Josh McEachran has signed a short term contract after training with us since being released by Birmingham at the end of the year. Was once the 'next big thing' at Chelsea and highly regarded at Brentford but his career hasn't lived up to his potential. Added to Fraser, Gladwin, Surman, Thompson, O'Riley, Sorenson and Houghton, there's plenty of competition for the midfield 3 even with Kasumu's recovery having another setback. It seems that Russell Martin is as an enthusiastic collector of midfielders as Ince once was.

We’ve signed Lee Camp until the end of the season.

Good signing, 6 months too late!

Joe Walsh signs a new deal with us. Sounds like he had a year to run but we've extended until 2023 with an option.

Rolls-Royce of a defender and we're defensively much, much better with him in the side but he's only played 19 times this season. When we have the Walsh/Jackson/Bridcutt triangle through the centre we don't look like conceding.

Because of a wear and tear knee issue we can't really get three games a week out of him so hopefully next season we'll get more out of him.

Good news, classy defender and not seen an opposition attacker get the better of him this season.

The big but is fitness issues, been a big miss when injured but without those injury issues he'd be in the Championship no doubt.

Life’s been good for Joe then? Sorry, one one of my favourite songs.

....but his better album was 'The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get'.

Back to football - Joe was fantastic for most of his time in MK, but occupied the sick bay way too often which is why his move wasn't seen as a surprise round these parts. You'll just have to live with that reality.

Talented, inexperienced, good feet, can bring the ball out of defence, gets caught out of position at times.

Definitely one for the future. Should bring in a few quid - not to Power, hopefully.

We're being linked with a summer move for Jordan Graham from Gills. Briefly played under Appleton on loan at Oxford.

Jack Payne wanted by Barnsley. He's been great recently in a real shower of ineptitude but don't think he is top half Champ material somehow.

We as a club are seriously fucked. 7 players under contract for next season and I doubt any of them want to stay. Unless we can change ownership we are going to be non-league sooner rather than later.

Wouldn’t be surprised.
Was absolute quality first half of the season but has looked disinterested the last couple of months and spends a lot of time throwing his arms up in the air in frustration.
To be fair to him the style of football we play is not suited to someone who likes the ball on the green stuff.
There is a very good player in there though.

Linked with Jordan Rhodes, and less believably a tongue in cheek few articles about Didier Drogba, our owners friend, aged 43, 3 years retired.

Us and (shock!) Millwall linked to Cameron Brannagan at Oxford. I've heard of him but that's about it.

Think we've watched Atkinson quite a bit too but I think he'll be snapped up by someone higher up the food chain, based on what I've heard about him. Sounds a top prospect.

Cam Brannagan has a significant release clause (over a £m but how far over don't know) which is in the new long term contract he signed in the summer. Could have lost his eyesight, at least in one eye, earlier in the season after a rare eye infection (2 or so cases a year nationally). The club and management were excellent in their support for him from reports and he already had an affinity for the club so I don't think it is a transfer he will actively push for. Both parties were happy with the agreed release clause but only gleamed from snippets, no direct knowledge.

Cam Brannagan is a quality player but has taken him a while to get back from the eye infection. It will take a bid at that release clause level to get him I reckon, especially if the internal takeover by Erick Thorir and others (already shareholders anyway) is confirmed. We aren't in need of money at the moment according to the club, even without the takeover, and posted a profit well over £1m in the last accounts. Obviously income has since taken a hit but then it has for everyone.

I doubt Rob Atkinson will go anywhere in the summer but there is a risk that his centre back partner, the excellent Elliott Moore leaves. I hope we can get Elliott Moore to sign a new contract though. Rob Atkinson really needs at least another season playing regularly as a starter to continue his development. I think long term he will be better than Rob Dickie who seems to be doing the job in the Championship.

I don't think a £1m+ fee would deter us too much if we're keen on him. Managed to get a deal done for Whiteman and paid over a million in the summer for Riis.

No idea if it's a concrete rumour though.

Seen some rumours linking Swindon and Steve Evans. Anything in that? I thought Swindon were borassic - where are they gonna get the fifties to stuff in the brown envelope? Is he likely to leave Gillingham? I think he's a stain on football, but he does actually seem to be doing a decent job there.

Power says we’re broke because

1. He has actually bled us dry
2. He wants to put us in Admin so he can push through a dodgy club sale even though there is a buyer willing to buy the club as it is
3. Virtually all sponsors have pulled out until he goes
4. Nobody is buying a ST until he goes

Think it’ll be sorted before this month is out. How is the question.

Dan we have swapped some shite last summer but when a owner is like yours the is not a lot you can do but get him out of the club and hopefully these new owners will still be there to mop up the mess.
Seem to be mirroring us from three seasons back...................This was pre pandemic and i genuinly fear for your club

Power definitely wants out. But there is a whole lot of shite that’s going to be fallout when he’s gone. I’d imagine we, as fans, don’t know the half of it yet. We’d all be pleased just to see him go, get whatever sanctions the FA decide and start again.

Any news on Scott Twine? He has been linked with us since January (and probably half of the Championship).

Is Scott Twine actually any good? He seems to be living off a few long range strikes for Newport in this loan spell there in the first half of the season.
