I wonder if Ellis will return to Rovers ?
I'd imagine he'd want to stay in League One at the moment. He's probably got used to pretty good wages at Ipswich and then us. Who knows though? If there aren't many takers now or in the summer then he may fancy a return home.

He's had a roller coaster with us. Always seemed to pick up an injury every time he got close to nailing down a first team place. A handful for defences but his goalscoring record isn't good.

Got bodies in......Darcy,Charles,Amaechi and maybe Jones and Tutte will give us more options.
I expect Evatt will have brought a minimum 2/3 players when we next play against Hartlepool in the pie and peas trophy
Well we've had a good start to the window, let's hope we get the rest of our targets. Hopefully Fossey is of the same mould as Kioso

As good as he is on the ball, and he is bloody class with it at his feet, there is no end product there. He holds onto it for too long and never shoots when in good positions.

I think our fans' responses to him not signing a new deal tell you all you need to know about him. We're much happier with Callum Wright being back.
Yeah he seemed nice & tidy on the eye in terms of linking up when we played you but we don't see him every week. If he had end product he'd be still playing in the champ I presume. Thought it was weird how Hull released him after a promotion in which he managed 22 games in. Wright does seem a talent, very good move for you to get him back for another season.

We were in for him on deadline day in the summer for a loan but for some reason it fell through. We were playing that night in the pizza cup & it probably just didn't get done in time. Can't say I was that bothered as it's easy to look at his record & see it's nothing to write home about but can't say I've seen him much to judge. Doubt we'll be back in for him

Alfie Lewis is set to sign for us in the next 24-48 hours from St Patrick's Athletic F.C.

Ben Williams from Barnsley and Kion Etete on loan from Spurs are the names being linked with us.

Williams is coming off a big injury last season, but apparently is a decent League One standard left back.

Etete has been at Northampton and been recalled by Spurs to be sent to us. Only 3 goals in 18 games though which is a concern.

He's today been linked with Championship Clubs, Hibs and Aberdeen but the article comes across as a bit of agent talk given that he's out of contract in the summer.
Sounds like there might be something in McGrandles back to Scotland, if not in January, then in the summer. Suspect we'd be prepared to let him leave and get a fee for him if we were able to sort replacement(s) out.

Dont let his goal record fool you, hes been excellent. In a team that is pretty direct and resolute he has been fantastic. Started off slowly in the league but still held the ball up well, is a lot quicker than his size would suggest and has great technique. His finishing was improving as the season progressed.

Still needs to learn some of the darker arts of the games. He never seemed to be awarded fouls despite clearly being pulled around everywhere. Needs to adjust slightly in that regard and also occasionally would take too many touches. I understood that though as at times he would get isolated so wanted to do more himself.

Not one of those players that comes on loan from a premier league club that is destined to be released and play non league. He has a huge amount of talent and I am curious to see how he does in a team more offensive minded (I would assume).

Its a huge blow to us.

Etete played a few games for Notts as a sixteen year-old and you could tell he had real talent and the physical frame to become a proper player. Was quickly poached by Spurs but imagine it’s very much in our interest that he does really well.

Kyle Wootton to Portsmouth from us won’t go away.

Yes, it's a persistent rumour. I reckon we probably still need to get someone out the door before we move. Do you think he can make the jump up?

I hope so, he’s a great lad, but I’m not sure. He’s great at our level because he’s a target man who’s good in the air, fantastic with his feet and pretty mobile, and we create enough chances that his fairly wasteful finishing isn’t so much of an issue, but in League One you’re going to get fewer chances and need to be more clinical. He’s improved loads since we changed manager and have been playing a more expansive brand of football as well, which never exactly used to be the Cowleys’ style.

He sounds similar style to George Hirst who we have on loan from Leicester. Hirst fits well into how the Cowleys want to play so Wootton would seem to be a long term replacement as it's unlikely we'd be able to afford Hirst on a permanent deal. The Cowleys must think he can keep on improving.

We do have a long tradition of signing wasteful finishers so there's that also!

Etete looked good against us in the FA cup. I'm surprised we're not in for him as back up to Ironside.

It was 5-6 years ago when we had him on loan, but I'm always amazed when I see how well Wootton has done for Notts. Seemed like a lump with no redeeming features when we had him.

We had him on loan around the same time as you then and he was the same for us. He'd have only been 18/19 at the time I think.

He did for us for the first few weeks, but I think he’s someone who’s really benefited from a bit of love and being made the main man. Seemed like his career before was all short loan moves and being in-and-out of the team at Scunthorpe, but we put a lot of trust in him paying a fee to get him permanently etc, and he’s consistently got better and better for us. Deserves a second shot at the league for sure, just hopefully not until the summer!

He seemed a nice lad, so I certainly wish him well.

Just goes to show you should never judge a player on a month here or there. I still struggle to accept Joe Rodon is a Welsh regular and on the fringes of the Spurs first team.

Too true. Michael Smith and Sonny Bradley spring to mind for us.

Smith was given dog's abuse by our fans a few years back in League 2. Now on 20 goals for the season, I see. Pretty good last year in the Championship too.

Sonny Bradley was seen as a bit of a headless chicken for us down in League 2. Now coping well in the Championship.

Some players just need to find a coach who knows how to get the best out of them.

Signed a striker on loan from Norwich till the end of the season, Tom Dickson-Peters. Has a decent record in their development squad if that counts for anything

I see Sunderland have signed Trai Hume from Linfield who we have been strongly linked with since the summer!

Marcel Lavinier rumoured to be joining on loan from Spurs. We seem to be getting a pick of their U’23’s with Okedina and Tracey joining on loan and then permanent.

Lavinier likely to be back up in defence as can play anywhere across the back four. He was in their Europa league 25 man squad last season.

Bury fans offered to drive Michael Smith to us so it just shows it's all about having a manager that believes in you, plus a coach like Richie Barker to offer his guidance.

It was odds on he would look like a failure taking over from Keiffer Moore but one thing Rotherham supporters value above all else is someone who will work bloody hard.
This helped Michael settle in and bought a bit of patience from the fans even when he wasn't scoring that many.

This season he has been incredible, maybe because he is a bit more selfish now and because he has been told to get in the six yard box more often.
Pity for him he is 30 otherwise I think there would be a lot more interest in him and he might get himself a decent payday.

We are supposedly in for Stuart Findlay along with half of League One and Championship.

Also linked with Mark Beevers who we know very well. He’s 32 now and wants to move back home so it would make sense with our current defensive crisis. I think we could do a lot worse in L1 although I’ve not seen him play for a while.
