Who's missing today attacking wise for you though? I get Flint was out and is your best defender. Keillor-Dunn is a loss but he's been sold, he's not injured and not coming back.

Has all the hallmarks of a grind. But you'll do plenty well enough, today was not an easy game to dominate by any stretch for us. There were many facets to your play that made it our hardest game yet. But I can't see it being champagne football.

Well I think it’s fair to say we are lacking a little now we’ve lost DKD, who for me was the best player in L2 last season and had mid 30s goal contributions, so that’s obviously going to make it difficult considering we did not replace him.

We’ve got some adapting and tweaking to do with the formation now he’s gone, we were most dangerous down the left with Quinn and Macca linking up today, our best spell in the first half they were a menace. Gregory and Evans is a good front line, we may not have created loads today but it’s one game, never be so naive to take so much out of that, proper amateur stuff and you know better.

We are also missing George Maris who got double figures in midfield last season and Keanu Baccus who is a threat from midfield and more attacking minded, the latter should be back in a fortnight after his international duty.

Birmingham spending in all fairness has been outside any normal league one transfer window, but in the picture it is not overbearing or putting the club at risk. Next season they will be hampered with what they can spend and will have ffp Restrictions.......Forward thinking by using their one season in lge1 to rebuild and have a team that will challenge the top of the championship next season. Not convinced Stansfield will score more than May, but Birmingham have bought Stansfield for the future.
Wrexham owners may watch how Birmingham go about business in the next two seasons and follow that blue print it is the only way they will now progress but with Wrexham they have no infrastructure so they will have to invest way more than Birmingham to advance.
Like it or lump it some clubs that get relegated from the cash cow that is the Championship are going to blow the rest of league one out of the water each season
Maybe they ought to look at FFP being introduced across the whole EFL, not just the Championship.

We have signed Tyler Roberts on a season long loan from Birmingham. remember him being at Leeds for some time, how was he for you brum fans? Even if he’s not a physical forward he’s another body we desperately needed up top and has pedigree from a higher level. Seems a great signing for us.
Roberts issue was always annoying niggly injuries, for us he was injured for about 3 months early on and that hampered him but we saw glimpses of quality when he did play, hope he does well for you

Ladies and gentleman, we got him :bg:

My thoughts, we were on socials all summer more in hope than expectation that he would come back we did not deep down think it would happen, he was a shining light for us last season , miles above a really bad bunch, we broke the cardinal rule, we fell in love with a loan player and the feeling was mutual. We heard rumours friday morning from reliable sources ie John Percy that this was on and so it proved, he will play wide, May still number one up front, Jay has huge potential and this is a signing to take us through the leagues, upwards.

The fee is astronomical, but will obviously not be paid all in one go and over time.

We have done exactly what we said we would do, build a championship ready squad for league one, now its down to the manager to make them tick. For 10/12 years of watching absolute shite i deserve this, the transfer window was magical for us.

People with have a pop at us for this and fair enough, but it reeks to high heavens of jealousy. Nothing more nothing less, nobody gave a toss when our previous owners ran us into the ground... now everyone seems to have an opinion, funny that.

Ive got no problems at all with whatever birmingham spend ,you are genuinely too big for this division and hope your new owners deliver on the promises theyve made, likewise wrexham though they are not what i have ever classed as a big club maybe one day but who knows

We spent because we can, dont hate the player hate the game :bg:

We are fortunate to be owned by someone with a lot of wealth and done it all before, I’m not against it.

But you just accept it’s silly money, and enjoy it. No small violins.

No small violins from me, we have found it amusing the reaction from some, its a humongous fee, and we believe over time that it will be good value, we love the kid and we see there is a player there that will only get better.

Our owners are ambitious and thats to be applauded, we are building a championship ready squad for this division.mission accomplished in that regard.

It doesn't help when a lot of your fans on social media come across as a bunch of arrogant entitled twats much like Sunderland were.
From your posts here you are not one of them btw, but it gets tedious after a while.
Just means there is one less space for promotion for everyone else, which im fine with as I dont expect us to be troubling the top spots anyway.

The difficulty about that is we have had up to a decade of utter crap to watch, constant relegation battles points deductions, seeing other teams in our locality doing well, its been a rough patch, for a lot of blues fans this season is a release, a time to have some fun, going to a game where the likelihood is that we will win is a feeling we have not had since probably the last time we were in this league 30 years ago.

I don't think its arrogance, more a reaction to bleating from oppo fans on socials, there is baiting and blues fans are biting

We've actually signed Benjamin Tanimu. A Nigerian who has been playing in Tanzania. 2 year deal. It's on our official site. I honestly thought it was a wind up...still half convinced it is.
Has played for the Nigerian national side 3 times. If anyone knows anything about Tanzanian football standards let me know. He looks like a brick outhouse and plays as a centre half.

I completely agree with these comments. Birmingham City are a big club and not just for the Third Division either. If we had your money I would expect our club to buy decent players as well. I've no problem with any of your signings and what you have had to pay. To get promoted you have to do everything in your power to do just that.

Now that's a proper left field signing.

I see Burton have signed their 50th new player. Costa Rican international Alejandro Bran on loan…

I’m obviously missing something here, but how are they able to sign someone on loan nearly a week after the window closed?? Can only assume it’s because the paperwork was completed last week and they’ve held off announcing due to a work permit or something?

Maybe the paperwork got sent from Costa Rica with a second class stamp on.
I’m as mystified as you.
That is our 23rd signing - breaking the record set by forest of 21 players signed in a window.

Yeah probably international clearance that has delayed announcing it. As long as paperwork was submitted before the deadline its fine

I wonder if Burton players have been wearing name badges in training?

We've had the same thing with our new Nigerian signing from Tanzania. Announced way after the window closed and also Bradley Ibrahim on loan from Germany was after the window closed too.

It does sound dodgy.

They must do. It can’t be good inserting 23 new players in and expecting it to work. Especially when some of them are from the Congo or Fiji and Borneo.
Can I ask -- How many are left from last season ?

So you have a first team squad of 37 -- Is that right ?
Crazy numbers.

I’m sure Burton have good players within the squad that can see them to a solid position, but how the hell is the manager going to work with such a massive group. Surely it’s going to make his job much harder.

It won’t work. It rarely ever does with a squad that big. Players get pissed off and leave with no game time. He is not experienced enough to manage them all.
