Most random rumour - a striker from the ozzie A league. Brother is/was at ipswich

League One side Portsmouth are one of four clubs to have tables concrete offers for striker Kusini Yengi [@FTBLcoma] It’s understood the 24-year-old has played his final game for the Wanderers, as a deal looks to be signed later this week.

Looks like Oxford must have thrown some serious cash at that one, particularly with who they were potentially competing against. Seems like they're going to throw a load of money at it in order to avoid the car crash of last season.
No doubt others would have been interested but I bet a lot of it will be the agent using bigger clubs names to get him the best deal.
Not proven in the league but clearly too good for the conference. I cant say he impressed in the play offs but ill be honest thats the only non league footy ive seen.

No idea what so ever what he is like. But we had his brother on loan the second half of last season from Ipswich and he was absolutely dreadful.

The guy who does the sport for the Derbyshire Telegraph said that we were aware of him, but didn't pursue any deal and indicated that our name was banded around.

Warne went to the play-off final, so he was looking at someone that game. I find it hard not to believe it wasn't Rodrigues, but who knows.

Langstaff possibly? Dobra at Chesterfield maybe as well, not sure there’s anyone else it could be and not sure if you’re paying the kind of fees it’d take to sign Langstaff.

Yes apparently so, won't believe it till I see it though.

Smyth is a match-winner, but the big news would be Dan Happe staying. He was utterly outstanding before his injury last year; far and away our best player. Fingers crossed because I don’t think we could adequately replace either of them.

We are apparently competing with Barnsley and Huddersfield for Halifax defender Jesse Deborah.

Anyone know if he's any good? Wrexham? Notts fans out there?

You guys know a lot about Non league football.

Half the planet is apparently in for Brentford striker Aaron Pressley, including us, Barnsley, Cambridge and Chelts.

Can’t say I was particularly aware of his loan spell at Accy, but he seemingly got a decent return in a struggling team which I guess has to be good.

Realistically Barnsley probably offer the best opportunity in terms of progression and £££, you’d have to say, but still. Definitely not holding my breath on this one.

Archie Collins and Josh Key are both 99% certain to leave this summer according to Caldwell. No surprises at all and they’ve earned the right to move on.

Can see Collins moving to another L1 club with a bigger budget, or potentially he’ll link up with Matt Taylor at Rotherham.

Key will get a Championship move - Swansea mentioned which would be a good club for him.

We’ll get compo for both but that will take weeks…

Looks like we are about to sign CB James Wilson who has turned down a new Plymouth deal

Decent player. I think we may have offered him reduced terms or a year when he wanted longer.

Old school defender. Personally I always felt he was a bit limited to play the way we want to but he’s steady and will always put in a good shift. Didn’t fancy him up against Championship strikers but he’s good a pick up for Rovers at L1 level.

Langstaff is likely to be £2m, I’d assume, we aren’t going to be spending anything like that - especially not on any one player. It won’t be Dobra as we’ve gone away from wingers. It seemed like Rodrigues was the obvious one, maybe he was and we’re saving a bit of face by saying we weren’t interested.

Oxford believe he’s turned down Barnsley and Cardiff, as well as us to join them. It just doesn’t make sense to me, but perhaps I’m missing something.

It’s only a problem if Rodrigues actually does well, if he doesn’t, then it will be forgotten about - like Kyle Joseph last season. Definitely can see this being a bit of a shitty stick to batter Warne with this season if this don’t go well.

Son of Steven Pressley.
Connections with Carlisle.
He seemed to do well last season at Accy.

I mean, it was the biggest budget in the clubs history last season. It’s hardly a ‘new’ thing that we are throwing money around.

Our reputation under Karl Robinson was atrocious. We got knocked back by just about every target last summer because of the manager. We spent the budget horrendously and didn’t even manage to fill our squad quota so signings are expected.

Be huge that for Orient if you’ve got Smyth to stay. A hell of a good player.

I do wonder if the next week we might start to see things moving with new signings as it’s been pretty slow going so far all round or at least comparatively to the big spenders in L2.
Who are these big spenders in L2 who have been making loads of signings?

No signings yet at Stockport, Salford or Wrexham. Only one each for Gillingham and Bradford. That’s probably your top 5 budgets.

He's crap. Seem him play multiple times, league 2 standard at best.

Signed GK Will Norris on a 3 year deal after being released by Burnley.
one of the worst keepers I've seen at Ipswich, although that was a few years ago so may have improved a lot!

2 million for a player who has only scored in the conference, that seems a bit steep. That would make Aaron Collins worth about 4 mill

Aye we’d sell for seven figures full stop I think.

I thought the talk was £4m for Aaron Collins - at least that was the company line from Joey Barton? There just aren't many teams buying players for those figures at the moment so makes it more difficult - if you don't want to sell (like in both of your cases) slap a price on it and stick with it. I doubt either of them move, personally, not unless another team has a big sale to a Premier League or parachute payment club.

I expect we will accept less for Collins if a bid came in, we always seem to give our players away cheaply (eg JCH and Lambert)
At least Collins has another 2 years on his contract, so if he did go it may be our record sell which is currently 2.6M for Barry Hayles.
Crazy money for lower league players but football is all crazy money these days

Blackpool losing their best defender to Oxford

Supposedly they were interested in that Rodrigues too.

Still makes me laugh that Cameron Brannagan ran back down south for a better deal after seeing their training ground last year.

I would've hoped we were in for Thorniley - a player I liked personally. We need three centre backs too.

Shame. Good signing for Oxford.

Was never going to stay after the fucking about he has had, and he enjoyed his time at Oxford previously.
