Bristol rovers fans, what is Josh Coburn like?

We are interested in him I hear.
Started off like a house on fire and formed a great partnership with Collins but became pretty anonymous for the last few months of the season where tbf we werent playing well at all.
Big and strong and spends most games getting manhandled by the opposition and getting nothing from the refs.
Scored our goal of the season v Sheff Weds but I wasnt arsed if we got him for next season. You are more local and he could probably do with another year in L1

Second man in - Confirmed signing of Conor Shaughnessy lately of Burton. 2 year deal. Right-sided central defender who can also play in midfield.

2nd in for us too. Reeco Hackett-Fairchild. Signed from Pompey for an undisclosed fee.

Looks like we've now started announcing contract lengths again. Signed on a 3 year deal.

Undisclosed fee, but I doubt it's very big. Could be a good'un if you can work out how to play him. Not the best positionally but very skillful with his one foot and has a shot on him.

That’s both new signings that add a lot more height and physicality to a squad that definitely needed help in that area IMO

Sounds like we have also been linked with Denver Hume Pompey fans, didn’t you guys pay 200k for him?

Yup and to be honest he hasn't been a success. Constantly injured and when he has played, he has been a liability defensively. He does have a decent left foot on him, though.

Yes, unfortunately we bought him to play LWB and then Cowley decided to go 4 at the back. He then slipped a disc in his back and never really got back playing.

Not signed any new players yet, but Max Dyche has took up an offer for a new contract. Going to be a fringe player at most, might even get loaned out depending on whether we bring in anyone to cover Maglorie's injury until 2024 or use him for the job.

Apparently we'd get compensation for Koiki of he went (assuming it's not Scotland), so still don't know where he's going, just not expected to be with us.

Where's that come from? Makes sense because we'll need wing-backs but would be weird for Pompey to sell a £200k signing so quickly!

Doubt we'll go in for Shodipo now? Probably paves the way for Vernam to leave, with Adelakun not far behind I suspect if we get another body in, in wide areas.

Never quite know what you're going to get from L1 wingers and he doesn't sound any different, so we'll see. Brings some L1 experience and height at the very least.

Apparently we were in for both Smith and Will Randall from Sutton, but lost out to Lincoln and Notts County respectively.

We've completed the permanent signing of Taye Ashby-Hammond from Fulham. We had him on loan last season and he was fantastic until his season-ending injury.

We were noticeably worse for his absence, it took us a while to settle back down, before his injury we'd used two keepers, him and his back up in the cup, within 6 weeks we were on to our 7th keeper. I guess the number of changes in goal created the uncertainty that led to our mid-season drop in form but he was definitely our best keeper last season and massively contributed to our promotion.

Excellent piece of business, not only to get him back but permanently too. As good a signing as we could hope to make really. Delighted with that.

3 signings in a day! Makes a change from last two summers when we had a slow trickle of signings followed by a mad, desperate late rush.

We're seeing the impact of having a sporting director with a strong say on signings. There seems to be a clear push to get a squad together early for Mousinho to work on in training.

Only 7 teams have made any signings in League 1 - early days yet.
Yep, a few of our fans are getting twitchy but we often wait till early July to kick off our business. I expect we have some deals agreed but holding off announcing until the beginning of the month.

Why would any team hold off making announcement if it’s done? Makes no sense.

Sometimes for media reasons, photos, interviews or selling club wanting to sort out an incoming transfer to announce etc..

It finally looks like there are a few teams coming in for Knight but nothing substantiated. Bristol City with a £2m bid but others also looking to place offers. I think it's inevitable something happens with him, and Bielik, which should give us some funds for our ever-increasing rebuild.

Best for all parties when it comes to Knight - wish him all the best wherever he decides to go.

I believe our players are in next Friday for weighing and all that preseason stuff. For the size of squad that we are aiming for, we probably need 12 new players. We've signed 1. You'd think the manager would want the majority of his squad reporting in next Friday, so it could be a busy few days!

You're in a similar boat to us then. It's going to be an interesting few weeks, it sounds like we made a last ditch effort to bring Haydon Roberts in and he still went to Bristol. Doesn't fill me with a ton of confidence that things are quite going to plan behind the scenes.

We're confirmed to be 10 players down on last season, 11 if Knight goes and that was the smallest squad in the football league.

Guess we'll just have to see how it plays out, we have some semblance of starting XI even if we have no depth behind it and I mean no depth at all. Wildsmith; Forsyth, Cashin, Rooney; Sibley, Bird, Hourihane, Smith; NML, Barkhuizen; Collins - assuming Knight and Bielik are off and we don't bring anyone in. We'll have to raffle off places on the bench for fans, but would be interesting to see how some overweight forty-something would manage in this division.
