We've signed Max Clark on a short term deal from Vitesse Arnhem. Bit of a shock considering PL clubs were interested when he was playing regularly in the Eredvisie.

You've had a cracking window and will be a huge failure if you don't make it up. Not sure how you managed to do that within the salary cap but fair play!

Something to do with an unofficial agent

Can any Crewe fans shed any light on what the other occasion was?
Perry Ng to Cardiff at the start of the month. It’s a former player doing it.

No idea what he’s doing. He obviously knows about the contract situations.

So you reckon he's falsely told us Kirk is available? or a case of trying to hijack the deal?

All very odd.

Unsure. I suspect he’s told you there is a buy out clause and you have chucked an offer in not a million miles away from it. I would guess if Charlton were confident this morning, that the buy out isn’t far off 500k? I’m a bit confused why you haven’t upped the offer. Contrary to what other Crewe fans have said, if an offer was accepted I’m sure Kirk would go. Charlton are a far bigger club and will be playing at a higher level than Crewe for much of the remainder of Kirk’s career. Not to mention a hefty pay rise.

Actually the more logical conclusion is the former player got the buy out wrong, and it’s more than Charlton are willing to pay.

Yeah it's a strange one. I'm sure more will come out eventually.

Perhaps we have upped the offer? According to the local journo we are frustrated as we were confident of getting it done so doesn't sound like a case of just not offering enough.

I'm never going to bemoan a boring deadline day again.

Let's just say hes not great, feel for you that we took Cundy and you know have Drysdale
I think you’ve got the better deal for sure. Wasn’t he played out of position?

He was but looked better when in midfield, looked way out of his depth in central defence which is a worry as that's his natural position

Eliott Lee going out on loan to Oxford for the rest of the season apparently.

Was absolutely brilliant in the first part of our league 1 winning season playing as a 10 at the top of our midfield diamond. Goals, assists and lots of trickery but kind of tailed off a bit after an injury. Started our first game in the championship but clear he’s not really up to the jump up imo. Been played this season and back end of last on the left wing which isn’t really he position but he worked really hard on the defensive side of his game to make it at least an option for us.

Thought he would for sure pitch up at Gillingham with his brother but think Oxford is a good move for him. Not sure what shape Oxford play but with a run of games in an attacking midfield/10 role he’ll have an impact.

Aji Alese Accrington fans? We've just signed him on loan until the end of the season. Very highly rated at West Ham.

Signed Conor Shaughnessy from Leeds to add to our Irish contingent.

Kwadwo Baah has gone to Man City for £500k plus add ons, and been loaned back for the rest of the season.
And now we've signed another Irish player Conor Grant from Sheffield Wednesday. I must admit; I know little about either of the two incoming lads.

Plus, Fabio Tavares has been sold to Coventry, which would have been very low down on my guess list of possible transfers. And we have got money for him to boot, which is breathtaking.

Oh...City reporting that they have got a "snip" at well under £500k for Baah, so it looks like we have had to take their offer as we are short of cashflow.

We still haven't signed what we have needed for a year now. A decent left back. BBM is probably scouring the Irish footballers list as we speak.

Supposedly agreed a deal for Josh Morris from Fleetwood but depending on them getting a replacement.

Hoping they don’t.

He’s about our 6th choice. Can’t be arsed with it.

We've signed Declan Drysdale. What's he like Gills fans?
I’m in the minority of Gills fans but I believe Drysdale is OK.
He made one bad mistake which cost us a goal and from then on he seemed to become the whipping boy (Jackson now seems to have that dubious honour).
He is big and physical and can play a bit.
He is still a bit naive but I reckon if he had an experienced centre half alongside him he could be a decent player.
I wish the lad well.

Blimey, we are doing some business. Now Scott Wotton our on loan to Wigan. Quite a few fans had it in for him, and he was the whipping boy a bit. Unfairly in my mind. A clean break should do him well.

Confirmed.
Hope he does well for you, he was genuinely brilliant that League 1 winning season, he scored in that final game that we actually won the league against you with a good finish, that goal is what he is all about. I think if he has a good loan he could be had in the summer.

Seen a few of your fans suggesting he could play wide on the basis of that being where he played for us this season. He can play there but number 10 drifting into the left channel so he cut in his on his right foot his definitely his position. Only played wide for us because we cant afford to play with a 10 at Championship level.

Certainly adds options to the squad and many were pleased to see him sign. If rumours are true then we are signing Brandon Barker, a fast winger on loan from Rangers (ex-Man City) and possibly Nicky Cadden from Forest Green so wingers should be sorted if that is the case.

Are Rangers also going to loan you some ligaments for his legs?

For some reason Crewe have signed a CH from Boro for seemingly no reason whatsoever.

Zak Jules in from Walsall completes the remodelling of our backline. Hopefully the Grigg loan deal will be done tonight but in any case it's been a brilliant window with upgrades throughout the squad.

And Walsall have taken Max Melbourne on loan from us to replace him. We're hoping that means we're taking Cohen Bramall from Colchester....

Signed striker Troy Parrot from Spurs along with defensive right Matheson from Wolves who is highly rated - but also a life long Norwich fan - we're hoping it's not part of a ploy with Lambert to take us to League Two...

Brandon Barker confirmed.

So with Luke McNally, Elliott Lee and Joe Grayson signed as well as Barker has been a decent window.

The squad appears stronger than when the window started considering we have lost Sean Clare, Jordan Obita and Joel Cooper (for personal reasons gone back to Linfield on loan). It looks like we may have made a profit on transfer fees as well thanks to Jordan Obita, who we signed on a free 4 months or so before selling him.

Nicky Cadden was obviously just internet rumour.

Max Sanders completes our business who joins on a permanent deal from Brighton. Had a loan spell at AFC Wimbledon. Never heard of him tbh.

Edit to say Brighton seem to think highly of him, I suspect it was a late deal as we weren't in particular need of another CM and one that was probably too good to turn down.

Zak Jules signs for £100k and Will Grigg signs on loan. Honestly this window has probably been the best we've ever had. Got rid of players that were mainly out of favour other than Keogh for decent money and replaced them with young and talented players that fit the system cheaply, and we've brought in a fans favourite in Will Grigg.
