Hanlan was utterly useless when we had him in League Two.

We've apparently had a second bid for Humphrys turned down by Southend.

Not heard of Hanlan before, but seems to have a one in five scoring record. Not world beating, but a lot more prolific than Calvin Andrew :)

Posh sign Sammy Szmodics on a permanent from Bristol City, cracking signing for them.

Signed Rayheen Tulloch from West Brom and Tyreese John-Joules from Arsenal on loan both strikers/attacking midfielders

We had Tyreece last season for a bit before injury curtailed his loan spell. Appleton really liked him and I was expecting him to return. I didn't see much to him personally but to be fair players going out for their first loan spell isn't easy so he may well benefit from that for Donny.

Got to be honest, I didn't rate him. He's only a kid though, and maybe you're right about it being difficult for him on his first move. I imagine he must have something about him to be at Arsenal.

I think it was difficult for any of our loan players last season. He was decent enough but I wouldn't say he was at Tyler Walker level that we saw.

I'm a little surprised we didn't go back in for him but Arsenal loans are notoriously expensive and I imagine the Morton deal was far cheaper.

That's a worry. Do you want Brandon Hanlan?

DM and Henshall identified him has a target in January and given how well Sheaf came on as a player with us might have swayed Arsenal, Donny was the best place for his development.

TJJ had a promising home debut but after that struggled hugely and missed some absolute sitters before a broken foot ended his loan.
Only 19/20 so still learning his trade, unlike Walker who was 23/24 and was much more a finished article.

Apparently we had that John-Joules lined up but were unable to get him over the line due to the embargo as Arsenal loan fees decrease the more the player plays.

While I’m here, we’ve signed Dylan Levitt on a season-long loan from Man United.

We've landed one of our top targets - Scott Fraser late of Burton.

That's the middle sorted now and just one more needed up top. Apparently we have put in a 'record breaking' bid for our main target which is still under consideration - the hive mind reckons that this is Humphrys and it's now a straight battle with The Dale.

I suspect MK have more money than us*, but Humphrys has allegedly expressed a desire to return to the North West. Is MK far enough North and West for him, or can we scrabble down the back of the sofa and find a few more quid?

Is that a deffo about Tulloch? Not reported anywhere as done.

Local journo who covers us put it out on twitter yesterday also on the baggies but taken down later. Looks as though he jumped the gun, it’s dependent on WBA signing a striker which they have so I expect it to be announced shortly

Bristol rovers apparently signing Brandon Hanlan.
There is a good player in there but as a striker one of the worst finishers I have seen in my time supporting gillingham

Great pace but not much else, maybe finishing can be coached in to him but personally I think that’s more instinctive.

Any news at your end on how much you’ve paid?

No idea!

I thought he was on a free/we were paying compensation?

He wasn’t on a free due to his age, so you must have paid something

My guessing is a fee was agreed, if not they will have to pay all in one go with the tribunal fee

Heard between £200k and £300k, if that is the case we have mugged rovers right off

But its a decent price for the guaranteed 4 goals he'll score in the 2 games v us. Another 10 or 12 elsewhere and he'll be considered an absolute bargain.

If he can get 10-15 I'd be very happy.

Tbf we signed Matty Taylor who couldn't finish to save his life. JCH had an awful scoring record before joining too, so there's always hope. My bigger problem is the manager, although he's supposed to be a decent coach so let's see.

This Ayunga we've singed from Havant & Waterlooville looks quality though, will be interesting to see these 2 battle it out
