Joshua Kayode set to join Salop on a season long loan from Rotherham. 6ft3 so should be decent at getting on the end of crosses from O’Reilly and Shipley.

Thoughts Millers fans?

Josh has had a good pre-season, scoring twice and making a couple more.

He has all the attributes to be a decent striker but sadly suffers from a lot of injuries.

He only said yesterday that he wanted to stay and fight for a place in the team and Evans agreed to let him try.
So someone changed their minds...........I wonder who?

Any way I wish him every success, he's a nice lad and deserves a bit of luck.

We have Jordan Rossiter playing for us on trial this afternoon. Read from a few Bristol Rovers fans that he’s always injured but when fit a very good player. Wouldn’t be against him joining permanently but obviously it’ll be a huge risk with his injury record.

Blimey he is getting around a bit. Stockport, Chesterfield and now Shrewsbury. Further south as well :bg: Shocked Tranny havent signed him up as they normally rehome our lost/ex scousers.

I’m not at our friendly vs Derby this afternoon, but apparently we’re dominating Derby and Rossiter is running the midfield. Some fans are saying to offer him a contract at HT!

He wouldnt be playing at this level if it weren't for his injuries. Anyone would do well to get 15 games out of him

Jack Sparkes to Peterborough is a surprising one. Wonder how much they paid, seeing as we let him go for nothing!
Darren Ferguson said "We had to act quick. Jack was on his way to sign for another club in League One"...rumours on our forum that is was us, although we now have 2 LBs

Jack Holmes who played against us for Stamford last week showed enough against Alfreton and today against Sheffield Utd to earn himself a years contract with a 12 month option.

He becomes our 13th signing, hope it's lucky 13 for his sake,

Good luck to the lad, hope he attains all his dreams.

Anyone remember Trever Berry? He looks and plays just like him, if he's half as good I'll be happy.

Nothing imminent for us but we're looking at a striker because of Walker's injury and a left wing back. Our current options in the latter are Hackett, who isn't really a LWB but isn't back in contact training yet because he dislocated his shoulder at Oxford back in April and Duffy who, for me anyway, isn't good enough as a starter in L1 (again, isn't a LWB really) and he's also going to find out in the next two weeks whether he's getting a ban for betting.

I'd be surprised if we don't look to add either another CB or RWB as well, it feels as though we're one short there.

We have four young lads who'll probably head out on loan as well - Pardington, Benn, Bradshaw and Gallagher.

Also looking for a striker or two, sounds like loans are likely now. I think it’s Will Evans at Newport we’ve tabled a couple of bids but not been accepted.

Also hoping to get Ben Quinn, Stephen Quinn nephew signed up from Celtic, been with us pre-season and impressed a lot.

I thought he was superb in that friendly against you in fairness, a properly direct winger with decent end product. Fair play to get him sorted so quickly.

He certainly made a difference down the right hand side, always looking to get forward and chased back willingly.
Also crossed a decent ball in for the equalizer, he's 22 so hopefully will improve with full time training and coaching.

Is Harry Kite still on trial at Rotherham? If not, he’ll need to get his arse in gear if he wants a new club before the season starts

Weirdly, we’re being linked in the Dutch media with bringing in Antef Tsongui from Feyenoord on loan.

He was with Brighton for several years so I guess one of our scouts is aware of him that way.

Seems quite far afield to be looking for loan players otherwise…

McAtee deal from Luton pretty much done.

Medical done, just finalising the fee with Luton. It’s £1 million +, good deal though.

Aaron Collins, Dion Charles, John McAtee, Victor Adebayajo.

Not too shabby a front line.

Stockport County.
Always liked McAtee, maverick of a player, fun to watch. Sadly a declining commodity in the modern game of pass, pass, pass, "don't you dare give the ball away", "won't someone think of the pass completion stats"

He wasn't named in the 22 man squad against Sheffield Utd yesterday.

No idea if he's gone or maybe injured.
There was nothing in the local press but Evans said in his post match comments after announcing Jack Holmes that there would be an announcement on Monday regarding the trialists.

Edit
Kite had a minor injury and will play at Grimsby on Tuesday and maybe against Donny next Saturday.

Turns out one of the four seven figure bids we have put in was for Joel Randal. Seems we have walked away hope Evatt more ran.
Pick him up next May for free.
Dembele obviously another. Mcatee not sure i would go above 6/700k for him. The final one i hope like the Randal one we have not offered that money is Armstrong Kilmarnock who i would not be going over 500k for.
Evatt saying he can wait for his targets, not sure he is waiting for these though

Not what i am hearing........Medical done, Fee and terms agreed but Holding out until Parkinson gets back from the States. Luton saying they need him for pre-season games which is obviously a smokescreen seeing he was left out at the week-end and will again be missing in the next one. Straight choice between us and Wrexham

Our first season back in L1 with a fit Rossiter we were awesome until he got injured. We never bounced back from that really.

Last season I think he played 2 games at the end, playing only 45 mins - it was still enough for Taylor to offer him a contract.

On his day, he’s simply too good for L1. Hell I’d even argue he’s a top championship player. He’s just made of weetabix unfortunately, really wish him all the best

Jordan Rossiter signs. Very happy with that, squad is coming together nicely. Think we could surprise one or two this year!

Gary Caldwell has said we’re going to announce a signing tomorrow who was our ‘number one target’ this summer, which is very intriguing.

I’ve heard we’ve bid for Will Evans but that does seem unlikely. It’s probably Luke Harris on loan from Fulham who would be superb, but it’s pleasing we’re getting our targets regardless of who it is.

It's Crama on a season long loan from Brentford. Was at Rovers last season.
Our defence now seems sorted and upgraded.
