We’d be looking for over £1M plus add ons for Nombe.
We should be all over that, but won't be.

You should knock £500k off after us giving you £750k for Stockley.

We were apparently in for Agyei as well.

We don’t have much pulling power sadly, which makes it difficult to sign players at this stage of the season.

I think we’re doing the right being patient and not just panic signing any old shit. The closer we get to September the more desperate players become meaning more quality will be available to us.

I’m not worried at all yet.

I was speaking more in general.

We are a last resort for most players mainly due to our poor finances. It happens every season, we miss out on most of our targets and go into preseason with a weak squad and people unnecessarily panic. But we’ll be fine by the end of the window as more players will consider us the later it gets.

Don't think it has been mentioned (could be wrong) but last week we signed 18yo keeper James Beadle on a season loan from Brighton. Played on loan at Crewe last season and recently made his England u20 debut.

Today we signed 20yo right back Fin Stevens on a season loan from Brentford. Was on loan at Swansea last season but didn't play a lot and got recalled by Brentford in January.

Seen a few of our ex players have been signed by L1 clubs in the last few days.

Conor Grant - Signed for Vale. Anonymous on loan for us years ago. Must've been a good player for Plymouth to have kept him all those years mind. Dan Barlaser and Harry Wilson were anonymous on loan for us and went on to have good careers too.

James Beadle - Excellent keeper who was outstanding for us second half of last season. I'm still annoyed Bell gave Richards 6 games (where he had horror shows in pretty much all of them) over starting a proper keeper in Beadle. The boy will go far and I wish him all the best at Oxford.

Dan Agyei - What a player. Delighted he got a move to League One as I didn't want him lining up against us in League Two next season. I consider him a better centre-forward than a winger but he does possess pace and gets himself into good positions. Excellent penalty taker too. I wish him all the best at Orient and I do believe Northampton missed out on him too. Carlisle would never have been in with a chance given he turned down Bradford very quickly due to location. Dan was either going to stay in Nantwich and play locally or he was going to move back home to London and sign for a club down that way which he has done. Treat him well, the lad was a credit to us during a pretty poor time for our club.

Rekeem Harper - Utterly dreadful but he did come into a team that was pisspoor all season. Was slow, looked unfit and never looked like influencing any game at L1 level. I'm very surprised he hasn't dropped down to League Two. His attitude wasn't exactly poor but he just didn't seem to offer us anything. I'm not even sure what type of midfielder he actually is. And I watched him a fair bit for us! I can't see him lasting long at Burton I'm afraid!

We've also signed Ethan Galbraith on a 2 year contract, was on loan at Salford last season from Man Utd.

Good signing on paper for us, think this signing also means we won't be getting Idris El-Mizouni back.

Two smashing signings today. Wasn’t fussed about the lad from Lincoln, but Galbraith was very decent for ManUre Tribute Act last season. Expecting him to have a big influence on the side. But Ayegi is the one that’s got me excited. Thought he was the best opposition player I saw at BR last season. Fantastic pace.

El-Mizouni has loan interest from Derby and Wycombe.

Also is attracting premier league interest on the basis of a buy to loan straight out deal.

Will be interesting to see where he ends up. I expect him to go for around 500k.

Do you guys not have any interest in keeping him?

He really was class all season for us, clearly way too good for League 2 level and I really can see him being a good Championship player in the near future.

A season long loan back to us to nurture/develop him again at a higher level before he plays championship next season sounds like the best deal ;)

Not really, as our owners are super ambitious so their only real aim is trying to get us to the Prem as fast as possible, and we need to cash in on players when we can to comply with FFP.

We're also very much stacked in central midfield so I'd be very surprised if he's still here at the end of the window.

Haha, I'm glad he done so well with you guys last season. You're the team I'm going to keep an eye on this season in league one.

Good business by Orient. Would have been delighted with Galbraith or Agyei. Both were excellent in L2 last season.

Agyei didnt blow anyone away for Oxford when last here though. We found that out last season players who looked really good in L2 struggled in L1

I also heard Charlton were in for him - so basically we've got no chance, both clubs that have more £££ than us.

Tom King is expect to reject our contract to join for Wolves. From a second choice keeper in League One to 3rd choice in a Premiership ... seems a pretty obvious one, might as well be very well paid if you're not going to get much game time.

We’ve confirmed the signing of Ben Barclay from Stockport. He was excellent for us towards the end of last season after an indifferent start. He’s one I wanted to get back so happy with that.

But still no ‘new signings’. The 3 we’ve made so far we had on loan last season. We need to strengthen from last season, but still plenty of time to do so.

Maybe not.
Although we finished in the autos in L2 (just..) rather than the play offs, many would say we had a better team at the end of the L2 season than the one we had in L1, and we did ok.

Similar here, we re-loaned Dennis Politic and signed Cass on a permanent but on the flip side after Xmas we both fell off like a stone (as did Exeter largely), luckily we all had very good first half of the season to keep us with enough credit to survive relatively comfortably in the end.

Politic was superb in the main in League Two but didn't step up that well for us in League One... although both times never featured much from the start.

Key thing is riding the wave of euphoria after promotion and getting a good start or you can end up like FGR I guess.

I think if you have a decent defence or attack you 'should' be ok in L1. FGR didnt have either and that was the end result
