Dominic Thompson confirmed from Brentford until the end of the season, impressive.

Expect him to start at Wednesday with KVY suspended, coupled with Penney & Coulson lacking match fitness.

Good left back. We had him on loan last season and he was man of the match on his debut at Portman Road, getting 3 assists. Unfortunately then he got 'Sheridaned' and turned shit but he's been in and around the Brentford first team so he's clearly a good player. It will be interesting to see how he does when properly managed in league 1.

Good luck with his agent!!!

He'll want his pound of flesh, after moving the goalposts several times.

We’ve pulled out the deal after “closely scrutinising” it so you could be right!

MA's confirmed we're done unless something crops up last minute, so a calm final few days for us.

No bids for any of our players either, although I'm half expecting someone to try and prise Scully away at last minute but I think it'll be too late now, I'm not sure the Board/MA would sanction it unless it was silly money.

We were expecting another winger although a left back is being mooted but with Bogle gone and his wages freed plus the possibility of Ed Williams also moving on. I wouldn’t be surprised to see 3 more come in, we needed a new team and aren’t far off getting one :bg:

Irish press reporting that Rotherham United are to sign 25 year old striker Georgie Kelly, medical Friday.

This despite Warney denying any interest for weeks.
I hope it is true and Ladapo is on his way.
Bloke on our forum who is an expert on young & Non league players -- Reckons this Kelly is very good.

Rumoured our end that Sadlier is off to Bolton which would be a shame but he doesn't really fit in with our style of play.

He's a skillful player with a great shot and decent set pieces but he can't play wing back because he lacks concentration and lets players in behind him.
If he had any pace he could easily start for a team in the championship, alas pace is difficult to coach.

Anyone at Bolton hearing the same?

That’s what I’ve seen too. Interesting … assume that he’s played wing back for you? Wonder if we are thinking that now we have gone to 3/5 atb. If we get Dempsey too I can’t see where he would fit in otherwise unless Dempsey plays deeper in midfield… or is Sadlier instead of Dempsey for the number 10 spot?

Think he is more of a replacement for Bakayoko/Fonz......Evatt said fringe players can go out on loan or can be unregistered. Word is there has been some movement from Gillingham over Dempsey

Yup we've got Sadlier, if we add Dempsey to him I'll be over the moon with our window

He (the agent) messed us around after we'd agreed a permanent deal for Browne, asking for more money, and then offered him to you as a way of upping the ante. We then backed out and said we wouldn't be held to ransom, and Karl Robinson did one of his scathing interviews on our local radio, slating "a certain player's agent"

Still wouldn't be surprised if we signed him on a permanent though, but on our terms.

Sadlier isn’t a wing back, he doesn’t have the pace, he’s more of a sit behind the striker type of player

Can see him rotating with Dapo as our 10 in behind two strikers. Lee's been filling in there but he's more of a deeper midfielder by trade. We've gone from having no bench at all to having very good options now which they'll all need to play a part with the heavy schedule coming up especially next month

We're about to confirm Tariq Uwakwe on loan from Chelsea.

EDIT - Confirmed but not on loan, he's signed an 18 month contract.

Doncaster getting Ben Jackson on loan... can't speak highly enough about him. Top lad & a very good footballer who can play in lots of positions. His winner away at Morecambe basically got us promoted!

Well on paper this is a very good window, Dempsey would be the icing on a decent cake, good luck to Jackson really liked the lad down here last year.

Ryan Alebiosu confirmed on loan from Arsenal, right wing back.

I think Terrell Thomas's contract has been terminated. It's a shame because he looked good when he first came in but for whatever reason it just hasn't worked so it's probably the right thing for everyone.

Yes totally agree, he doesn't keep his concentration and allows players to get in behind him. He also only really likes to run forward and seems unwilling to do the dirty stuff.

He isn't quick enough to be a winger either but it would have been nice to see him just behind one striker and see what he could do with no responsibility on him to chase back.

We play 2 up front so we don't have that position in our set up.
You can see he has skill and can shoot with either foot so if Evatt can accomodate him, he will have a much greater chance of being successful.

I hope he does really well and helps Bolton take some points off the teams around us.

Never thought Rotherham was a good fit for him, given how you play, he didn’t seem to fit the type of player you normally get, like you I hope he does well as I have nothing bad to say about him

Yes think he is head and shoulders better than Gordon and will turn out a better player than John
Looks like 50k up front for sadlier plus nominal bonuses. So we’ve basically swapped politic for sadlier and still have a sell on for politic. Great business by the club.

We had Masterson on loan and he started well but then lost his way. Not the most physical and gets bullied by big strikers.

Georgie Kelly signed on a 3 1/2 year deal, it's a gamble with someone unproven in the EFL but there was no transfer fee to pay as he was out of contract.

Obviously Paul Warne sees him as Michael Smith's eventual replacement but it will be interesting to see them play together for half a season.
Unless of course someone comes in for Smith rather than wait for his contract to run out.

Really solid and consistent as a proper left back in a back four. Limited going forwards but fine if you just want to lock up the left side. Sorry to see him go but we seem to be all in on the wing back system now.
Now confirmed on a 2 and a half year deal. Given we play a back 4 and have been very leaky down the left, this looks like a good signing for us. The extra experience and influence will also be useful for our very young squad.

Just need to find a replacement for Palmer now. Rumours we will be getting a striker from Ipswich. Hoping for Piggott, but maybe Simpson or Jackson?
