Losing 2 on the bounce has killed our chances for the play offs and any chance of a good following here. Would have been 1000+ if we had at least won one of them.

Bullshit would there. You'll barely bring that to us.

We've sold out the 530 they pre sent us. We will take 700 + as it is on the back of two defeats and with our season now being over. If we were within striking distance of the play offs we would certainly take a couple hundred more. Tranmere is a decent away day with an afternoon on the piss in Liverpool. Just as Macc was a few weeks back hence 1700 going there. A day out in Burslem just doesn't seem to catch on in the same way, I've no idea why............

A day out in Crewe is pretty horrific too yet we take 2100 or whatever it is you allocate.

Horrific?? Crewe? Now you are just being silly Darren.
I think not VM, it's a flea pit as i grant them is Burslem.
Also when we play there the place becomes like a scene from the Toxteth riots with unprecedented policing and road closures and barely a cat in hells chance of a drink.

Ask any Vale fan and despite the 15 mile journey, Crewe is easily one of the worst away games we have to endure.

Macclesfield a mere few miles extra is totally opposite and a very welcoming little town.

Crewe is vile. If you were familiar with Nantwich Road i'm sure you'd concur

Agree, these days it just too much hassle. Policing, stewarding, awful away facilities meaning you watch the game from the stair well rather than the seating area, went this season but generally couldn't be arsed when I woke up to go! (glad i did though with the result)

Crewe is abit of a dive of a town, rubbish shops, terrible nightlife and lots of polish. But I've always thought we are such a good away day. Train station perfectly positioned with excellent links to pretty much everywhere. Also close and easy to get to from the M6. Then you have the choice of about 10 pubs within a couple minute walk from the ground. Also very rarely is there any trouble, and quite often you get 3 points gift wrapped at the end of the day, what's not to like.

Always liked the trip to Crewe myself, plenty of pubs, not seen too much bother wi some good results just like CL87 says re
Always liked going to Vale too , just me then? Few very good pubs, won a few games and possibly my most visited away ground. I have seen, and ended up in, bother on a couple of occasions. I'm the most easy going bloke ever btw, so it's very rare I get upset so twice at the same place says something. I remember getting corralled before one game and marched into the ground early by the feds too one time and rounded up and taken to the train station on another trip

Crewe’s away end is a farce with completely outdated facilities and the exit being a disaster waiting to happen. No idea how they get fire safety certificates for that stand.

Ditto with Notts County, I reckon the 4000 odd they give you in that away end should be lowered quite a bit taking safety in to consideration due to the abysmal concourse.

Can anybody who's been in a relatively full Field Mill away end (not including the measly 1000 from Notts County) tell me what the concourse area is like?

Notts County is a good away day overall but your right that concourse is tiny (assume down to the road behind)... the bigger issue is the complete lack of toilets! It was chaos and that is with just 1400 in there! (and oddly no toilet seat on them either!)

People moan too much , don’t go at half time and you’ll be absolutely fine

If we lowered the away allocation when Mansfield visit Meadow Lane , their would be endless complaints even though it traditionally accounts for all your home fans with a touch to spare !

Plus where would all the day trippers go ? Haha . There would be a mass invasion of the family stand or Derek Pavis and we wouldn’t want that now would we ?

I reckon you'll bring a couple of hundred more to us if it looks like you could be putting one of the final nails in our coffin, though?

Definitely. The excuses above are not good enough quite frankly, at 4,000 odd it’s clearly unsuitable and potentially dangerous, much much more dangerous than people whinging or going in to another stand (that happened in the #biggestnottinghamshiresderby anyway)

Decent from what I remember, certainly can’t remember any issues at all. That was our first season back when we beat you 1-0.

I’ve never been to Crewe but I liked it when I went to Vale, probably because the area reminded me of home though. ;)

I would rather go somewhere like that, your place or to Gigg Lane than some retail park effort with one chain pub and nothing else other than looking through the window at Matalan to kill time.

Did it? They certainly kept their heads down if so :bg:

In answer to your earlier question Conks, which I feel qualified to answer as we have obviously filled it every other year than this car crash of a season, it isn’t a concourse as such, more just a big open area at the back of the stand. Only one food bar though so the queue tends to be very long and fills half that area.

Fair play to Yeovil, I was expecting them to take about half of what they did.

They had nothing to make any noise for to be fair! Yeah it's not really a concourse, but either way it's not suitable when you have 4000 piling through it, they had stewards on each entrance checking tickets to make sure it's the correct one too which made it even more packed. It's the kids and elderly who were clearly struggling with it.

Sorry, my answer was to your question asking what the facilities are like for away fans at FM.

As for our away stand - I think the concourse is the reason why we ‘only’ give 4300 tickets (plus a few knocked off for segregation netting). The stand actually holds 5500.
