Not a bad squad player. Was on a lot at WHU but understood to have been asking for more realistic wages.

Could do a lot worse.
Manning worked with him when he was a coach at West Ham so should know him. No marquee loan signings yet so hopefully we aren't going to fill our team with too many. We still need a decent goalie though.

I can imagine most loan signings will come later once more Premier League/Championship teams have finalised their plans for the season, maybe even once the season has started.

A signing at last - and it's a good'un... Marlon Pack on a two year deal. All we need now is four strikers, a couple of defenders and a keeper (at least).

Probably best not to say exactly what am thinking right now but yeah he’s a good fullback or wingback. Bit of a throwback type player. Not the greatest injury record though,
Can understand the meltdown, had he left for a big L1 club or Championship then could understand but a club that came up with us is a bit of a worry, that said I imagine our offer was reflective of his injury record and Rovers wasn’t.

Strange move but cant really chuck money to keep him when he’s missed huge swathes of the last 2 years.

Have to trust the process and we move on. Probably explains the Cass signing though!

Signed Marlon Pack after he left Cardiff. He's from Portsmouth and came through the youth ranks. Decent experience in midfield

Our second signing in 2 days, and a second before we've announced a head coach. Tom Bradbury signs from Halifax.

Sounds exactly what we need as we needed another FB.
Can he play left, right or both?
Do you think he will get a good reception from Vale when he returns?
Both our signings so far have injury issues, hope it doesnt bite us on the ass like last season.

There’s no two ways about it it’s a money move. Clearly they’ve offered him something we were just not willing to and to be fair DC and DF know his injury history. That is not a criticism of him either, especially at this level it’s a short career and you have to do right by your family.

Now the shock has gone good luck to him and Rovers apart from when we play them next season but hope we smash fuck out of them but that applies to everyone else too. Will certainly get a warm reception before and after the game from me anyway and I hope other Vale fans too.

Seems to be coming out we offered him a low wage deal (obviously because of injuries) so can’t blame him going.

It’s gutting he’s a fans favourite because he puts 100% in, smashes the tackles (red card on his first ever game!) etc but the fact is he has played 1/3 of the games in the last two years and we’ve talked about value for money. Knowing the injury history it’s not the end of the world and we did fine without him for much of last season but obviously when fit he is an outstanding wing back.

Il give him a decent reception, he was instrumental in the play offs and obviously we enjoyed him giving McKirdy and Boundry some stick after their slurs towards us after the semi win.

Those “ITK” suggest it was more about what we offered him.

I can see that or at the very least a lower basic and then with appearance incentives etc.

Wait and see on Mal now, he’s the one remaining.

Appearance based. Which is a way is understandable from our POV because we’ve had massive injuries the last two seasons and can’t afford to keep with that. Assume Procs has signed his based on the same principle.

Max Melbourne and Farrend Rawson have also signed for us alongside Donald Love. Not really impressed by them so far, feels abit 'meh' at the moment.

Rawson sounds like he was really inconsistent in League 2 let alone League 1. What's Melbourne like Lincoln fans? He sounds like the best of the 3.

Rawson was good for us, was a popular character. In terms of his strengths he’s very tall and has a massive head which is a good start for a CB, strong in the air. Not the quickest but for us was always pretty decent at one on one defending although he did take some risks in terms of man handling opponents in the penalty area.

If you want a decent basic physical defender type he’ll do a job for you, just don’t expect him to be a playmaker or make too many runs forward.

Will was great for us and you won't find a harder working player at the club or in the community.

He has a great long throw and never shirks a tackle, he can also hit some amazing 40 metre passes from one side of the pitch to the other.
Looks like you have got a narrow pitch there Bri.

Michael Ihiewke and Michael Smith both set to join from Rotherham

Both have been brilliant servants for us and been involved in 3 promotions.
Always seems sad to say goodbye but it's probably a good thing for both players and probably even us really.

As well as getting us promoted they also failed to keep us up on the previous 2 attempts.
It may be that we need a change just as much as they do.

Icky is 30 in November and Smith 31 in October so they have chosen to look after their families with a last decent contract, plus a big pay rise and who can blame them for that.

We apparently were prepared to break our pay structure to keep Smith but rumours of Wednesday offering him up to 15 grand a week has rightly blown us out of the water.
We shouldn't pay that, it would only upset the rest of the squad and he really is not worth that kind of money, he isn't worth the £8-9000 we are supposed to have offered but as I say good luck to him.

Icky was going to Derby until the ownership deal collapsed so he was gone anyway.
He has been decent for us most of the time but he certainly won't be as difficult to replace as Smith.

No doubt they will both be more than happy to miss Warney's pre-season running up mountains in Croatia and definitely won't have to work as hard playing in a Darren Moore team, at their ages that will be good for them also.

Neither gets injured much so they'll both be available regularly, obviously expect the odd suspension as with most players.
I look forward to watching their progress.

Will tends to collect the ball on the edge of the penalty box when an opposition move has broken down and send passes out to the wings.
Our pitch is 66m wide so maybe I'm doing him a dis-service, it might be 45m passes lol.

Delighted to see Fleetwood have signed Callum Morton on a 3 yr deal. He did really well for us last season in just a few months at the club. I think if we can bring in a good centre half that will complete some excellent business for the club
