Doyle won’t get 25 for you either! Their records are similar but Pitman has consistently played at a higher level. Take out the goals Doyle scored under Wellens at both Oldham and Swindon and his record is average.

It’s not all about the players, it’s about having a manager who knows how to get the best out of them - something your rookie manager will have to learn quick. And losing your last 2 with an 8-1 aggregate loss, it isn’t looking good.
clutching at straws.....talk to me at 5 this evening
We have Bradford we will see where Doyle and Bolton are then...likewise Swindon i think you have a good indication where you are at against Charlton.......just be here tonight win/lose

I doubt it. Both managers have said they’re treating the game as a friendly and Wellens would rather have a free week than a 2nd round game to play. Be good to see the new players though.

If Swindon don’t beat us today they are in trouble.

if both managers said that i would be amazed.....all teams will be up for it today
The result may not matter, but the performance will

All teams fielded this afternoon will be the starting 11s bar injuries

I had forgotten about Yates in all honesty! Smith from Sheff United on loan is his replacement. Not sure exactly how good he is but reports suggest he’s going to have a bright future in the game.

No idea how Lincoln play or operated with Payne. We’ll be utilising Payne and Smith as attacking wingers, who can either cut in or get to the byline. I reckon both will get more than 2 goals this season personally.
Starter under Cowley but most of our attacks were down the wings not in his position through the middle. Then very little under Appleton but only a few minutes here and there. It looks like he played a lot but in reality, his minutes were very limited.

whats the story with otzumer?
superstar at walsall came our place never got a look in, went Charlton likewise

Just not really Championship standard, expect he’ll feature a lot more this season. Definitely showed a few flashes last season.

Giving Wigan a 2 goal start and then winning the game, this can only happen behind closed doors ! Still more than encouraging with a good smattering of kids in the team, the biggest shock is to reach the 2nd round of the Caribbo Cup.

Pray for Swindon.
Not required. We’ll be fine. Could have won it, probably would have if Jonny Smith had started and we had 2 proper CBs playing. Not much up front at the moment, either. Shouldn’t really be conceding goals to balls lumped into the box, though - that was worrying I concede.

Apparently very close to signing callum Johnson from Accrington. One of the best RBs in the division according to reports. Stats say he put in the most crosses. Don't really know much about him. Also in talks to sign Sammy szomdics from Bristol City on loan. Would be a great signing if we can get him. Still looking for another CB but someone would have to leave due to senior squad limits. Probably third GK to go out of loan

You need to play around Pitman. He can't run around, doesn't hold the ball much. But you give him half a chance and he'll score. Hasnt played at all for a year though. He had to go on herbal life during lockdown as he was very overweight.

You’re right. Lethargic in his cameo 10 minutes yesterday.

Appleton after a further attacking option, presumably a '10' or someone of similar ilk. We seem to have cover everywhere else and whilst we can move people around to get cover in there, he probably wants proper like for like.

Trying to sign Harry Souter from Stoke. Wanted him last summer, but told he wan't available at the begining of the window, ended up at fleetwood on loan. He's been in around stokes first team so not 100% they want to let him go

Derby have sold Jayden Bogle to Sheffield United - we have a sell on so should be getting a windfall. However the deal is 2 players for 11 million so no idea how it’s structured. Wouldn’t surprise me if they have Bogle at £500k and the other lad at 10.5 million so as to avoid losing too much on sell ons.

Signed Callum Johnson from accrington - apparently statistically one of the best RB in the division last season - we'll see

We've signed Benny Ashley-Seals from Wolves. Unproven, Accrington had him on loam in January but only for the shortened season. Wolves fans seem to like him.

These modern footballers really do sound more and more like regens from football manager every season!
Now confirmed. Probably straight into tomorrow's team for the Tinpot Trophy at Morecambe.

Still need a couple of forwards though.

These championship and premiership clubs with 50+ players most of whom will never get anywhere near the first team.

Most of these youngsters would be better signing for lower league clubs but I suppose it's living the dream isnt it?

Good, should have told him to stay away until he signed, he totally used us to keep fit with no intention of signing, he wont be missed
