It seems like we could have a couple leave this window - Joe Ward being one. He looked decent during preseason, got injured and never got himself back into the team. I think a change of system has left him out in the cold.

We're after a striker and midfielder, but with how fucking useless our recruiting staff have shown to be then I won't hold my breath that they'll be any with quality coming through the door.

Does seem a strange one - he can't get into the FGR team, has scored twice in 17 appearances. Only 4 in 14 for Vale in the second half of last season.

However, DC seems to like him, and so far it's been very much in DC we trust, so I'll back anyone he brings in to help keep us up

Was miles off L1 level for us last season, 2 of the 4 goals were penalties and he seemed to miss so many good chances considering his reputation.

Think Matty Taylor is worth a punt as long as he's not the only forward we sign. Aaron Pressley has been rumoured but no other real hints as to who we're after.

We are apparently after Matty Taylor from FGR - seems there's some haggling over the fee.
Eurgh no. Whatever ability he may have once had has long since departed. As long as he's backup then fair enough but I'm amazed that he did well at Oxford..looked to have zero redeeming features. Surprised if Darrell is in for him again as he was one of the mitigating factors in Clarke getting tinned from us.

He looks a L2 player tbh, several managers here all not rated him enough to start regularly
I have to agree with you I'm afraid. I thought it was a bit of a strange signing at the time. He was decent for us in league 2 (when fit) and our fans loved him because he's a run through brick walls type of player. In terms of ability with the ball, I never thought he was that great. A bit of a head down and run sort.

Agree he looked well past his best, oddly the best game he had in a Vale match was against us!

Harsh on Gibbo I would say, was a good servant and pushing him into the right centre half position against Swindon was a crucial move to get us promoted as that turned the tie in the second leg.

He wanted to stay with us that is widely reported but we were not prepared to offer the money due to his injury problems that Rovers were and that turned out right... not that we have improved our injury records either mind! Possibly is more a L2 player though and bar last season at Vale Park where he didn't play great I haven't seen him really at this level to judge so will have to go with the Rovers fans views on that one I guess!

Mo Eisa confirmed on loan, though he leaves MK at the end of the season anyway

We’ve also signed Halifax forward Millenic Alli for an undisclosed fee on a 2.5 year deal. Looks quick and direct.

A good day of business and hopefully we can get a big oaf of a striker to sign too and we’ll be set.

Meanwhile at Vale.....nothing.

If we're going to go with the same thoughts of two young loanees as was muted at the fans forum last week, our 9/1 odds to go down look well worth a dabble.

Without 3 or 4 best players we look a very poor outfit and everyone around is willing to spend to avoid the drop.

signed a striker - leko from mk dons which came out of nowhere. Apparently has talent but a bad attitude. I’m thinking Nile ranger here.
Seems to me we should have stuck with lubala.

O’Rourke now saying we’ve had a bid of £200k plus add ons rejected by Stevenage for Aaron Presley. That’s mental money by our standards.

Shows we’re in the market for more players, but doesn’t sound like fat boy Evans wants to sell.

Blackpool winger Owen Dale was sat with our head of recruitment tonight and looks to be joining us.

We had him on loan all last season. Talented dribbler and works his socks off but very frustrating with his end product. Decision-making is poor, crossing is very average and he's nervous in front of goal. (If you get the version we had)

We've signed CB Tom McIntyre from Reading. Last night showed that we need strengthening at the back.

It's odd as they have five strikers. Mind you I think he is the youngest so probably most valuable. As good as Jamie Reid has been this season, I wouldn’t want him back.

Youngest but no where near worth £200k. That bid stinks of a desperate club looking for a striker so maybe they think you’ll be back with another bid.

Strange player. Had a good season at this level for us 3 years ago and it went to his head. Threw his toys out the pram to force a move a year too early and cost the club a minimum of £750K because of his deplorable actions. Seems it's not worked out for him at Blackpool at all and even his former coach at the Academy here, Neil Critchley, cant get a tune out of him too.

I have a feeling he's a League Two player who had a 3-4 month purple patch with us in League One.

I hope we don’t go much higher.

Thing is, he could end up being a great investment. We’ve seen it time and time again where players suddenly click somewhere. Paul Mullin being a great example as he didn’t score many prior to joining Cambridge.

Stockley is another one - suddenly found his feet and scored a shed load for us.

It’s clear we’re still after a big striker, so hopefully we can get a deal done before tomorrow.

As we now play 4-3-3 instead of a 5-3-2, we desperately need a couple of wingers, a RB and a CM. Unfortunately Hursty has said that it’s unlikely anybody will be joining. Think if the PE teacher that is Taylor was still here, we probably would have had two or three new players by now but Hurst has rejected them coming as he didn’t want them.

We were watching Paul Blackett of South Shields last night. Not heard of him so went on Twitter to see he scored in a 3-0 win at Edgar Street last night and the South Shield fans seem to worship the ground that he walks upon. Big jump from Conference North to League One though. Don’t need him anyway as we have five strikers already. Have seen a rumour about Leyton Orient wanting Aiden O’Brien though (hopefully true as he’s a complete waste of space).

Think we’ll sign Jack Price once he’s fit and that’ll be that. The Paul Hurst appointment should have happened weeks ago but we should easily stay up with what we have tbf.

I would have thought you'd have got Ryan Woods in. Looked very decent in his first couple of games for us but then performances declined rapidly

We have enquired about 2-3 Championship strikers but are waiting on the clubs to make their signings before they can be released. Hopefully thats an experienced striker rather than a kid on loan as we can't afford not to make a move now.
