We would be very sad to see Mitchell rock up anywhere other than at Lincoln in League One. Became a fans favourite with his attitude and commitment, let alone his defensive performances for us. Not just down to him but a good reason we had one of the best defensive stats for goals conceded last season. IMO a top player.

Agreed, would be a shame not to see him stay but was fearful a bigger club with a bigger budget would come along. He's had four loans now so needs a bit of stability which goes our way.

Said we was after Some Defensive cover in todays local rag despite having 6 centre/halfs under contract
Unless we are moving one or two on. Mitchell fits every box barring him being a London lad

Any Burton fans about? What’s this Deji Oshilaja like? Centre back? We’ve signed one today and sounds like it could be him.

As others have said, a very good L1 defender. It'd be a bit unfair to label him as just a head it and kick it one, he's more than that, but he's not what you'd call a ball playing CB and you don't see many of them at this level anyway. Tall, strong as an Ox and a big, imposing unit so fits in with a Jones type side.

I was hoping we'd be able to buy him but, even taking the London location out of it, I'm not sure we'd have been able to pay the required fee to Millwall or match the sort of wages he'd have been on there (even as just a young, squad member of a Championship side).

Been one of our better loan signings we've had since we've been in L1. Not a Brennan Johnson, Morgan Rogers, Brooke Norton-Cuffey etc type level but certainly in that group behind.

I will be totally honest - he is a basket case. Liability at times. Has some skill but he loses his head every game and drops an almighty bollock.
But, perhaps he was poorly coached. You might get a tune out of him.

Mitchell sounds like a very good signing if we can get it over the line. Reported in the South London Press which is always spot on but reported that we are keen atm so still a lot to do

The article says “closing in on a permanent deal” but you’re right the headline just says keen. Hopefully closer then than initial headline suggests.

Are Wrexham really offering so much?
I have watched with interest three or four players turn Wrexham down already this summer.

Northampton should follow Lincoln/Oxford/Bolton blue print and keep improving year on year and if that means you miss out on players you help further their careers so be it.
We have had three players in the last two seasons who were stand out players in league one who we had no chance of retaining....That is just life down here

As a Wrexham fan I am interested to know who has turned us down too!

The general press have linked us to some players who might have been contenders but have signed elsewhere, but nothing concrete from local journalists who are more likely to know.

And Mullin is on 50k dont you know, so anything is possible

edit: just remembered our name was mentioned by a journo in the Hourihane transfer

Seems you are losing out to Rotherham on a number of deals and may do in marosi
Keeping with Rotherham you bid 300k for Lindsey in Jan. He is a free agent now and still not signed for you.
Hourihane chose Barnsley.........Kerr Wigan
Bale the 19th hole and Vardy well theres ambition and stupidity.

You will get some decent players in this summer, but like i said previously there are owners in this league with a lot more money than your owners

Stockport County.
Agents will be dropping Wrexham's name in left, right and centre, it's impossible to know who has rejected them and who hasn't.

a lot of leaps of logic there-as others have said we get mentioned with pretty much every player nowadays whether or not we were ever interested.

As for the people who have apparently turned us down- the speed players have signed up for Rotherham (rather than waiting to see what other clubs offer) suggests to me they are offering high wages as I'm sure they want to bounce straight back up to the championship so not leaving things up to chance.

No idea if we were ever in for Hoirihane. Kerr it sounds like we may have been but he chose to stay where he was - no shame there. Bale and Vardy is just paper talk/jokes- we are/were not seriously in for either.

As for Lindsay who says he's rejected us? he's not signed for anyone else yet. We are in a different place now from January so may not even be in for him. All the talk from our side is that we are still negotiating with targets. He may well be one of them. Noone knows yet.

Don't worry about us, we never sign anyone until July anyway.

One of the most baffling signings of the summer, a two-year deal!? Versatile, hard-working lad but he’s coming off a season-long knee injury and was never a regular for us in the National League. Think we’d offered him either a six-month or one-year deal to try and prove his fitness and that he could step up to League Two, but even that felt fairly generous.

Mad one that, just assumed he’d be leaving to get regular game time in National League.

Didn't play at all last year did he? and looked a bit of a fringe player for Notts two seasons ago. Fairly young and looked decent at Kidderminster I guess but yeah.... weird signing for a league one club.

Burton are weird indeed. I mean they signed Jake Caprice from us, so I guess anything’s possible.

I imagine our next one will be announced soon.

Got a bad feeling Lewis Brunt may be going to Posh.

Well panic stations at Charlton as O’Rourke says Huddersfield have bid for May. Had been lots of whispers the last few days about Jones not wanting him. Seems like a crazy decision to me, it’s impossible to lineup a replacement who will almost guarantee you the goal return he will. Even more to let him go to a side who will be challenging for playoffs as that will be our aim too

Has a strong relationship with Duff apparently and could see us being prepared to pay a fair whack for him as all the talk out the club is aiming for instant return. Thought he was younger than he is, take it you rate him?

Yes, all our fans rate him highly. It’s almost a guarantee he will score you goals at this level, 20+ the last 3 seasons at this level.

As much as I don’t think we will finish top 6 next season, and fully expect you to be above us, it’s our aim so letting him go to a promotion rival would be crazy. Alongside the relationship with Duff, think his partner’s family are all based not far from Huddersfield so would be a natural destination

Missus is from Doncaster I believe.

The big news here is that we definitely have a sell-on!!!

Lewis Freestone to Stevenage is also set to to be confirmed tomorrow - £100k. He's a good defender, but has a mistake in him. Gutted to see him go, but we were never keeping him if that sort of money is being thrown around.

Injury record isn’t great but he’s still young and has yet to peak. Decent pace (by the standards of this level), good physicality and anticipation.

Would be pissed off but not surprised for him to go elsewhere, for someone with more £££.

It was always likely though as he is out of contract.

Two departures and one arrival for us today apparently.

99.9% sure one of the former is our second GK Jordan Wright, who's been linked with Grimsby since the season end.
