Saw a diabolical rumour that we're interested in Cole Stockton. Would be a seriously grim signing, 28 and had one decent season in his life. Hopefully just a lazy link.

Obviously I want Iredale to stay but if he goes then so be it. We have some good defenders and will obviously sign some more, and have coped without him for the last couple of months until his return a couple of games ago. Okedina is the key for me as he’s got more resale value.

Ironside is under contract until end of next season, we’re learning to play without Hoolahan (last started mid March) and, while there are several others (May, O’Neil, Taylor, Dunk) out of contract in the summer, none would be disastrous if they left.

I’d be sad if Iredale and May left but we’d cope. You’ve got to remember we lost Paul Mullin and Kyle Knoyle last season, then were written off as relegation certs. But we just copee and adapted.

Look out North West clubs, Joe Rafferty may be ending up at your place on a free this summer.

He tries...

A few rumours from our end.

Mitov and Iredale will go this summer. The latter on a free and Mitov will command a fee.

Will Norris in from Burnley (I personally see that as an upgrade on Mitov)

Michael Morrison from Reading has apparently signed but won’t be announced until after the season ends. Ex Cambridge academy and good mates with Bonner.

We were (quite randomly i thought at the time but we sold Sluga shortly after) linked with Mitov in January. We will certainly be needing a keeper in the Summer so wondering if that interest was just smoke or something more. Any good?

Quite possibly could be if you’re looking for competition. I think we’d be open to selling if it’s true we are bringing Will Norris back as personally I think he would be an upgrade.

Mitov has improved a hell of a lot and got a lot of attention after the Newcastle game and rightly so. He’s been excellent since but for me he’s still too lightweight and doesn’t come for crosses. However he is a fantastic shot stopper and still young. If we can get 500-800k for him I’d take it.

Iredale has confirmed he's leaving. All the noises points towards signing for Bolton.

A true lockdown legend and I wish him well.

seeing as we've played each other four times in the past two seasons I know of his name but can't recollect him much in the games. Is he a top end of L1 type of player in your opinion? Won't be a big overhaul

Yeah he's easily good enough to play for a top 10 league one side. Some would argue he should be going to the Championship. Wigan and Preston were interested in him as well so you should see it as a good signing.

He can play LB, LCB, LW, LWB and even played a few games in CM for us.

I’m not sure if he’ll be a good signing for them. Don’t get me wrong, excellent player for us but he’s known more for his defending than his “passing it sideways among the back three” which is what I suspect will be his role there. There’s nothing wrong with him on the ball, it’s just not his strength.

But yes, I wish him all the best. Been a superb player for us for two seasons.

The first Alfie May rumour has surfaced - apparently Blackburn want him.

I'll believe that when I see it - no way is Alfie good enough for the Championship.

First rumour on Exeweb…Janoi Donacien was apparently at our game on Saturday. It could be that he’s friends with Jevani Brown and was there to support him, but it could also be that we’re trying to sign him.

Any opinions on him from Ipswich, Accy or Fleetwood fans?

he was shite for us, but he really seemed to kick on after he left us and I've been impressed with him the few times I've seen him since, always thought, "where did that quality come from?".

Lowe was supposedly at a Lincoln game recently, our fans think he was watching Brook Norton-Cuffey who is on loan from Arsenal.

Also whispers that Cameron Brannagan at Oxford is a target.

Cheers. Admittedly I know very little about him, but knew the name. I hadn’t realised he’d played 40 odd games for Ipswich this season, so I highly doubt this has any legs to be honest.

Well pleased with our recruitment in the past two windows, so to start off with such a positive signing before the play offs are even over is a great sign, Iredale fits in perfectly and gives additional cover along the back line. Hats off to Evatt and Markham Fossey next and then concentrate on the back four and we wont be far away.

Ok see what your saying but Fossey was much more than an out and out defender it was his ability going forward that caught the eye, i am now hoping for a commanding centre back or two and a permanent Keeper or Trafford again.

Full backs/Wing backs should not be classed as defenders in the modern game, especially if a team plays three centre-backs. They are wingers in all but name.

Iredale is a left sided defender and is not a wingback

Iredale is very versatile, quick and can beat a man - can play CB, LB, LWB, LW and at a pinch CM. Has performed well in all positions for us. From what I've seen he's probably a better LWB than John.

When I got to speak to Iredale he said his preferred position is LM. He grew up playing LW but it sounds like you've very much signed him as LCB.

His defending got better and better over the two years we had him but for the first year he was suspect at defending one v one at left back. Personally I think he looked much better at CB because he got more time on the ball and his distribution is excellent.

From what I've seen I'd have him over John at LWB if that's where you choose to play him.

Declan John has his injury problems especially with his back issues but on his form it would be seriously harsh to drop him, DJ & Fossey were incredible together on the opposite flanks as the marauding high flying wing backs. DJ managed 4 goals & 7 assists which is really decent numbers tbf the only critique of John is that in a flat back four as the natural LB he struggles getting out to stop the crosses coming in on the defensive side. Worth noting too that John is one of Evatt's favourites as Evatt captained him at Chesterfield when John was a youngster on loan there from Cardiff so has full believe in his ability whilst also being one our current highest earners. Hearing everything about Iredale he sounds a lot like a left footed Gethin Jones a full back who can be converted into a wide centre back... a versatile, solid, 7/10 every game who gives 110% & if he is that'll be great for us!

Panutche Camara will be leaving the club and up for transfer I think he'll be heading for the Championship or staying in League 1.
