a lot of things do need to change in football and existing rules and regs also need to be enforced properly.Yeah the PFA, as with just about every institution in football to be quite frank needs some reform at the top, but they seem to have fulfilled some purpose during the current crisis as we had to go through them to get the players to take a wage deferral (which I think is perfectly correct in my view given the purpose of the union)
Id argue that the owners in proposing the cap are kind of showing a bit of a disregard for the future of football and there clubs as well. Its a headline grabbing rule that is short termist, potentially catastrophically so, and fails to hold the owners themselves to account for their poor running of clubs. If they really cared we would have genuine reform of club ownership and the requirements and burdens put on them being on the table, not just salary caps.
