Mediocre from us , then couldn't believe what I saw afterwards at sleepy lil Cheltenham.
A ' mob ' of 70 pre pubescent school kids throwing bottles at us . The same pathetic mob in the corner. Sadly seeing as most were aged 14 to 20 at the most they got a slapping

In the programme today 98 Scunthorpe at Swindon. And I said they travelled well. Just not in midweek.

Looked more like 850 vale fans to me not 624 as that stand holds 1100. Also the crowd was 3741 and it holds 7000 how do you fit another 3000 in there?

can you supply the rest of Scunthorpe games as we have many missing from their home games.
If your club requests the away following then scunthorpe will give it. Vale asked for the number and they came back a couple of days later saying 354 away fans.

The standing areas are barely filled, and when I saw the Vale crowd I said around 700. The corners were quite bare and there were gaps throughout.

The Main Stand is rarely full as well. What you don't see when there's a good few in is the single seat gaps. By me for example there were easily 50 or so free seats, but you wouldn't know that from just looking up at the stand.

I suspect this thread will come to a grinding halt once Coronavirus hits the country big time.
One of our regular away supporters has said that he will stop travelling on Supporter's Coach until the main threat has abated.
I suspect it will be same at every club in country.

You have a Supporter's Coach already? Not as Tin Pot as I thought then!

We’ve had one going for years to every game. Took 3 on Saturday.

What’s surprising to me is that over the season so far (up to March 1) we’re only averaging 25 less average away crowds then Cheltenham 239-214.

To be averaging over 200 is pretty shit relative to most clubs in this league but for us it’s pretty good, especially given how we aren’t exactly a happy ship at the minute.

It was actually four coaches on Saturday:
3 supporters plus one for Ambassadors [young supporters + guardian]

Following last weeks following, our average should be higher than Plymouth’s. Imagine if we were actually any good and we won away from home from time-to-time.

Oh, and before the clique come along highlighting that Plymouth travel further - this wasn’t the point that I was making.

I know you are getting there mate, but just wonder if the stadium move will have a reverse effect?

We all know you live within a sparse area for population and it's a rugby supporting area anyway. So getting an average over 200 for away games isn't to be 'sniffed at' these days!

It’s impressive until you remember that Cheltenham are also a tinpot non league club from the middle of a field somewhere near Wales.

Not so.
It is to the north of Gloucestershire or Cheltenhamshire as the locals like to call themselves which is mainly Rugby supporting.
Walk round Cheltenham or Gloucester and and you'll see plenty, plenty of the claret and white striped shirts of Gloucester RFC but far less so in Stroud District where FGR is located.
In fact Nailsworth has two football teams, FGR & Shortwood, although I'll admit on other side of hill Minchinhampton does have a small rugby club.
Other football clubs in SDC include Slimbridge and Brimscombe & Thrupp plus Cirencester is only a stones throw away.
Oh yes Stroud does have a rugby team but the small stands seems to indicate it is no better supported than Shortwood.

Did anyone hear of an official figure of Grimsby fans at Scunthorpe on Saturday. I know we sold our full allocation of 2090 tickets, but that doesn't always marry up with the numbers there on the day.

Might be an opportune time to try and fill in some gaps.
So, does anyone have a figure for any of these please?

Bradford C v Cambridge
Morecambe v Colchester
Morecambe v Macclesfield
Scunthorpe v Grimsby
Stevenage v Crewe
Stevenage v Leyton O
Stevenage v Morecambe
Swindon v Cambridge
Swindon v Colchester
Swindon v Crewe
Swindon v Forest Green
Swindon v Oldham
Swindon v Plymouth
Swindon v Stevenage
Walsall v Bradford C

Also can any Northampton lurkers let me know what the figure in your programme is for the Scunthorpe v Northampton game please? The figure in the Scunny programme bears absolutely no relation to the figure that was posted on here after the game.

Thanks in advance.

From our programme: Scunny v Cobblers 12 Oct 3,377 (375)
Cheers

At the time EricSabin posted 1265 !!! Very helpful, not.
Scunny programme gives 285.
Northampton programme gives 375.

Make sense of that.

I think Eric was, at the time, responding to some other outlandish away estimates from others.
I was at Scunny and counted at least 375...:dk: :bg:
