Is that like Liam Shaw?

And fuck him, horrible little c***
Yes, Liam Shaw - Liam Jones used to work with me, senior moment :err:
So you're not too keen , as in he hurt you when he left you or he's a shit footballer or he's a nasty individual?

He's certainly not little so maybe your other assessments aren't that accurate either.

So, apparently, we’re going to announce the signing of Jay Stansfield today. The deal was allegedly completed yesterday but the word is that our media team are putting together the announcement video/ interview to release news later. Plus our chairman tweeted some cryptic stuff earlier. Odd.

If he did sign, it’d be a big deal for us Exeter fans due to the fact he’s the son of our ex player who died 12 years ago aged 32. I just hope there isn’t too much pressure on him to perform. He’s definitely in the highly rated bracket and he started in the Prem for Fulham the other week.

He is a supposed Wednesday fan but shit on the club to go to Celtic and cost us money, hence my dislike for the lad.

He died aged 31 not 32.

Over the moon with the Stansfield signing. Highly emotive return after making his premiership debut recently. A massive story in Exeter and one that’s got the fan base starting to believe again after a slow window. 2 strikers, 2 midfielders and a goalkeeper (all of either proven quality or exceptional promise) sounds like a pretty successful window to me, bearing in mind our location and relative lack of cash. Very optimistic for the season now UTC

It’s amazing isn’t it. At 8pm on deadline day our fanbase were getting very frustrated and annoyed indeed. And within 24 hours we’ve added two forwards who offer something a little different and with Jay coming back it makes it all the more sweet.

The Blackman and Harper signings have been good pieces of business too. Time will tell but I hope we can hold our own now and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season.

Really hope Rakeem makes an impact for you. We had high hopes for him when he signed, in his 13 appearances he rarely fulfilled the potential we know he has. Door isn't closed for him with us, so would be great to see him perform well for you.

It is amazing, a real 24 hour turnaround, and aside from Dawson amazing we kept everybody else who contributed last season

It's been far too long for Cheltenham fans to have full opinion on him tbf. He looked lightweight and was on loan from Chelsea's academy at the time, so had clearly only played academy football beforehand. Technically good, but not a lot else.

If he's still the same, and I can't believe he would be after playing for a few more clubs since, then he's heading down into non-league, stopping at Walsall along the way.

We’ve signed free agent Sean O’Brien after a successful trial. 20 year old AM/S previously at Millwall.

That’s 15 signings this summer.

Seems to be the approach of all teams called Forest this summer…

Tbf 14 left, so we had to bring in quite a few. On top of that we have a lot of injuries.

9 of our signings are 21 and under and only 3 of the other 6 have any real league 1 experience, so we haven’t exactly thrown loads of money around. I suppose the aim is that some of these lads turn out to be league 1 standard. 3 or 4 of our loan signings are at least looking promising.

We have signed Sam Winnall.
Know nothing about him. Perhaps Oxford fans can enlighten me.
The fact he had no club speaks volumes - no one wants him.

Very slow which is a major problem but reasonable in the air and still technically decent. If you put balls in like this he may have some joy (1m 48s):

I hope you have good medical facilities though as he will likely need them. He was rightly released by us as sadly injuries have done for him.

Perhaps we are relying on a long throw from the touchline straight on his head. In true Dino fashion.

I am staggered he's managed to find a new club to be honest. Sam Winnall used to be a very, very good striker. Injuries I gather have ravaged him and he subsequently hasn't been at the level required for some years now.

I would be very concerned as a Burton supporter (if you weren't already). We signed him on reputation alone and boy, what a mistake that was. I gather you have done the same. He offers nothing whatsoever at League One level in 2022. He was so far off the standard with us over the duration of his contract we as supporters would all just sort of shrug our shoulders in unison in the knowledge the goals would dry up whenever he played. It wasn't exactly difficult to score for OUFC either (given we were one of the top scoring sides in the country behind Man City) and the fact that he still couldn't score tells you everything.

I said during the JPT final some years ago when we faced Barnsley 'I wish we had Sam Winnall'. Sadly, I eventually got my wish.

He's a lovely bloke if that counts for anything? I genuinely wish him well, however I just cannot see him contributing.

A little late to this but our Chairman did an interview last week and part of it touched on the transfer window and he basically said that not only can't we compete financially in L1 (never will be able to anyway) but the bigger Clubs have skewed wages to such a point that even your no-frills L1 players are becoming, or have become, unattainable for many, hence the difficulty some Clubs have. He said the wage demands are absolutely mind-boggling and beyond comprehension.

Also made a point in saying that during Covid, the PL had their TV money still, L1 and L2 got a bailout but the Championship couldn't agree on anything, got little (no?) help, and as a result, the arse has fallen out of transfer fees that they're willing to pay for L1/L2 players.

We've signed midfielder Jacob Davenport on a deal until January, which gives us another needed body in central midfield. Released by Blackburn in the summer.

Kennedy appears to have coached him when they were both at Man City's academy.

Our Director of Football, Richard Hughes, has upped sticks to Pompey (having rejected a previous offer from them in the summer)
