I don’t really know what we’re playing at with that one (not that I understand much of how our club is run at the moment), we’ve had a couple of decent bids for Dempsey and Oliver (yours for Dempsey seems very fair and he’s out of contract soon). I’d accept, clear the covid loan which has forced our transfer embargo, then get on with it this transfer window finding a replacement.Hope I'm wrong but can't see us getting the Dempsey one over the line at this rate. Pretty sure Wrexham got bored of waiting on thier bid for Gills striker Olivier & just got Palmer instead. In Dempsey's perspective he'll most likely get some very lucrative contracts thrown his way if no fee has to be paid in the summer for him & is probably not going to force a move through this window for that reason. We won't bid any more than what we value him at when he's only got 6 months left, we'll have a few alternatives in the background just in case even if it's just a short term loan. Evatt is so big on him because he'll bring leadership & experience which we'll not get in younger loanees that's why he won't throw in the towel & call it a day on him.
Instead we haven’t got a manager or any cash and we’re running out of time to do anything to try to desperately save our season this window. Having said that I think we’re as good as down as it is, in which case, I’d still take the cash.
