minutes because he's a Lincoln lad (came through our youth system before his family moved to Spain IIRC).

Been at St. Mirren all pre-season apparently.

We definitely need cover at RB so it's one that would make sense, although Cowley was planning on getting a CB who can play RB if needed so maybe there's been a switch in thinking.

He spent the first week or so with us, then went to Cambridge and back here.

Pretty sure you guys are signing Coker just hasn't been announced as he is still injured(two ruptured knee ligaments against Sunderland last October)

Hate is a very strong word! Harris fucked Marquis about towards the end of his time here, stalling his career with promises of being one of our main strikers after his loan spell at the Gills — but then barely playing him. True he was too limited for the championship, but i think the majority of supporters thought he deserved his chance with us in League One. He’s a Millwall boy through and through and went with everyone’s blessings. I’d be interested to see how he’d do in the Champ now.

Not a hope in hell you would get him for so little despite the fact he’s in the last year of his contract. The club have no interest in selling him so any interest would have to match the clubs value which is far higher. Millwall have inquired but couldn’t meet John’s wage demands
I call bullshit on this for a variety of different reasons.

Yeah, I think it's all done and dusted personally and probably has been for a while. Probably doing the latter stages of his rehab here before it's announced.

David Wheeler has gone to Wycombe for free on a 3 year deal... I’m not going to lie that one hurts, I’d hoped that the man who sent us back to league 1 would come back but fair play to Wycombe they’ve got a good player there.

Not sure how 8 in 18 starts was only OK? Made a massive impact. Nuisance value and workrate was superb as well. Was gutted when Millwall took up their option to keep him another year.

Ben Woodburn confirmed on a season long loan

Expect Elliott Moore and Dan Agyei to join tomorrow.

Gavin Whyte has been sold to Cardiff for a fair old wedge.

Josh Earl linked with a loan move to Bolton or Tranmere.

I know you aren’t personally guilty but we do have a situation where a lot of our fans rate a player based solely on whether they have a song.

Seen some absolute guff on social media. A decent player, but no more, IMHO. Certainly not one I’d be pinning a three year deal and a proper senior pro wage on (got to be at least £3K a week - Hows that stack up for Wycombe, irrespective of the new outside investment?).

For me he lacks the pace & delivery to do damage at this level. Very tidy in the air though.

LOL. Not for a few years, actually,
The week before just get your coaches to drill your side in defending 50 yard angled floated crosses.. Even an offside for you is a set piece for them. We really struggled up at their place.

Oh we definitely do that. I’m just a bit disappointed because of what his goals did for us and I feel that it’s his sort of player that could be the final piece in the striker department. Thinking on it though I agree that Wycombe offering a 3 year deal and likely a guaranteed starting space would have persuaded him over anything we would have offered.

FarehamPompey nelsonpfc seems Clarke may be our Webster replacement. I've seen his stats, looks decent on the face of it, will he make the step up comfortably do you think?

I thought he was going to Derby. He was easily the best defender in League One last season.
I think he'll play for England in a few years. Left footed, only 22, beast of a bloke, very composed. Doesn't miss headers. Loves going on a mazy run with the ball.

Looking forward to our trip there in a couple of weeks or so!

Whatever permutation of centre backs we go with, we’re pretty well served aerially. As you say, though, it’ll be a test.

Well Webster's off to Brighton for £25m and it seems we're being a bit cheeky and asking that Clarke's added in that as well for a replacement.

I presume that is on loan as thought Clarke has only just joined Brighton.
