Interesting debate going off on Stagsnet again about a loyalty system for away games. A fair few games where allocations aren’t nearly enough now and with an increase in season ticket holders who usually get priority and away numbers being on the rise a few miss out.

Allocations at Harrogate and Stockport so far but it is what it is, could argue Notts but you can’t moan at the numbers they give us. Wrexham only 1200 and Barrow 800 or so in the final month of the season for us where if we are still in contention for autos demand will be more so some arguing for a points system.

Any others down here have anything like that in place? Imagine Bradford will given they’ve got 10k more season ticket holders than the rest of us. Wrexham, Grimsby, Notts and Stockport? How do you lot go about doing it? Or is it just a free for all like we do currently

We do it on loyalty points. ST holders start off with 260 points and that gets added to whenever you buy an away tickets.

When we have restricted numbers those with the highest points get first dibs, then ST holders, then general sale.

How many loyalty points will I receive?

As a season ticket holder, you gain 260 loyalty points on your account – this is for tickets only.

This will enable you to get priorities on any big games Swindon may have over the forthcoming season.

Further points are allocated when purchasing other games, 15 for a home cup game and 10 for any away fixture (provided the tickets are sold via Swindon Town).

It seems low but I think the 3 pitch inspections will have put a lot off, most were expecting it to be called off so I would guess a lot will not have risked travelling and by the time it was finally game on it was 1PM so too late for them to set off.

We can safely put the number of hardcore fans at Crewe at about 150, tops! Shocking number even in the conditions.

Yeah, we’ve had loyalty points in place now for a few years.

In addition to match day tickets, it’s also embedded into club merchandise.

Prior to its launch, the club used to sell 1,000 slots for £30 (I think). If you held a slot, you would get first dibs on tickets before ST holders. Good money maker for the club, but ethically, a shitty move.

Season ticket holders get first dibs on tickets. If it's a small allowance like Harrogate only one ticket.
I've nearly always been able to get a ticket, I'm a season ticket holder but Wrexham last season and Stockport this I've not been able. Stockport mainly because I didn't know they were on sale until too late.
This season you definitely have to get in early or miss out.

No loyalty system for us, it's just your standard ST holders, 1878 memberships, trust memberships and then general sale. It's all one for one until general sales but you can link memberships. The vast majority of ours get to general sale, think I've needed my 1878 membership twice since they introduced it at the start of 21/22. I've missed out on tickets once (Notts in the playoffs when they gave us 2000) and then I managed to get a Wrexham playoff ticket through a connection but would never have got one with my membership. Pontoonlew has sorted me out a few times too actually, was touch and go for Brighton which is mad considering the allocation wasn't too far off our total amount of ST holders.

As an exhile, I'm anti-loyalty scheme as I rarely get to home games so that's points I'm missing out on. If it was done purely on away matches I'd probably do pretty well. Has been debated plenty on The Fishy and the overall conclusion is that we don't really need it. The priority system we have just about works right now.

We took more to Exeter on Saturday, and we hadn't won since September. I can guarantee if it was the other way around, Grimsby would take way more than that to Crewe if you were in their position in the table.

Loyalty schemes are great if you fall into the demographic of having time on your hands and a bit of disposable income, I’m looking at young adults, still live at home/no bills/no responsibilities or the older end with not really any dependents, money less of an issue, wife or whoever doesn’t care if you spend your Saturday on a coach travelling down the M1.
For me, two young kids, self employed working nearly every hour, mortgage, never ending list of soft play birthday parties, can’t remember what having spare time feels like… I struggle now to get to away games because of the particular period of my life, I used to get to plenty back in the day, will get to plenty in a few years when kids are old enough to go, by which time I’ve been left in the dust because during the time the loyalty scheme has existed is the same time that my away game attendance has been its lowest since I started going and I can’t build up points.
These few who are able to get their noses in front in terms of building points up, then become uncatchable because whilst they’re able to pick up the loyalty points at games like Harrogate, the rest can’t even buy a ticket never mind get any points.

I’m similar to you regards to points amassed. They have data/purchase history going back years. My first ST purchased in 2001 is on my account - so I’m not sure why they can’t backdate points.

But then, how far back do you go comes into the equation. The club can’t really win.

I’m completely against it, i don’t believe in a tier system for fans.

You’ve already supported your club through a season ticket to get first dibs, if you’ve got tinpot away ends like harrogate stockport and barrow for instance that’s the price you pay for 4th division football.

I didn’t get one for stockport simply as i forgot, don’t see me crying about it like most on stagsnet are.

As it is i got lucky and it’ll be on ifollow which will actually work a lot better with it being NYD, watch it in the warmth of home while
mildly hungover rather than being out in the cold and dark, nah.

I also dislike our own stagsnet as some fans seem to have got “entitled” of late, which isn’t a trait i like to see.

On about tiers for away tickets - Wrexham have a problem now due to the amount of STH we have against the total amount of away tickets we get. Using 1000 away ticket allocation as an example, 70% of that will go towards season ticket holders first (normally 10am), and the remaining 30% goes to members of the club, which at £30 a year, you don't get a lot of perks for being a member except trying to get a ticket for any match home or away. STH are automatically enrolled as being a member. So in this instance, I have a chance of getting 1 of 700 tickets at 10am, or if i'm out of luck, I can try at 2pm with the door opened for all members to get 1 of 300 tickets.

When we have big allocations like Tranmere or Bradford, you have to be quick at 10am otherwise you'd have no chance. All away ends have sold out so far this season, which is incredible really.

I've been fortunate to go to all games so far (only missed Mansfield in the cup as that was 1 game too many for away games in October taking its toll on my bank account!).

I think the higher up you go in the football pyramid, there should be a tier system in place, but at our level, not so much.

We've seen our away end also sold out (except for Salford who brought FA) and Grimsby but in fairness to them, they brought good numbers to warrant having both parts of the stand open. All because they want to go to Wrexham due to Hollywood. Even Morecambe sold out and Newport sold out in under 3 hours when they've not even brought the full allocation amount over the past 20 years combined.
