For what it's worth I'm pleased with our business so far. Does it make us promotion favourites? Absolutely not. We've added some good squad players but no more than that.

What's more encouraging is the speed at which we've worked. It smacks of having a coherent plan and sporting director and coach being on the same page. This is new territory for us. I get the feeling that we're looking for flexibility in the squad with one eye on potential resale value of our acquisitions.

I'm not getting carried away about promotion as there are clubs in this division with bigger budgets and good quality squads but I do think we're heading in the right direction.

Budget doesn’t really matter in this league as long as its semi-competitive. Have a good tactical manager and a squad all pulling in the same direction, with a supportive fan base and there’s no reason why you can’t be right up there.

For what’s it worth though, I do think teams who sign a number of players early in the window get caught in the hype of thinking they’ve done great business, because there isn’t really any other teams to compare themselves to.

I do think you’ll be in the play offs though, as an early prediction.

I disagree. Budget matters a lot in this league but it's not the be all and end all as Argyle proved last season.

New signing for us around lunch time I'm guessing, our local media usually get embargoed news 30 minutes before announcements if years gone by are anything to go by.

Someone on Exeweb is saying Jack Sparkes is coming to you…If so, he’d be a squad player at L1 level really. He’s technically very good and has a lovely left foot but was caught out a few times last season, plus he’s not the quickest either.

Lucas Jenson, 6'6" GK released from Burnley. Spent last season on loan at Accrington who had a defence like a sieve, albeit the defenders seemed to go AWOL a fair amount of times.

A surprising move away from our successful loan signings.

Definitely an area we'll be looking for a signing or two in so makes sense in that respect.

Barnsley now look like they’re losing manager Duff and captain Anderson in the same week. Off to Luton apparently. All of a sudden they look a completely different proposition next season.

Looks like we are signing Nathan Baxter and Joel Coleman to compete for gk position. Baxter was highly rated a few years ago but haven’t seen him much. They’ve got big gloves to fill to replace Trafford… looks like Baxter turned down champs league football and a bigger contract with Maccabi Haifa too to sign for us as he wants to work his way back up the pyramid in England. Good attitude at least.

Cole Stockton to Burton. Decent from them if he shows the form he’s capable of.

or if he spits his dummy out like he did for most of the damn season we'll be capable he also struggles when there's alot of pressure and expectation on him, He hit it off due to him being able to thrive in our enviroment, Didnt work at Tranmere, Hearts in Scotland and Carlisle alas Burton is a similar club to us

Happy with that....Read that he had the best stoppage percentage in his first spell in the Championship
We are never going to get one as good as Trafford and this new lad needs to be given time

Two signings in a day.
Josh Gordon ( 15 goals last season - no idea if he is any good )
And Cole Stockton ( mr in and out )
Lots of potential with Stockton, comes with baggage but overall I’m happy.

We are close to completing a loan deal for GK James Beadle from Brighton. We are also looking at either a loan or perm deal for midfielder Tim Akinola from Arsenal and have had an offer accepted for forward Tyler Burey at Millwall.

Burey is meant to be very highly rated isn’t he? Could be a great signing.

We've signed Harry Anderson following his release by Bristol Rovers. Seem to recall him being half decent for Lincoln and he scored for Bristol Rovers in our last meeting (not that difficult given our performances around that time

I thought a Stockport, Wrexham or maybe even a Gillingham would go in for him but the fact he's ended up at Burton would probably suggest no-one really fancied him (no offence to Burton)? Probably wary of his downing tools at Morecambe and that being the only place where he's had a good goalscoring record.

That said, I can imagine he'll fit in quite well with how Burton play.

I think we're both in the same boat with regards to replacement GK's this season i.e. neither likely to get one as good as last seasons loanees.

We signed Akinola for our youth team from down in London, Cowley then took him to Huddersfield and then bizarrely signed for Arsenal who blatantly admitted they'd only signed him, and a raft of others, to beef their U18/U21 sides up.

We had Lucas Jenson on loan the season before last i cannot tell you anything about him for some reason he never played a first team game

Beadle was excellent for us. I still can't believe the management decided to bench him for his first 6 games with us. Really made that position his own and I would've loved him back but I had a feeling Brighton would want to loan him somewhere in League One for 23-24.

We've just announced the signing of Louis Thompson, formerly of Portsmouth, joining his brother at the club. Seems to have made plenty of appearances at League One level, will hopefully prove to be a decent addition.

Was just going to comment to say he looked very good for you when we played you at our place last season. Made two or three decent saves, including an unbelievable point blank save to deny Bostwick. If he performs like that every week, should be a great signing.

You and Portsmouth seem to have done the best business thus far
