Sky Sports reporting we’ve made a £500k bid for Charlie Kirk.

Not looking forward to today, already looks like we’re losing Pickering for 650 k plus add ons, maybe with him returning on loan for the rest of the season. Latest rumour is Charlton have bid 500k for Charlie Kirk. Again unless there is some clause in his contract he’s worth 3 times that, so hopefully we reject. Plus he’s better than league 1.?

Inevitable that clubs are gonna come in with derisory offers, we’ve brought it on ourselves with the Pickering situation. Clubs will suspect that a number of our players will have low buy out clauses.

Our local journo has confirmed a deal is being worked on. Whatever that really means.

Sounds like he’s being targeted to replace Jonny Williams.

Would be happy with that.

Well if he does have a buy out clause, it would at the very least be the rumoured 800k that was in the Pickering contract. However, I suspect it will probably be slightly more, as the club have always maintained that Kirk is a million pound player. So 500k is an absolute non-starter for him. It will have been rejected with no discussion.

Fair enough. May just be a tester.

Generally the way Bowyer works though is he bids what he wants to pay and if not accepted walks away. Been a few examples of that.

Guess it all depends on how badly he wants him and what his plans for him would be.

That said, Williams is confirmed to be having a medical at Cardiff today so think we’ll be looking to get it done.

I suspect clubs know exactly what the buy out clause is, and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this is the 1st of many tempters for Kirk today. Will somebody meet the asking price? If it’s less than a million, then I think they probably will. More than a million, then it gets a bit harder for clubs to justify, what with the Covid situation.

Quite worried now. I think he may go today, along with Pickering who is off to Blackburn.

Not expecting anything now unless we lose someone so I suppose it depends how much Preston want Wright
Don't think there was much in that, supposedly signing Liam Lindsay from Stoke on a permanent deal, getting Van Der Berg on loan from Liverpool as part of the Ben Davies deal and Kipre on loan from West Brom is/ was an option.

Cant see us selling Kirk to a club in the same division. We've very rarely done that with our best players. We did it with Colclough but Wigan were about to go 2 divisions higher than us.

Kirk deserves a chance in the Championship anyway. And I think he'll only leave us for that level.

Sounds like it's going to be a very busy day for us at the Franchise Dome. Will Grigg, Olly Casey, Zak Jules and Cohen Bramall all linked.

Twitter also seems to believe that Joe Piggott is in discussions about joining us from AFC. Seems like despite the animosity between the fans, Joe Palmer and Andy Cullen are on speaking terms and there's genuine interest even if not a formal bid.

I think you are right, I would be very surprised if clubs did not know the buy-out clause of a lot of players.

Regan Poole decent? Not sure we'll see much of him, if any, until next season, mind.

I just posted on the Lincoln forum (my username from my uni days) about him.

He's very good but with the way we're playing and the signing of Ethan Laird he wasn't going to get a look in at wing back, and he was probably our 4th choice centre back so wasn't going to get as much game time in the second half of the season. You've paid us a decent amount and Russell Martin has said that Poole went about it all brilliantly and he felt comfortable allowing the player his move. It's one of those where the initial reaction was shock because of when it was announced, but when the manager spoke about it in detail at the end of his AFC post match presser then it really does make a lot of sense all round.

We've been linked to getting Joe Grayson in on loan from Blackburn. He is now following us on Twitter if that means anything.

Signing Pigott would be a popular move with the Wimbledon fans! He'd be hated by them.

RB Aaron Lewis departs by mutual consent.

A weird one really. Cowley signed him on a 6 month deal, Appleton gave him an 18-month extension but only played 5 times since he's been here and did well in all of them. He was a little unlucky to have Eardley in front of him last season.

Something definitely happened though because he never had a sniff this season. I think the turning point was him getting injured on Wales U21 duty, to be out for weeks and then going straight off to U21 duty again when he was fit rather than hanging around here, building up his fitness and getting game time in the Pizza Cup for us.

He went to Newport on loan in the first half of the season and only made two appearances there as well so I'm not sure if has an attitude problem or not.

MA preferred Gotts (CM) and Anderson (winger) at RB over him and was fairly vocal about him needing to leave.

We've signed Max Clark on a short term deal from Vitesse Arnhem. Bit of a shock considering PL clubs were interested when he was playing regularly in the Eredvisie.

Confirmed Harry Pickering signed for Blackburn but loaned back to us until the end of the season. Fee thought to be £650,000 with add ons potentially 1m. Gutted he will be leaving especially as he’s worth more. But he deserves the move and it will be good to at least enjoy him until the end of the season.

Confirmed that Joe Grayson has signed on loan. Don't know anything about him other than he can play left-back, left sided centre back and defensive midfield. And he was watching our game with Fleetwood on Saturday with his dad Simon Grayson with both wanting a different winner.

Signed Conor Shaughnessy from Leeds to add to our Irish contingent.

Kwadwo Baah has gone to Man City for £500k plus add ons, and been loaned back for the rest of the season.

Sounds like the Kirk move is off.

Sounds like we're frustrated as was confident it was going to happen. Can only assume Crewe moved the goal posts once the Pickering deal was confirmed.

We rarely move goalposts when selling players. They have a fair price set by the club and it is either paid or it’s not, it’s a unwritten agreement that ensures our youngsters stay and trust the club. I would dare say Charlton didn’t match that price at any point (£500k is an absolute insult if that rumour is true) or Kirk wasn’t interested. Right now, not sure why he would be interested. Guaranteed a move to the Championship in the summer.

Frank Nouble off on loan back to Colchester. He should get more starting time there. Good luck to him.

Something to do with an unofficial agent

Can any Crewe fans shed any light on what the other occasion was?
