Looks like Tavares, Kiko and Dani have signed from Vitoria in the Portuguese top flight according to a transfer website.

Dani looks as though he has played Champions League Football for Cluj in the past and won Titles in Romania.

Decent player, gets forward a lot. Remember him having an absolute stinker one game and was never seen again for us.

Leigh's a really good signing for Bury, loads of potential but he needs to be playing and he won't shift Meredith at left back here so I've no issue with him moving on, would've been nice to have kept him though

This reminds me of when Di Canio brought a load of foreigners across. I can't remember one who was a success sadly. It was the domestic lads he signed that did well. I really do think at this level bringing across a load of unknowns from foreign shores is a huge gamble, which Vale fans to be fair have held up their hands and admitted.

I assume the first one is keeper Dan Bentley, not washed up former PL player David Bentley.

I'm quite looking forward to this season now.

Yes it's a huge gamble but we could of gone for the easy option, retained the same squad as last year and ended up mid table, we were never going to improve with that group of players.

We're going about business completely differently to what we've been used to, some players will flop and not get used to the English league, homesick etc, but then we may also find a star who can make us money in the future. Norman may be crazy, but surely he wouldn't sign all these without researching and talking to relevant people in the know.

We could of signed the usual journeyman lower league players who move from club to club, but you know what to expect from previous seasons as they have been about for a while and you know what your getting. This summer though we haven't signed a player I've heard of yet and the only idea we have got on them is 5 minute video's on youtube.

Next year could be a disaster or a masterstroke. We haven't got a clue how we are going to line up come the first game of the season along with any other opposition for the first few weeks so it could be a long hard season, or we may surprise everyone.

Basicly, I haven't got a clue. Bring it on.

tbh I don't think Bentley had a great season last year made quite a few mistakes. One of those being against Gillingham when he got lobbed from 40 yards. Still, he will go on to be great, certainly has the right mentality for it. I hope we have a sell on clause because Brentford will be a stepping stone for him.

I'd agree with that, everytime I've seen Bentley he's been decidedly wobbly, but other people seem to rave about him so what do I know.

3 good signings on paper for Brentford, and for a pittance considering some of the fees knocking around the Championship at the moment (£12million for Richie?!)
