We've been linked with Alex Jakubiak, any Gills or Bristol Rovers fans able to give a bit of info on him? Good enough for League One?
Not very memorable for us really. 2 goals in 38 appearances probably says it all but most appearances from the bench. Graham Coughlan seemed to like him though

At our AGM this evening it was said that the remaining out of contract players we have must let the club know by this Saturday 10th June whether they're staying or not - Their 4 week period to decide will then expire and we will assume they're leaving us.

This is probably the same at every other club, so we'll see some signings start in the coming weeks you'd have thought.

Alex Mighten linked on loan from Forest again. We tried to signed him last summer but he went to Wednesday instead, where I don't think he played too much BarrieOwl? Also went back in for him in January but nothing came of it.

We didn't play him enough, he had flashes of quality and then other times he looked a park player, didn't help Moore trying him at RWB.

You couldn't have signed him in January, he'd played for us and Forest already that season.

Money can be the only reason he's going there.

Tbf whilst money would be a big factor in this potential move, it would also mean he could go back to his home area. He'd be 3/4 hours closer!

Location does come into it for players, we lost Mullin partly because of that and money so perhaps similar if May went to Gills.

It's easy to dismiss it but some people just are home orientated. If May can get a good wage whilst being closer to home then it's probably a no brainer for him.

This is true, we let Connor Hall go to Colchester because he wanted to be closer to his Cambridge home. Killed us in the end as we then lost Jones to injury and ended up with 3 fit defenders who didn't work but felt we had to do the fair thing by him as he travelled from Cambridge to Vale and back for training most days! (did the same to Harrogate when he was there). Nuts!

His missus is from Donny though which could be a factor for him not going on the flip side.

He still lives in Doncaster at the moment - but I've heard he'd rather go back Kent way if he can.
I wonder if we have any interest in him, we've been linked with Ogbene and Poole but not heard owt else and our head of recruitment has gone to Blackpool to be their new sporting director.

The guy who reliably knows the club dealings says that Koiki has rejected a new contract. Would have been first choice left back, but spent a lot of last season injured, so not sure who would have taken a punt on him. Good dribbler, better going forward than he is defensively. Upper L2/Lower L1 level but still young.

Internet linking Aberdeen, St. Mirren, Wycombe and Portsmouth.

George Thomas has signed a new two year deal after joining from QPR in January. No doubt in his qualities and we've only managed to get him due to his injuries of late.

If we can get him fit he will be a big player for us.

Poor from Smyth if he does go, he's a massive sick note and Richie has played him carefully for the last season and a half, he's had a proper run in a first team, which he hasn't really had ever during his career due to injuries, and we've gone up as champions so would be a bit of a kick in the teeth to up sticks and leave.
He'll tear his ACL on the 3rd game of the season anyway.

Lose Smyth and Vigs and we have some proper re-building to do if we're to avoid a proper relegation scrap.

Honestly, I think it's better for teams to come 2nd and 3rd in League two than Champions. When we went up under Wilder, we lost him and our best player Ricky Holmes in the summer after. FGR got picked apart the same way last year. Better to go under the radar and underappreciated some times.

we've got a hideous record of signing injury-prone defenders - injuries are obviously an occupational hazard in the game, but we are really dicing with danger if we're targeting another one.

Emmanuel is in talks apparently ex Ipswich was at Grimsby but up against Wigan and Peterborough, we should compete with Wigan currently as more secure but guess Posh would offer more money maybe so have to see on that one.

Ben Purrington on his way to us according to an ITK on Twitter who’s been bang on with a few things recently. Solid signing if it happens.

Our offer must have been horrendous if he ends up at Gillingham.

Gillingham are splashing the cash by all accounts - have heard it's a bollocks rumour though and no bid has been made by them

We lost our manager and best player too the last time we were promoted, which was as champions. At least we're not losing our manager this time.

Was a good season to GTF out of that league, a lot of clubs going for it next season. You gotta feel for Mansfield who for two or three years were the division's big spenders, to no avail and now probably not even in the top 8 budgets.

Regarding Gillingham, their fans are in bullish mode, they've been on twitter asking about Owen Moxon because apparently they're about to sign him. He's had interest from Sheffield United and Sunderland, but yeah sure he might prefer Preistfield to the Stadium of Light.

I wonder what happens when the American sugar daddy gets bored with his new plaything though.

Don’t get me wrong, I have the same concerns with *our* American owners…it just seems really weird to want to come in and invest in an incredibly volatile and (in the vast majority of cases) unprofitable business if you have no affinity with the local area.

If people think they can come in, splash some cash for a few seasons, then flip the club for a profit - I doubt that’s realistic.

In Wrexham’s case then I guess they’ve actually got money coming in from increased ticket sales from all the randoms that go and watch them because of the documentary and the Hollywood success story - plus also that club has a naturally good catchment area (to be fair I suppose Gills do too, unlike us).

Anyway who knows re. the GFC new owner revolution, I guess they are just happy to have an owner pumping money in for now, but us old cynics will always be thinking…what happens when the debts get called in?

Wasn’t great at this level for us, but then again - the season he played for us was a write off before it had even began.

A supposed “ITK” on one of forums has said Wrexham are preparing a move but he wants to join us.

Could be bollocks, probably is.

McGoldrick has opted for Notts County then, not something I would’ve predicted at the end of the season but it is what it is - creates another space in the side that we will need to fill.

1-2 goalkeepers
3-4 full backs
3 centre backs
2 midfielders
2 attackers
3 strikers

Potentially a requirement for 16 players. It’s truly a competence test for the guys in place to see what they can do and that’s without any other outgoings bar Bielik.
