Yeah, Dario Gradi was on drugs, he was nothing special. Not sure how playing every week in L1 would have been more beneficial to playing every week in the Championship.Basically, he was the first one of our academy graduates to run his contract down and go for a tribunal-set fee. I'm not sure he was ever as good as Dario thought but I think Dario felt that if he'd signed a new contract and stayed for another year or two he could have gone to a better team and we'd have got more more money for him. The feeling was that he went for the money and should have stayed for another year or two. Dario thought he could have played for England but I think he probably made the most of his ability tbh.
Was pretty average for the most part with us, bar one really good season and did well to make it as a squad player in the top flight. He did ok for himself and used the system well to move up the ladder.
