Paul Smyth recalled by QPR then immediately sent to Accrington.

Not too bothered, wasn’t really getting any game time and was pretty ineffective when he did. Right decision for everyone probably.

We sold back up striker Don Telford to Newport probably for a nominal fee. Pleased for him, last year every time he got some form his hammy went. This year not really got a look in. We signed Ennis from Wolves recently, so he has gone further back in the pecking order. Don’t know if this means we are done or are looking for one more, presumably a utility back.

Apparently we’ve rejected a bid from a L1 club for our striker Ryan Bowman. Wonder who...Could be Bristol Rovers as they’re looking for a striker.

The striker appears to be Bogle on a permanent, done nothing since leaving Grimsby so I can’t say I’m over excited but then Darren appears to be able to get the best out of players

He was beyond dreadful when he played against us at the CG. One of the misses of the season. Steer clear.

Outstanding work from both Bogle’s agent and the club.

On his day Bogle is unplayable, unfortunately he is lazy, doesn't seem to be a naturally fit person, and has no clue how to just play it simple. He'll have to try and drag back, chop or some kind of trick when he gets the ball. You'll marvel when he pulls off something ridiculous, but then you'll be tearing your hair out when he can't just control the ball, shoot or pass it to someone next to him.

End of the day Darren Moore wants him and to be fair to Darren everyone he has brought in so far have been more than decent except Stirling and Tulloch but those two got long term injuries so don’t really count. I will reserve judgment on what we see of him.

In other news, we're being linked with Cohen Bramall, LB, from Colchester, who's out of contract in the summer.

Makes sense, Oxford will be financially able to gamble more than we can in terms of initial fee and 3.5 year contract.

Twitter linking us with Cohen Bramall from Colchester, I'd be pleased with this as despite how well Edun has done in the past month, he's not a natural full back and possibly allows Edun to learn off Bridcutt and play the holding roll. Max Melbourne although limited chances hasn't really impressed, perhaps he'll go the other way on loan?

Jorge Grant has signed a contract extension which is huge news, he's really improved under Appleton after a set two away at Wimbledon last year. Shows how far we've come that we can keep players such as Jorge.

So Telford goes and then is replaced by Ryan Hardie, who has been on loan from Blackpool. Two and half year deal, I think. There is a fee, but no idea how much.

Wonder if we might squeeze in a CB/ultility back?

Jorge Grant is quality, so it’s fantastic news we have tied him down to a contract extension. Think it’s 11 goals and numerous assists this season already. Surely one of the best CMs in this division for me so a very good piece of business, no doubt other bigger clubs would have liked to have signed him in the summer.

In one of the strangest transfers in recent times, Jordan Obita has signed for Wycombe for an undisclosed fee. We only signed him in September on a free! To be fair he is no longer first choice anyway and wasn’t likely on much. Very odd move.

As has been pointed out, we’ve also signed Luke McNally from St. Pats. We love an Irishman at OUFC!

Seven but one injured, DM picks his teams to tailor the opposition, I presume given the amount of 3 game weeks coming up he will rotate with Smith

Obviously losing Whiteman will be a blow but from the outside in you've invested well and Moore has been backed this window.

Looks like we may have an incoming as well before the game.

Regan Poole joins from MK Dons, came out the blue and not heard of him to be honest!

Right Back which is important as we don't have an out and out right back, in saying that TJ Eyoma has been great but if we want to kick on we do need a full back!

To be honest everything went through Ben but now we are seeing us move the ball more quickly. As much as losing him was a blow, the board have backed the manager and he’s got all the players he wanted this window.

Terrific news about Jorge Grant. I don't think I've ever witnessed such an improvement in a player in such a short space of time. He's already into double figures in goal, albeit most are set pieces and he's on for hitting double figures in assists as well. If he keeps his form up it's inevitable that he'll be sold but the new deals offers him security and us protection to at least get something for him (even if we might have had to put a minimum fee release clause in there).

Don't know much about Regan Poole but he appears to know 5 or 6 of our lot already through MK connections and also Wales U21's. We'll be needing a RB next season so I think this is one we've been able to do before the summer.

Looks like we're selling Harry Pickering to Blackburn for an initial fee of £650K which is disgustingly low for a player in the first year of a three year contract at the club. Add ons would take it to well over £2 million before the sell on percentage kicks in it seems but if he doesn't meet the vast majority of those add ons then we've absolutely been fleeced.

We're going to loan him back for the rest of the season, but I'm just baffled how you can develop a player for 15 years and accept a six figure initial fee when Northampton can sign Charlie Goode from Scunthorpe, get a solid year out of him and sell him for an initial £1 million. Walsall also got twice the initial fee we got for Pickering for Rico Henry and his add ons would bring them in tons of money. Hell, Exeter got tons more for Ethan Ampadu and he'd barely played for them whilst Pickering has nearly 150 games under his belt at two levels.

Whether the pandemic has reduced what we can ask for (even though Goode was sold in a pandemic), whether we undervalue our players or whether we have to put release clauses into contracts these days to sign players to long term contracts, something isn't right about this. This is a generational defensive talent for us who should be bringing in a fee fit for his description. We did well to get what we did for Perry Ng given he was about to be out of contract but for Pickering we best hope he meets the add ons else we've squandered a lot of cash.
