Probably to make it sound better and have the yanks frothing
Nah, we've had a few kidults sign when released from citeh. The last player to mention for us that was released from citeh is Curtis Obeng. Sadly his career went downhill after leaving us to chase the pot of gold down Swansea.

We've signed Dominic Ball on a deal until the end of the season, adds some much needed experience to our midfield.

On paper a god signing, but his injury record isn't the best.

So he wasn't signed FROM Man City then. Who writes this crap?
You should see some of the 'out there' headlines from clickbait wankers in Nigeria. Honestly, it's sickening! According to them, PP has died multiple times and had his head blown off at least twice. We're signing players from Madrid for 300m euros, plane accidents galore.

Looking like Freddie Ladapo is coming in on a free, we need another striker due to how injury prone our current lot are and missing out on Alfie May/Joe Taylor , don’t know much about it him.

Freddie kind of always split the fanbase at Rotherham TBH.

Nobody can argue with his scoring record over his career and he was around a goal every three games for us.

What mainly got on fans nerves was his apparent lack of commitment and enthusiasm, his body language suggests he doesn't care very much.

He looks like a player who doesn't exactly love the grafty part of the game, he'll press defenders then forget to or can't be bothered to.

Luckily for him, he had Michael Smith to do his share of the hard graft, if you have a player who can do Smith's role for him he could certainly get some goals for you.

Having said that he is 2 years older than when he was here, and didn't seem to play all that much for Ipswich last season.
He won't be up to speed match fitness-wise but his goals come mainly from sharpness around the box and instinct for being in the right place.

Would I want him back?
It's never a bad idea to sign a proven goal scorer but I don't see how he could work in this Steve Evans team especially as JCH sometimes looks as lazy as Freddie.

It'll be interesting to see how it works out.

The issue with Ladapo is pretty simple really, if he was a great striker he would have moved on and progressed, but he just seems to tread water. I really thought the lad would move on in his development and career, just doesn't seem to have happened

In a bizarre move, Kevin MacDonald (35) is training with us after his release by Bradford. Kevin signed for us a few years back and is mates with Caldwell, as is half of Scotland.

I thought he performed well for you guys if i remember rightly. Not sure why he bombed at Bradford, maybe the Bradford curse!!

MacDonald looked excellent at points, despite being incredibly slow, his passing and creativity was superb at times. Seems like Alexander at Bradford didn’t fancy him at all and at 35 he’s coming to the end now.

I mean he could be handy to have in the squad as I think there’s space for another midfielder. Wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up with a deal till January and we can assess from there.

Rumour on rumour on why. I dont know the actual reason so I will keep my counsel.

It is a shame though. His scoring record at a lower level means someone should take a chance on him but he has now had two goes (us and Bolton) and he hasn't lasted long at either.

He was on loan with us for half the season and was pretty dire. That being said, not many shone in last season's Charlton team

Danny Hylton signed as player coach, with the latter probably being more of his job. I'd not be expecting him to get many minutes if any

Especially as he has a habit of 'putting it about a bit'

Can only be as a coach. To say hes finished as a player is an understatement. No goals from us in 2 seasons and I am legitimately faster and more mobile than he is. His only goal seemed to be winding up the opposition in any and everyway manageable. Seems to be universally disliked here as spent more time tweeting and attending Luton games than trying to get fit here.

Couldn't have started better on Saturday in fairness by scoring!

By the sounds of it our managers been after him for years and he's always seemed fond of Worthing, so when we caught wind of his situation it seemed a no brainer to get him in

I hope he does well with you.

I honestly don't know what happened up here with him.

Mustapha Carayol signed on a short term deal till January - presumably a cover/replacement for Wildschut & Jones who are both injured for the foreseeable

I just posted on our forum old players thread about Carayol joining Exeter and I realised it was 17 seasons ago he played for Crawley.

Doesn't time fly as you get old!

Ourv2 billion signing has finally arrived at the club. Pictures of Benjamin Tanimu now posted. Can he transfer his form from the Tanzanian top division to league 1?

Smart arse comments aside it will be interesting to see how good he is and what we do with him. You don't get called up for Nigeria if you are total crap and the Nigerian fa released some data saying he is the fastest player in their squad (2nd was Victor Osiman).
