Piss take that Bolton were allowed to start the season and give a points & 'goals for' advantage to almost everyone they have played.

Nice for them that they can sign players who are no doubt on big money, and still owe players wages from last season.

Not Boltons fault its the EFL. Farcical.

Cummings is a talented player but has got some real personal issues. Looked good for us when given the opportunity last season but had a falling out at a do for sponsors toward the end of the season and was never seen again afterward, not even for any of the celebrations. Talented but a very self destructive character it seems.
I think that is putting it lightly... he is deranged.
I can't find the photo, but he managed to get Mick Harford to kick him out of the club that night.

There you go. He’s signed for us!
Good signing. He was my favourite player last season by a mile, did his job quietly but effectively and an absolute master of shit-housery and winning fouls. No idea what went on for us to banish him from the squad but he'd still get in our side as a DM this season as we've not replaced him with a better play that's for sure.

We also signed LB Max Melbourne from WBA on loan until January. Can also play CB. That'll presumably allow us to give Toffolo a rest but also gently bring Coker back into the fold.

That ends a decent transfer window for us. Could have perhaps done with a third striker and Andrade signing a new deal.

We signed 23 yo Dutch/Moroccan left winger Oussama Zamouri on a 6 month deal after a trial with the club saying he is starting with the u23s. He was at FC Dordrecht last season in the Dutch 2nd tier playing 30 times, scoring 9. Don't know much about him other than a 9 minute video on Youtube of his highlights (we all know how accurate they turn out to be!) but from that does like his tricks, has a reasonable long range shot and is 2 footed.

He'll be a punt for us and it is really an extended trial. If he doesn't appear for the 1st team, at least as a sub on more than a few occasions, by Christmas then his trial has failed.

Tony McMahon has also left the club by mutual consent.

Where do you go to loan unwanted, unattached Ben Stokes wannabes?

He is absolute shit anyway. Worst player I've ever seen in Tangerine.

Fell foul of Mellon over work-rate issues. Did a reasonable stint for Rovers on loan, doesn’t waste possession but can get brushed off the ball fairly easily. Will he feature against us on Saturday?

I quite liked Pringle. Definitely a talented player who can create, but was never going to be in Mellon's plans because of his workrate.

He was apparently training all pre-season with Bolton.

Anyone know why they didn’t sign him along with the other 9?

Yes I'd imagine so. Not sure where he'll slot in as we have a LOT of midfielders. Probably start on the bench I'd imagine.

Ryan Delaney was decent when we signed him from Burton a couple of years ago, but seems to have lost confidence. Not appeared this season - probably best to see if a change of scene helps him

We have signed Neil Danns until the end of the season. I always liked the look of him when he was in the Championship and just hope he has still got something to offer.

Took Danzy a while to win over the shakers, giving a goal away to Noblot didn't help!!
After that, well he was a cracker.
If he plays like he did last season (and this summer suggests he still has it) you will not be unhappy.
Good luck to the lad and i would love to see him back at Bury (should we survive in some form or other)

A reinforcement to our defence has arrived in the shape of former Hull and Reading Centre Back Paul McShane, who has signed until January.

I recall him from the telly box as being pretty useful - hope he still is!

Posh fans we'd like to keep George Cooper. Has got his head down since coming here and has an absolute wand of a left peg.

Definitely a class above this league.

Similarly to the post above, Shrews fans we'd love to keep Anthony Grant who has been immense since signing. He is a monster of a player in league 2.

Oxford fans, what can we expect from MA in the transfer market? January is always a difficult time but is he one who tends to us loans as squad fillers or key players? Looks like he signed younger players with you lot.

Expect a couple of gems from the youth squads of the Premier League and a couple of flops.

His first window (albeit with little time to plan) wasn't very good with us. But the subsequent windows were good though. I think it will mostly be loans in January for you unless he can get his main targets for summer earlier. I would say don't set expectations too high for this window as it will depend on how much leeway he has budget wise and who he can shift out to make space.

What is your recruitment team set up like or has MApp been able to change that as that played a big part for us as well? The changes made at ours really kicked in for his 2nd transfer window.

Long term I suspect it will be like us that he'll build a squad with a core of experienced players with a decent number of young talent.

As examples, his successes were players like Simon Eastwood, Alex McDonald, Johnny Mullins, Liam Sercombe and Joe Skarz for experienced players along with Kemar Roofe, John Lundstram, Joe Rothwell, Curtis Nelson, Marvin Johnson, George Baldock & Jonjoe Kenny (both on loan) and Ryan Ledson for potential talent across his time with us.

Some of his failures for us were Alex Jakubiak & Carlton Morris on loan (both in L1 now though), Pat Hoban.

He struggled for a fair while getting a good keeper in and we alternated between 2, at best, adequate keepers (I can only remember the name of one, Benji Būchel) until he signed Simon Eastwood in our 1st season in L1. With a good keeper, we'd have won the title I reckon in the year we got promoted.

For us, he also struggled to find a no.9 whereas he had a knack of signing very good defenders, midfielders and no.10s though for the level the team is at.

Quite a few of his successful permanent signings with potential from his time with us have moved upwards such as Roofe, Ledson, Johnson, Rothwell, Nelson, Lundstram.

I will end this ramble down memory lane by saying don't expect too much in January (other than loans). You'll see him really stamp his identity on the squad in the summer.
