We’ve just sent two of our best young players Tommy McDermott and James Plant on loan to Salisbury. Guess the link would be DC started his managerial career there so doing them a big favour but if we are not bringing anyone in would like to see us start bringing them into our first team setup.
Can they play for us again this season now?

Incoming at 7. Looks like it’s forward James Scott from Hull.

Apparently we’ve turned down bids for Key, Nombe and Brown.

The latest I’ve seen re Jevani Brown is that a cash plus player swap for Hackett Fairchild is a potential deal. Doubt he’ll go unless we get a replacement

Not sure what the rules are on it to be honest. I know you could do it in the Pizza Trophy but we are done with that now. Hope it goes well for them. Feels like this group coming through the academy are the best talents we’ve had in a long time, fingers crossed we can develop them the right way for a change. Would expect we’d be bringing someone in now before the deadline.

Rumours that we're offering £400k plus Michael Jacobs. Top player if you can get him fit.... which is a big "if".

Where does Jacobs play? We’ve just signed a midfielder so not sure we need him if he’s a central player

James Scott confirmed on a free transfer from Hull. Potentially a decent signing if he lives up to his potential.

Jacobs is primarily a winger. Great player if he stays fit but that's been the issue with him since day one.

Weird one, he was on about using them so either the injury situation is far better this week than last (or we can’t even name a full bench Saturday) or we have someone coming in surely?

Jevani deleting the tweet has sent our fans into meltdown!!!

Not sure need a winger, particularly an injury prone one. Maybe something will happen late on. Not used to this kind of deadline day.

...and signed Kevin Mcdonald. No spring chicken!
He was on trial with us in the summer, I totally forgot about him. No idea what he's been doing for the last few months, but interested to see how he gets on.

It looks like we're signing Spurs' youngster Harvey White, who had a spell at Portsmouth about 2 years ago. He's been in and around the Spurs first team this season, albeit only the one appearance. As he's a centre midfielder, it's a bit of a surprise but as Max Bird went down with an injury last night then I suppose we moved quick.

Korey Smith is looking settled at right back now so we've decided to bring in another CM rather than RB.

No idea if he's any good, but only time will tell. I believe he was underwhelming when he joined Portsmouth a couple of years ago - another couple of years of development, who knows. Fingers crossed he can come in and make an impact. I don't buy that there was a string of Championship clubs vying for him (West Brom, Luton and a couple others mentioned) otherwise doubt he would've joined us.

Yeah White was underwhelming for us but part of that was because Kenny Jackett had no idea where to play him and he was in and out of the team.

As for Jevani Brown, our local news are reporting that Exeter aren't expecting any ins or outs now so that would suggest our bids have been rebuffed. That's fine from our POV if it means we then go and sign him on a free in the summer.

In other news, we'll be announcing Paddy Lane's arrival from Fleetwood before the day is over.

If he had talent then hopefully we will see some of it - it's just been announced.

If he can still run, Kevin McDonald could be a really shrewd signing for us.

Caldwell has said he still wants one more, which is likely the be a ‘keeper and heard we may announce it tomorrow. Probably Jokull Andresson.

If we don’t lose anyone now, it’s been a superb window for us.

Signed Paddy Lane. On the face of it a cracking signing. Linked with prem clubs last season. Efl young player of the year. Not sure what happened this season at Fleetwood

We’ve signed 19 year old striker Jahmari Clarke on loan from Reading. Means we’re back up to 6 loans, I take it the 5 loans in a match day squad is still a thing? Might be a problem as I can’t see which we’d leave out to make way for this lad.

We’ve signed George Thomas until the end of the season following his release from QPR earlier today.

Anyone?

Signed Kirk from Charlton. Any good?
Also adhame back from Ipswich on loan.
Still trying to get more in.

Strangely enough, the only game where he’s actually been quite useful was against Burton earlier in the season.

He came with a lot of promise but the reality is unless you enjoy watching someone receive the ball, stop and just pass it to the full back, he offers very little.

Us signing Clarke has seemingly opened the door for Stevens to seal a last minute move away.

Not sure if this is actually the case but it feels like FGR have had a massive turnover of players in this window. Not saying it’s right or wrong but will take good management to get them gel together.

Vale meanwhile I’m pretty certain nothing is happening now. So that’s 5 out (2 being youth lads) and one in on loan. No real issue with it though won’t stop some of our fans whinging about it but being relatively comfortable in mid table means we can afford not to gamble and then evaluate things in the summer. Frankly there’s just no value in an over-inflated market in January. One of the reasons if I had my way I’d go back to the old transfer window of keeping it open until March.

Im worried with the injuries that we’ve lost depth and not got anyone in, even as cover. Seems odd to say we will play the academy players then send them on loan!

It’s been a big turnover, we’ve now brought in 11 and 9 have gone out, 10 if Stevens goes. Trying to get the team to gel quickly with so many changes and a new management team as well is going to be difficult I reckon. Although we did play alright at Shrewsbury with 6 of our January signings in the xi. Suppose we couldn’t get much worse, think we’ve lost 7 and drawn 1 of our last 8.

Can only guess that the injured players are pretty much back fit. I’m not going to lose much sleep on it. Problem is I think we’ve maximised the loans so it’s a waste of a squad space.

That said the club sent out a timed tweet not long ago advertising the end of the January sales at the club shop. I’ve not seen so many Vale fans tweet back telling them to fuck off. World class trolling even if unintentional
