Ben Marshall won't be joining the Millers after all, he apparently isn't in the right frame of mind.
More likely we won't pay what he wants.

Can't say I'm too bothered, we have Ogbene, Adelakun, Hastie, Lamy and Clark who can all play out wide.

It's a couple of defenders we are short of, what with injuries ans suspensions.

Josh Ginnelly signs on loan from Preston. If he does well, I guess its to be made a permanent move in the summer.

Lincoln fans, whats he like?

I liked him but a typical winger, one good game followed by a few awful ones.
Surprised he left Walsall and went to Preston, too big a jump as it's proved.

Appleton's now said Pett and Coker are free to leave. No surprise on either. Both only played once this season.

Pett was unlucky in that he got injured in the final pre-season friendly and was out for 3 months. He's actually a decent enough player but probably not quite athletic or box to box enough for Appleton. A very good L2 player, though.

Coker's just been a weird one full stop. It turned out that his knee injury was fine in the summer but he picked up a separate injury and that one kept him out for a further two months. Pretty sure things would have been different for him had Cowley stayed.

Has Coker even been given a go? Maybe his injuries are just too much for him now.
As I said when you signed him, get him fit and anywhere near his pre injury form and you have the best left back in the division.
I wonder if anyone in this division will risk him. Might have to drop a division.

Played once in a Checkatrade game against Rotherham.

We're about to sell Toffolo to Huddersfield so ironically he'd probably get a look in now, but we signed a young LB from WBA instead. The further irony is that the WBA guy we have just signed was brought in on loan to cover Toffolo due to Coker's injury!

Paul McShane has signed on for a further 18 months. Talent and application not in question - hope he can stay injury-free!

Toffolo gone to Huddersfield for an undisclosed fee. Great guy and wish him all the best, unlike some seems to have conducted himself well. Not the best defensively but stepped up to L1 with ease. Max Melbourne has big boots to fill and I'm a little concerned that he'll be up to it but time will tell. Wouldn't be surprised to see a more senior left back coming in even though Appleton seems adamant that Melbourne will be the successor. Hopefully Huddersfield leave us alone for a bit now!

Must have raked in around 3/4 of a million already with the three players leaving this window. Will be interesting to see if the replacements can make the step up and seamlessly come in without us suffering too much.

Although you'd obviously have wanted to keep Toffolo, it's ended up being acceptable for all sides. Toffolo is back in the Championship, we get around £500k for a soon to be out of contract LB and Huddersfield get a bargain.

Melbourne has got big boots to fill so we'll see how he gets on now.

No Akinde in the squad today because he pulled out of training on Thursday injured. That's believe because it sometimes happens but whereas MA's been very factual with who has what kind of injuries since he's been here, he just said 'JA's told us he had an injury' or words similar.

He was part of our NL promotion team on loan from Burnley and I'd agree with DavidImp, got a decent goal in our play-off semi. We offered a deal, but he preferred Walsall a league above.

Twitter suggesting our Villa loanee Rushian Hepburn-Murphy is to be recalled and loaned to Coventry. May be some truth in this as he didn't feature on the bench yesterday despite recovering from injury.

Ginnelly was never Championship quality so that PNE move was a weird one.

We found him a tricky winger and an edge of your seat type player but he was very hit and miss with his final ball (as wingers usually are). Sometimes guilty of too many twists and turns and missed a chance to cross. A good character and was well liked around here.

He looked a little out of his depth in L2 with us so we cut his loan short and went to Tranmere in the NL, but he obviously did well at L1 level in his next move, which gave him his PNE opportunity.

On Akinde, apparently Appleton said something along the lines of "He pulled out of training on Thursday with an injury and we've got to trust him on that". Later said something vague about a hip injury, but certainly something afoot. Rumour in the gents at half time was that he is headed for Leyton Orient. Gillingham have been linked but Evans claims he can't afford him. He will be one of our biggest earners, and is probably keen to go back to London as he isn't starting and wasn't very keen to move up here anyway. If he does leave, we need another physical striker who offers something different to Walker and John-Jules, who are both fairly lightweight, speedy players.

Lol if you listen to Evans, he couldn’t even afford to let his Nan play for us.

We are skint though.

What’s happening at Lincoln?

You seem to be having a big clear out with the 3 already gone, and rumours of one or 2 more.

Is it just a big refresh? Bringing on youngsters or gonna buy in experience to replace those gone?

New manager wanting his own players, the three who left were all out of contract in the summer so we cashed them in. Got decent money too.
He's also not keen on having too many players over 30 so expect a few more of them to go.
The new players are youngsters with any further signings likely to be similar.
Pett and Coker have been told they can go and Akinde might be going too.

The other two, or possibly three, have hardly played anyway so it wouldn't impact anything other than the wage budget. Pett has played 1 league game this season, Coker 0 league games this season and Payne has rarely played under MA, so it'll be the fringe players moving on next rather than first teamers.

We do need to be adding a couple of permanents though because at the minute we're at our loan limit I think.

We've had a bid accepted for Southend striker Tom Hopper.

From Boston and has previously played for Scunny. Not the first time we've looked at him.

I really like him. He has a relegation release clause so makes sense for us to sell.

Yeah sure we tried to sign him in the summer of 2018?
Freeing up Akinde to go?

Hope we're getting 6 figures for Hopper. His injury last season was the main thing that killed us, he was flying beforehand. He's come back into chaos this season, still chipped in with goals, still looks like out best player and one of the few you can't say doesn't give his all each week.
He was never going to play in League 2, hope he does as well for Lincoln as he has with Southend.

Doncaster in for Humphrys as well. Apparently Donny called the club and basically said, which of your players can we have. They were more than likely told 'any of them.' Seems Humphyrs is who they like.

Only sign of a player in so far is former Accrington left back Francis-Angol training with the club.

Yeah, Cowley tried to sign Hopper a couple of times. Lives in Lincoln, or did prior to his move to Southend and I'm assuming he kept his house on Burton Waters.

Appleton's probably looking for a striker who can link the play and offer a bit more of a physical threat but not a target man per se.

£150k according to Southend's end. Whether that's a straight £150k or made up of add-ons we'll soon find out.

Unusual for a Club to confirm an accepted offer? Can't think that we've ever done that, it's just the odd rumour and then official confirmation.

Odd statement as well, but I suppose that's not a great surprise given it's Ron Martin.

That statement reads: We're going down, we know we're going down, thank you to Lincoln City for making a decent offer for a player who will be on a free in 6 months time.
Oh and I can use the money to pay off the upcoming fine for not paying employees last month.
