Humphreys now looking likely to be signing for Dale, which is remarkable given our financial plight, but probably heralds to way for Rathbone to be sold in order to pay for it.

We are in desperate need of a Left back and could do with another striker, but I won't hold my breath.

Will be quite a good signing. Apparently we ended our interest a while ago so I have no idea why we had been said to be neck and neck with you to sign him when it is now clear he was always going to the North West.

It does mean that our 'record transfer' bid that is still apparently active is now for a player that we haven't got a name for. Will Grigg is the next striker being linked and it makes sense for the club to bring back a club favourite after a really bad reaction to them selling two of our better players within a couple of weeks, but that would all depend on how badly Sunderland want to get rid of him as I can't imagine we'll go 7 figures for him now when we wouldn't in 2015.

In an ideal world:
LB Sam Hart (ex Blackburn, known quantity as a former loanee)
ST Joe Garner, rescued from the wreck of the SS WiganShambles

In the real world:
LB/ST Joe Bunney is available, and has played both positions for us before.

Humphrys confirmed by the club. With a cringeworthy video worthy of the Tinpot thread, which I'm not copying here...

We're also due a small fee for Kosovan U19 International Florent Hoti, who came through our youth teams, declined a professional deal last summer, spent a year having trials with Sheffield United, Bournemouth and others and has now signed for Dundee United in the SPL.

Signed Andy Butler until January, I know he’s getting on a bit but given the age of most of our squad, the fact he’s a Donny lad and former Captain it’s great cover and good for the dressing room

He’s done with football. We still hold his registration for another 2 years, but he’s independently wealthy, just become a father and cant be arsed with it.

Not sure if mentioned but we're signing Jordan Stevens on loan from Leeds. Winger. Wont be confirmed until a week Monday for some reason.

I'm gutted about Doughty retiring and wish him well in life.

Signing michael jacobs ex Wigan player. Won league 1 three times and played under KJ at Wolves. Sounds like a good signing for league one

Jacobs was probably the third best player I've seen play for us, and the best youngster we've ever produced. Always surprised that he never made it to the top.

Wouldn't have minded him coming back to us but would've been wage prohibitive on our budget, we'll have him after you've aged him a bit more... :bg:

Signed Daniel Csoka on a permanent deal, young centre half released by Wolves. Seemed decent enough in his trial against QPR. Expecting one more forward in apparently.

Noooo please take Bennett, for the love of god take the c***

Guessing his wage is just too high for us to be able to accommodate. Presume it will require a mutual termination of his contract for you to get him off your wage bill? When is he contracted until?

He was a squad player for us for the few seasons he was here. Personally don’t think he’d be good enough for L1.

Have to agree, he wouldn’t get into our team and flatters to deceive, looks like he’ll achieve something but ultimately doesn’t have any end product.

Wellens has been impressed with him in training, apparently. He sounds exactly like Woolery who has left for Tranmere.

He comes across as a really nice guy and a model professional, but from what we’ve seen of him I’d be a bit concerned if I was a Swindon fan looking at players of his ability for league 1, squad player might be a possibility but even that’d be a push IMO

Wellens has only really ever signed one dud - Adam May. I’m happy to go along with who he thinks is good enough.
