According to the Vale owner we are being allocated 1200 for Plymouth on the last day of the season.
Seems paltry but if there's nothing on it for us we wouldn't even take 600 I doubt

Sounds like we are trying to secure more in the event they are needed so will have to see.

Notice we are now selling away tickets game by game to ST holders, Regulars then General Sale from now on with Cheltenham the first in expectation that we could take huge followings to the last 5 away games (as long as we are in with a shot)

I'm as rose tinted as they come when it comes to Vale but i think there is a sense of panic here after a few moaners claimed they couldn't get one of 8000 tickets .

Even challenging for play offs we won't be taking huge followings , Plymouth if we say had to win we could take a biggy.
I'd go
Cheltenham 800
Oldham 1000
Carlisle 600
Cambridge 600
Plymouth 400 to 3000

The club are unduly panicking and i'd be gobsmacked if we come close to selling Cheltenham out. Hope i'm wrong .

Surely you will manage bigger numbers than that??? I'm expecting over 1000 to all our Saturday away games from now til the end of the season.
1000 Morecambe
1000 Mansfield
2000 Vale
1000-1500 Bradford
1500 Cambridge
Just unfortunately for us we have two long treks on Tuesday nights to Colchester and Exeter.

Your going for Auto's though so at the moment our chances are much less.

However its hard to tell, we sold 2-3 times what we often take to Walsall so you never know...

Surely Easter Monday at Cambridge if still in the race would be a fairly decent following and Oldham if still in the race should be more than 1000 IMO.

Cheltenham the largest we've ever took is 800 plus in August 2006 but I guess if we won tomorrow this would be a huge game... its hard to tell...

On our Auto Promotion run in we took 3000 plus to Wycombe and Rochdale and sold out Chesterfield on the Easter Monday so its possible we could and the fans have got the away buzz back since Man City. Its all down to results though, home attendances are well up despite awful weather which is good to see and hopefully we can get the results and have some big games at VP too including the Crewe tie.

Just shy of 1,000 Cobblers at Grimsby today

(honest)

Personally, I was put off by the 12:30 pitch inspection. Settled for the pub and not Storm Jorge’s clutches

275 scunthorpe at vale not a bad following that considering they have nothing play for
In the light of the numbers in away end in Cleethorpes today, I'd say excellent following...

Scunny actually travel relatively well. Actually, all three Lincolnshire clubs do (naturally, GTFC are by far the best). It was a bit strange that Lincoln couldn't fill the away end at Blundell Park for years but in those same years they always had good numbers at Notts and Mansfield etc. Relative to average home support, I suggest Lincs could be the top county for travelling support in Leagues 1 and 2...

Said exactly the same at the game. That was a very decent following

Odd why they were moved to the far end of the Hamil though? Heard they’ve had some trouble and that was why?

That's a big surprise, all looked run of the mill fans to me with a group of about 6 lads stood up at the front .

In the Social they all looked old/Middle aged chaps. Was weird as when the equaliser went on you couldn’t even hear them cheer!

Our fanbase is mostly old with a few young lads, we then get a lot more younger fans for the bigger games and they are generally they ones that cause the trouble.

Sold out for Scunny next Saturday, not many will be at Plymouth on Tuesday though, not after yesterdays result.

Our season is now over.

Has anyone got a list of,

A Teams away followings match by match
B Average away followings for all league 2 teams
C Average followings of away teams at opponents grounds

I know these used to be be published on here every now and then throughout the season, but not seen anything recently.

Cheers

Hi Les,
I'm still collating this data for myself, haven't posted it on here recently as I thought that someone else had been doing it.
I can post my figures later on in the week unless someone else gets there first. I am missing a few though, so might be asking for some help with these.

I've mentioned this a couple of times this season Les, but nothing has been forthcoming so far. I can't find anything a the internet either.

I don't know who is 'running the ship' this season.

here is my list of average away followings , they do contain some estimates, Scunthorpe and Swindon home games are the problem

Average away followings at specific grounds. As you can see Salford has been an attraction this season and Crewe is easy to get to. Plymouth is bottom as it is miles away and Grimsby & Mansfield haven't been to Scunthorpe yet.

This is the willy waving league table though based on miles travelled and adjustments made for midweek games. It is a median figure of number of supporters who travel to a game on Saturdays at a distance of 150 miles. As you can see all the tin pot , non brotherhood clubs are at the bottom of the list. Some folk say that the actual league table should be based on this hierarchy.

Could you create a list of Saturday away matches only, especially when we have had a couple moved to mid week because of the FA Cup or those originally planned for that we all would definitely have had considerably more...?

Cheers for posting those 'Northstandexile', some fine numbers there and well done to both Plymouth and Bradford for averaging over 1,000 when there are so many mid-week matches.

Just shows there are more than a few 'proper' football supporters down here.
