First departure is a member of staff rather than player - Assistant Head Coach Chris Cohen has moved to Stoke. That'll be a blow because in his 5 months here he seemed to be a very good coach with plenty of higher league experience both playing and coaching.

We seem to do fairly well out of compensation for staff members moving up the leagues!

Jordan Wright has gone to Grimsby for an undisclosed fee. Served us well as a number two but probably not good enough as a number one at L1 level and hasn't been at the level of the GK's we've had here in the last four years or so. Understandably wants to play games, which is fair enough.

Just been announced on our site. I guess Charlton won’t be too bothered but he has shown his quality numerous times for us which helped our run towards the end of the season. In fact when he got injured, it showed just how quickly and how much we were missing him. Fits straight into our squad nicely so IMO it’s a good signing for us.

Just never clicked for him here but rarely had a chance as had various injuries and when he wasn't injured he was out on loan. Will be remembered for his last min equaliser at Fratton Park but all in all a move that is best for both parties, I'm sure he will do well at Lincoln again next season.

Yeah pleased with McGrandles, adds energy and experience in the middle of the park and is a solid signing. Seems like the best football of his career has generally been with us.

Probably a slight question mark over his injury record recently but we'll see how well covered we are in CM at the end of August.

Surprised he got a L1 gig, started off pretty well with us - quick and direct but faded which is understandable with the court case hanging over him. Despite the court case, I'd still have reservations that he's L1 quality but he's got another chance at it.

We've let a few of the more senior players go and the club have stated that County are going for a more youthful side to build up over the next few seasons. The other two signings are 21 and 23.

My concern for Diamond is bar his Sunderland appearences his loans seem to be at quite small clubs? Harrogate, Lincoln and a rooted to the bottom Carlisle?

He'll have to raise his game here. Not convinced he'll be first choice, heard we still want Barry.

This is what I said when Carlisle signed for him:

Is he not out of contract in the summer?

He started off well here but his form nose-dived very quickly, presumably off the back of court case hanging over him although no-one knew about that at the time. If the first month or two we saw of Diamond is a yardstick it's a fairly solid signing but not necessarily an outstanding out.

We probably see enough of Diamond in a good headspace to truly know whether he'd make the step up from L2 where he performed well for Harrogate.

I don't think he did anything of any note at Carlisle either, which admittedly wasn't a great move in terms of where they were in the table so a difficult one but even so, I'm surprised he's found a L1 side and especially one offering him a three year deal.

Gut feeling is that he'll settle as a winger who will be good in L2 but not quite good enough for L1 overall - similar to Charles Vernam (Diamond showed more here than he did).

It was no way slagging Lincoln. Very well run club who know their way around League One. We could learn a lot from you and you'll have a much better squad than us.
